    I know its possible to use WebSockets within C# using a console application running along side the web application but Im wondering if its possible to use the requests on the C# web application to create the WebSockets. I've been looking through ASP.Net and Im starting to think it wont be possible unless I use straight up C# and create my own HTTP server and then use the same socket object to generate Web Sockets (similar to the way Node.js and Socket.IO work). Any thoughts on ways to include WebSockets on a C# web application without having multiple servers / projects?

    I have a normal MFC Application with an embedded icon. If I start the application, the icon is shown inside the windows-7 taskbar. But when I change the icon inside the resources, rebuild the application and start it, the taskbar doesn't show the current icon, but the icon from the first run. There is no special code inside the application that does something specific with the windows-7 taskbar. Is there a way, (in C++) to tell the windows-7 taskbar to show the current icon?

I'm making the application backgrounded by setting "Application is background only" in the Info.plist But no matter what I do I can't make any window the keyWindow. makeKeyWindow makeKeyAndOrderFront Both don't work...     Is there a way to monitor when an application that is using the dll closes? The DLL and the application are both C#, neither are Windows Forms. I can check when the main application is closing, but I would like for the DLL to see "hey the program is closing and releasing me, I should do this real quick before I die". Any way to do it? Or am I stuck having the application dish out "do this before you die"?

That thread will run continously after the application startup with a sleep time of 10 seconds (This will update the application cache from getting the data from DB). I have seen that you can use Application_Start() but this is only fired once the first request comes to the application. I need the timer to start as soon as the application is running so that it can check for work to process even if a user is not interacting with the site.
