  • C# Using colors in console , how to store in a simplified notation

    Hello, The code below shows a line in different colors. But thats alot of code to type just for one line and to repeat that all over a program again. How exactly can i simplify this , so i dont need to write the same amount of code over and over?   • Is using .h as a header for a c++ file wrong?

    Is using .h as a header for a c++ file wrong? I see it all over the place, especially with code written in the "C style". I noticed that Emacs always selects C highlighting style for a .h header, but c++ for hpp or hh. Is it actually "wrong" to label your headers .h or is it just something which annoys me? EDIT: There is a good (ish) reason why this annoys me, if I have project files labelled, 'hpp & cpp' I can get away with 'grep something *pp' etc. otherwise I have to type '.h cpp'

  • How do I get certain code to execute before every single controller action in ASP.NET MVC 2?

    I want to check some things about the state of the session, the user agent, etc, and possibly take action and return a special view BEFORE a controller method gets a chance to execute. For example: Most common: User requests Home/Index System checks to make sure x != 0. x does not equal zero, so the Home/Index controller executes like normal. But, sometimes: User requests Home/Index System checks to make sure x != 0. x DOES equal zero. The user must be notified and the requested controller action cannot be allowed to execute. I think this involves the use of ActionFilters. But I have read about them and I don't understand if I can preempt the controller method and return a view before it executes. I am sure I could execute code before the controller method runs, but how do I keep it from running in some instances and return a custom view, or direct to a different controller method?

  • Re-ordering a collection of UIView's based on their CGPoint

    Hi all, I have a NSMutableArray that holds a collection of UIViewControllers Amongst other properties and methods an instance of each of the viewControllers are placed in a parent view The user will place these objects individually when desired to. So essentially I use - (void)addSubview:(UIView *)view when a new view is added to the parent view controller. Because the UI is isometric it's made things a tad more complicated What I am trying to do is re-order the views based on their co-ordinate position, so items higher up the parent UIView frame is indexed lower then views lower in the parent UIview frame. And items that are on the left side of the view are positioned at a higher index to those on the right I think the solution may have to do with re-ordering the NSMutableArray but how can I compare the CGpoints? Do I need to compare the x and y separately?

    I'm trying to find a way to wrap just the inner text of an element, I don't want to target any other inner dom elements. For example. <ul> <li class="this-one"> this is my item <ul> <li> this is a sub element </li> </ul> </li> </ul> I want to use jQuery to do this. <ul> <li class="this-one"> <div class="tree-item-text">this is my item</div> <ul> <li> <div class="tree-item-text">this is a sub element</div> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> A little background is I need to make an in-house tree structure ui element, So I'm using the UL structure to represent this. But I don't want developers to have to do any special formatting to use the widget. update: I just wanted to add the purpose of this is I want to add a click listener to be able to expand the elements under the li, However, since those elements are within the li the click listener will activate even when clicking on the children, So I want to attach it to the text instead, to do this the text needs to be targetable, which is why I want to wrap it in a div of it's own. So far I've come up with wrapping all the inner elements of the li in a div and then moving all inner dom elements back to the original parent. But this code is pretty heavy for something that might be much simpler and not require so much DOM manipulation.   • bind parent child listview asp.net

    I'm trying to display two linq query results in a prent and child listview. I have the following code which gets the correct values to populate the listviews but when I nest the child listview inside the parent list view, I get an error saying "The name 'ListView2' does not exist in the current context". I presume I need to bind the two listviews in the code behind but my problem is I don't know how or the best way to do this. I have read a couple of posts on similar problems but my lack of knowledge on the subject doesn't make it clear to me. Please can somebody help me figure this out?     I have a form that allows a user to import a spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is generally static when it comes to column headers, but now the users want to be able to include an optional column (called Notes). My code crashes when I try to read the column from the spreadsheet if it doesn't exist.     I have a Windows CE console application that's entry point looks like this int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) I want to check the contents of argv[1] for "-s" convert argv[2] into an integer. I am having trouble narrowing the arguments or accessing them to test. I initially tried the following with little success if (argv[1] == L"-s") I also tried using the narrow function of wostringstream on each character but this crashed the application.   • Adding file names to an array list in java

    Hi I am currently needing to load the contents of a folders filenames to an arraylist I have but I am unsure as how to do this. To put it into perspective I have a folder with One.txt, Two.txt, Three.txt etc. I want to be able to load this list into an arraylist so that if I was to check the arraylist its contents would be : arraylist[0] = One arraylist[1] = Two arraylist[3] = Three If anyone could give me any insight into this it would be much appreciated.

    Does anyone know of a jQuery plugin that has 'helpers' or extensions like those found in the YAHOO.lang namespace? I have in mind functions such as: isNull isDefined isString isFunction I would also appreciate the same kind of thing for strings and arrays, such as Contains, StartsWith (I know these are easy to write, I'm just looking for a plugin that encompasses them all). It's not in the YAHOO.lang namespace but also form related extensions- determining a radiobox's value (from the one checked), a form element's type in a friendly name. Specifically a plugin with fluent API rather than selector based such as $("input[@type=radio][@checked]") Again I'm aware they're easy to implement but I don't want to reinvent the wheel.

  • How does Access 2007's moveNext/moveFirst/, etc., feature work?

    I'm not an Access expert, but am an SQL expert. I inherited an Access front-end referencing a SQL 2005 database that worked OK for about 5000 records, but is failing miserably for 800k records... Behind the scenes in the SQL profiler & activity manager I see some kind of Access query like: SELECT "MS1"."id" FROM "dbo"."customer" "MS1" ORDER BY "MS1"."id" The MS prefix doesn't appear in any Access code I can see. I'm suspicious of the built-in Access navigation code: DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNext The GoToRecord has AcRecord constant, which includes things like acFirst, acLast, acNext, acPrevious and acGoTo. What does it mean in a database context to move to the "next" record? This particular table uses an identity column as the PK, so is it internally grabbing all the IDs and then moving to the one that is the next highest??? If so, how would it work if a table was comprised of three different fields for the PK? Or am I on the wrong track, and something else in Access is calling that statement? Unfortunately I see a ton of prepared statements in the profiler. THanks!

    I'm trying to do Ruby password input with the Highline gem and since I have the user input the password twice, I'd like to eliminate the duplication on the blocks I'm passing in. For example, a simple version of what I'm doing right now is: new_pass = ask("Enter your new password: ") { |prompt| prompt.echo = false } verify_pass = ask("Enter again to verify: ") { |prompt| prompt.echo = false } And what I'd like to change it to is something like this: foo = Proc.new { |prompt| prompt.echo = false } new_pass = ask("Enter your new password: ") foo verify_pass = ask("Enter again to verify: ") foo Which unfortunately doesn't work. What's the correct way to do this?

I don't want to include it multiple times per page, but I want my control to be able to be used multiple times on the same page.   • Save list of CGPoints using NSUserDefaults

    I have a bunch of CGPoints from a CCTMXLayer I want to save to NSUserDefaults but cannot seem to figure out an elegant way of doing so. Originally I was hoping to save an NSDictionary with an NSMutableSet for a value containing several NSValues (valueWithCGPoint). From what I can tell neither NSMutableSet or NSValue is supported by NSUserDefaults. At this point I am considering saving the x&y values of the CGPoint as a string and just converting it back and forth as needed.

  • How do you compare music data

    i want to write an app to rename sort and organize my music library (mp3's, wav's, flac's). I wanted to take a portion of the song, say the first minutes, and compare that to a database and then retrieve the song name and tag information. I have heard that you can do this with last.fm but a look through their api info didn't help. My question is, what is this called so i can google it better? nothing i am trying is helping much. This would be similar to the shazam android app. My prefered language would be java, so i can run it on a few operating systems easier, but that might be subject to change depending on how i can do it.   • no DOM in wordpress admin

    I correctly inserted a javascript file into the wordPress admin with : wp_enqueue_script() I know that the script is loading. I tested it with an alert(). I then found that I am unable to access the DOM. When I tried : document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].addEventListener('load', function() {}); This error was: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'addEventListener' of undefined This is the first time I have used 'settings api' or inserted scripts into the WordPress admin.
