  • SVN repository browser issue

    Hi, I use TortoiseSVN on WindowsXP and ran into an issue inside repository browser today. Basically, I can browser/checkout fine at application level "https://domain/svn/app1". However, When I try to browse at the root level of the repository "https://domain/svn/", the following error msg displays: OPTIONS of 'https://domain/svn': 200 OK I try to access https://domain/svn in a web browser, I can see all the applications there.   • Business Objects ver 3 Alternate Row/Column Colors not active

    I am converting reports from version 2 to version 3. When I select the vertical table in the report, the propeties box appears but any changes I make is not reflected in the table. If I change any attributes at the column or cell level however, the changes are taken. The problem is that some attributes like alternate row coloring are not available at the column level.

  • Are self-described / auto-descriptive services loosely or tightly coupled in a SOA architecture ?

    I consider a self-described / auto-descriptive service as a good thing in a SOA architecture, since (almost) everything you know to call the service is present in the service contract (such a WSDL). Sample of a non self-described service for me is Facebook Query Language (FQL http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/FQL), or any web service exchanging XML flow in a one String parameter for then parsing XML and performing treatments. Last ones seem further more technically decoupled, since technically you can switch implementations without technical impact on the caller, handling compatibility between implementations/versions at a business level. On the other side, having no strong interface (diluted into the service and its version), make the service tightly coupled to the existing implementation (more difficulty to interchange the service and to ensure perfect compatibility).     I have written a simple python module, it has this code: _log = logging.getLogger("mymodule") _started = False def set_log_level(level): _log.setLevel(level) if not _started: _hdlr = logging.FileHandler('mymodule.log') When I call set_log_level() program fails because symbol _started is not found. It is normal because global _started is missing in the method. But my question is: symbol _log has the same visibility as _started, so why does this symbol can be found? BR, // Toby

    I've searched many places and haven't get found the answer to this, I suspect I'm missing something either fundamental or basic (maybe both) I'm using the chef-client::windows_service recipe and trying to set the interval and can't seem to sort it out. I've tried at the role level with: { "defaults": { "chef_client": { "interval":15 } }, "overrides":{ } } and at the node level with: { "chef_client": { "interval":25 }, "tags":[] } but the interval on the node is still 1800 (default)

    I have several different content type nodes (videos, image galleries, stories...) that I would like to categorize and create a top-level page that aggregates these nodes. So for example, the top-level page would have teaser thumbnails very similar to the front page view but of course filtered for that topic (like for instance automobiles, and motorcycles would have its own page, etc...). What is the best way to accomplish this? Taxonomy? Views?

    I constantly find myself creating sites using newer technologies (such as HTML 5 and CSS 3, then adding either backwards compatibility layers or porting entirely to XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.1. This process often involves replacing CSS with sprite images and adding in flash components for advanced asynchronous support. My question is when can I can start to use the modern standards exclusively. Do I need to wait until Internet Explorer 9 is released or is it acceptable to request users switch to a "better" browser? Furthermore, if dropping compatibility for non HTML 5 browsers is an option, is it reasonable to ask mainstream users to install the Google Frame Frame? Thanks.

    I want to implement a collapsible menu. I plan to use table component to simulate a menu, and nest a sub table into a table cell to simulate a sub menu. Other browsers will calculate the offset base on the level 2 menu, that works as expected. Is it a bug in Firefox? If so how can I work around it? I want my code to have the same behavior in all major browsers.

    I have a list of items stored in the DB, simplified schema is like this: id, parent, name I need to generate a tree structure (in a form of a multi-dimensional array) that can be infinite levels deep. Top level items would have parent = 0. Next level down would have parent equal to the the id of the parent item, fairly straight forward. What would be the best way to do this, while consuming as little resources as possible?

    I'm trying to generate top-level abstract class with JCodeModel library, but I can't find any way to change class modifiers. It's possible for nested classes (JDefinedClass API provides methods that get modifiers as parameters). But for creation of top level classes I found only JCodeModel API methods that get fully qualified name with or without ClassType (class/interface/annotation/enum) as parameters. Does anybody can suggest me how to change modifiers of JDefinedClass to make it abstract?

    I'm using this example code to grayscale an image,but the result is not right: I = imread('coins.png'); level = graythresh(I); BW = im2bw(I,level); imshow(BW) Where to see how graythresh is actually implemented? BTW,is there a reason for using matlab feels so alike with python? Or is it known that graythresh doesn't work well for images with little spatial resolution(like 62*21 ones)?
