  • ASP.net and it's version

    I'm new to asp.net and now following through the http://nerddinnerbook.s3.amazonaws.com/Part1.htm howto. All is fine except of when code is falling with exception i see Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3053; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3053 but at project properties 3.5 is selected. what is wrong and how to fix it? ps: i'm running code directly from VS2008 (by pressing ctrl+f5) without any dedicated IIS.

  • Is ASP.Net State Server an elegant solution?

    We have an ASP.Net MVC project that will start with a single web server but likely soon scale into a small web farm. As ASP.Net Authentication stores a UserID, and data caching may also be useful, we would likely need to make the jump to state server fairly soon. I'd like to hear from others how State Server has been to work with and how it scales from a performance perspective. Alternateively, we could architect it as completely stateless by not using data caching and tracking sessions with an encrypted cookie.

I dont want to use the reset password method. I just want to grab the password i have inside my textbox and replace it with my older password.     I'm trying to learn ASP.NET. I open Visual Studio (this happens in both 2008 and 2010) and creating a new ASP.NET website using .NET 3.5. When I attempt to run the website, a FireFox page opens up and tells me that it can't establish a connection to the server (localhost:####). There's no helpful error message, just "cannot connect." What could be causing this?

  • ASP.NET MVC - PartialView html not changing via jQuery html() call

    When I change the selection in a DropDownList, a PartialView gets updated via a GET request. When updating the PartialView via the jQuery html() function, the html returned is correct but when it displayed in the browser it is not correct. For example, certain checkboxes within the PartialView should become enabled but they remain disabled even though the html returned says they should be. When I do a view source in the browser the html never gets updated. I'm a little perplexed. Thoughts?     Hi there, I have an asp.net page, with couple of Divs, some of these div's get the image path from database and show the image in a smaller version (thumbnail). and as soon as user click on thumbnail, I use ajax Modal popup to show the full size image, what I need to have is to have a progree image(gif), on every thumbnail image while loading the asp.net page for the first time, I konw that it is possible to use UpadePanel, but I need the actual working code,or any other way to achieve this, Thanks in advance
