  • delete elements in xml?

    i've got some elements in a xml document i want to delete. so i want to create another xml document without those elements. here is an example of how it looks like at the moment: <entity id="1000070"> <name>apple</name> <type>category</type> <entities> <entity id="7002870"> <name>mac</name> <type>category</type> <entities> <entity id="7002907"> <name>leopard</name> <type>sub-category</type> <entities> <entity id="7024080"> <name>safari</name> <type>subject</type> </entity> <entity id="7024701"> <name>finder</name> <type>subject</type> </entity> </entities> </entity> </entities> </entity> <entity id="7024080"> <name>iphone</name> <type>category</type> <entities> <entity id="7024080"> <name>3g</name> <type>sub-category</type> </entity> <entity id="7024701"> <name>3gs</name> <type>sub-category</type> </entity> </entities> </entity> <entity id="7024080"> <name>ipad</name> <type>category</type> </entity> </entities> </entity> i want to create another xml document without the sub-category and subject elements. so the new one will look like this: <entity id="1000070"> <name>apple</name> <type>category</type> <entities> <entity id="7002870"> <name>mac</name> <type>category</type> </entity> <entity id="7024080"> <name>iphone</name> <type>category</type> </entity> <entity id="7024080"> <name>ipad</name> <type>category</type> </entity> </entities> </entity> should i use simplexml/php or xslt to do this? are there other ways? would be great with some code examples...thanks!

    This question is related to a number of other questions on oAuth on the Compact Framework (one, two) but seems slightly more specific to me, as it specifically involves getting Twitters xAuth API call (meant for non web applications to be able to do oAuth) working on the Compact Framework. Are SSL HTTP connections and the encryption methods needed for xAuth needed part of Compact Framework 3.5? Did anyone get the Twitter xAuth working on Windows Mobile already? If so, what libraries did you use for this? Any tips are welcome.

  • An equivalent of -javaagent in C#? Or: ways to use a java framework in C#.

    Hi everyone. This is probably something I should be able to figure out by myself, but I'm not having much luck so I figured I'd ask. The issue: I'm translating a system from java to C# and they use a java framework that I'd really like to use, since it takes care of the most complex parts of the system, which I would otherwise have to implement myself. I have the source code of this framework. I know there are several possibilities for using java libraries in C# (although I'm not familiar with any of them, so I'd appreciate suggestions). So far I've thought of using IKVM.NET to generate a .dll, but I'm not sure what to do next, because in java in order to run the framework with your code you're supposed to use the option -javaagent by adding -javaagent:bin/deuceAgent.jar (where deuceAgent is the framework) to your java command line. I don't know what the equivalent in C# would be once I have my .dll, or whether there's an equivalent at all. Any help? Thanks so much.

  • Code Contracts Vs. Object Initializers (.net 4.0)

    At face value, it would seem that object initializers present a problem for .net 4.0 "code contracts", where normally the invariant should be established by the time the object constructor is finished. Presumably, however, object-initializers require properties to be set after construction is complete. My question is if the invariants of "code contracts" are able to handle object initializers, "as if" the properties were set before the constructor completes? That would be very nice indeed!!

  • supress warning for generated c# code

    I have turned on "Treat warnings as errors" for my VS project which mean that I get errors for missing documentation (nice reminder for this particular project). However, part of the code is generated by a custom tool which does not insert xml documentation so I'm looking for away to ignore the missing xml documentation for the generated code only, not for the entire project. I have no influence on the actual file generated and cannot really insert anything in the file (as it is regenerated frequently by the tool) so I looking for something existing outside the generated file (the classes that are generated are partial, if that helps)
