  • Hard drive restore on reboot on windows embedded

    My company has an old out of service device with windows embedded on it that we want to re purpose. Any changes to the drive (SD Card with 2 partitions), (ie: installed software, ip address, system settings, files) are reset/deleted when we reboot the device. We can successfully make changes to the drive by plugging it into a PC, but that has its limitations and we would like to be able to use our device. Can anyone tell us more about the technology used for doing this and how/if we can disable it?

The documentation for IndexIgnore says The IndexIgnore directive adds to the list of files to hide when listing a directory. How do I allow directory listing for this sub-directory?

  • Silverlight 4 mising from Visual Studio 2010

    Hi I've just finished installing Visual Studio 2010 professional onto Vista. But don't seem to have Silverlight 4. If I try to create a new project I can see Silverlight project templates but only seem to be able to target Silverlight 3. Is Silverlight 4 not part of vs2010 pro by default? I also noticed the msbuild targets is missing ie the v4.0 folder doesn't exist at the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\Silverlight\ Any help/thoughts would be much appreciated.     I just installed Ext2 Installable File System 1.11a, it creates new drive in "My computer" like link to my ext3 partition but further it does not work for me - an error appears when I try to access this drive (this program actually not for Windows 7) and now I want to remove it, but there is no appropriate menu entry in "Remove programms" window. And no folder in "Program files" So, how to remove it?

    I want to create a directory, for example: /public/all But I want it so that if you create a file in all, the owner is root, but anyone with access to the /public/all folder can delete/edit/etc the file, just not change the permissions. (I will use a self-created "setx" application to change the execute value if needed.) Reason for this, I don't want you to be able to deny other users write/read access to files in /public/all. I heard setuid on directories doesn't work for that.

The locked folder should be displayed to user as password protected folder, when user try to open the folder, it should ask password. When the user enters correct password it should open, otherwise it should throw an error. Is there any application with this quality? I searched a lot, but I could not find any.

  • CentOS 5: Can't access webserver via http from host OS?

    My server is installed on a guest OS on vmware. It really bugs me because I can't access it from the host OS's browser even though there is no discrepancy between /etc/hosts, /etc/sysconfig/network, httpd.conf files. Issuing ifconfig command also returns the same IP. I have also enabled netwroking in the vmware settings. And I can ping the guest OS's IP from the host. Any insights pls???

  • permissions on upload folder not working

    I have a php script which uploads images to a folder. I have these permissions on the upload folder: drwxrwxr-- 4 user user 4096 2010-06-02 16:20 temp_images Shouldn't these permissions be enough for files to be uploaded to the folder? But this doesn't work. It only works when I set the permissions to 777. "user" is added to the www-data group, still no luck. Any ideas why?

    VLC can download MMS streaming video using the following command... C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC>vlc mms://blah.akamaistream.net/mystreaming.wmv :demux=dump :demuxdump-file=mystreaming.ps ... but it downloads the show at the regular reading speed. For shows that last longer than a few minutes, I was wondering if someone could recommend a good, preferable free, download for Windows to speed downloading?

  • How can I manage hostnames across multiple servers? [closed]

    In a lot of documentation I've seen recently, servers are referred to by internal hostnames, such as production-1, production-2, db-1. I realize I can associate these names in the hosts file on the server, but this would obviously mean maintaining a host file for multiple servers, which for anything greater than 2 or 3 would get unwieldy. Is there some simple way people manage common hostnames across multiple servers and keep them in sync, without having to edit multiple files every time?
