    I would like to search between to columns in a s query or a table depending on the variable on a paramenter e.g Declare @SelectAll as interger Set @SelectAll = 1 Declare @Column as interger Select mt.Column1, mtColumn2 From MyTable as mt Where Case When @SelectAll = 1 Then mt.Column1 IN(@Column) and mt.Column2 (' Selecting all") When @SelectAll = 1 Then mt.Column2 IN(@Column) and mt.Column1 (' Selecting all") End The purpose of this query is to allow the user to search between the column they choose. Further more the use of parameter is for the purposes of writing reporting services reports.

    When I create a new Reporting Services report or try to open an existing report (that has been working) in Visual Studio 2008. I cannot view the design. I get no error message and it only shows html code in the "Design View". I've tried reinstalling VS2008 and BIDS, but hasn't worked. This was all working when I last used it 2 weeks ago. -nate

Companies such as RealQuest offer reports as a subscription service, but I'm looking to download the raw data, preferably in XML format (I don't want to parse the output since the presentation could change without notice). Are there any such services available?

    Hello, I am just studying the code of Sacha Barbers MVVM framework Chinch and I saw this in the xxxViewModel.cs file: DataService.FetchAllOrders(CurrentCustomer.CustomerId.DataValue); DataService is a Static class. Being a junior dev I am only used to Interfaces with Data services. Why is that class static? Or do you think he made it just for the example? So is that a good approach?

    I just created a web service client using axis and eclipse that does not work with my web service provider. Perhaps a different framework that I can use to create the correct client.

What is the best way to do this? I'm new to web services and am confused by all the soap, wsdl etc. and have also heard a lot that it'll be a pain to get the two to communicate. Your thoughts?

  • CICS web service requestor GET CONTAINER returns neither data nor error

    I am developing a CICS web service requestor application to consume a distributed web service. I used the web services assistant DFHWS2LS to transform the wsdl to copybooks successfully. I have no problem issuing the PUT CONTAINER and INVOKE SERVICE api commands, but when I issue GET CONTAINER I am not receiving any containers or data. No response codes or error messages, but no data. Any ideas on how to debug this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

When I run it locally, I have no problems, but when I move it to my production environment, I get the following error: There is an error in XML document (2, 428). My local machine is a running vista home edition and the production environment is windows server 2003. The application is written in asp.net 3.5, wierdly under the asp.net config tab in iis, 3.5 doesn't show up in the drop down list, although that version of the framework is installed. The error is not being thrown in my code, it happens during serialization. I called the method on the proxy, I have checked the arguments and they are OK. I have also logged the SOAP request and response, and they both look OK as well. I am really at a loss here. Any ideas? SOAP log: This is the soap response that the program seems to have trouble parsing only on server 2003. On my machine the soap is identical, and yet it parses with no problems. I want to create a project where i want to access the same data repository from a desktop application, website and a cell phone. What would you recommend me?   • Asp.net web service: Problems accessing without www

    I have a Asp.net web service running on www.domain.com/Service.svc that I connect to using jQuery from my asp.net website. Everything works perfect if the user access my website with www.domain.com. But if the user uses only domain.com I get error: There was no channel actively listening at 'http://domain.com/Service.svc/get?date=2010-10-09'. This is often caused by an incorrect address URI. Ensure that the address to which the message is sent matches an address on which a service is listening. In my web.config I use the serviceHostingEnvironment tag to get the service running on my webhost (it doesn't work otherwise). Maybe this is what causes the error?
