  • Undefined method for a belongs_to association

    My code: class User < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :university end class University < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :users, dependent: :destroy end and my model User has a university_id attribute.     I'm trying to create a view that only houses reusable HTML blocks that can be used by other views. Wanted to know if something like this is possible: In views.home.common.scala.html: @component1 = { some common html } @component2 = { some other stuff } In views.home.sample.scala.html: @(user:User) import home._ @component1 @common.component2 Haven't had any luck thus far and I don't see anything similar in the samples but the idea is covered in the Template common use cases.

  • Finding relative libraries when using symlinks to ruby executables

    Imagine you have an executable foo.rb, with libraries bar.rb layed out in the following manner: <root>/bin/foo.rb <root>/lib/bar.rb In the header of foo.rb you place the following require to bring in functionality in bar.rb: require File.dirname(__FILE__)+"../lib/bar.rb" This works fine so long as all calls to foo.rb are direct. If you put as say $HOME/project, and symlink foo.rb into $HOME/usr/bin, then __FILE__ resolves to $HOME/usr/bin/foo.rb, and is thus unable to locate bar.rb in relation to the dirname for foo.rb. I realize that packaging systems such as rubygems fix this by creating a namespace to search for the library, and that it is also possible to adjust the load_path using $: to include $HOME/project/lib, but it seems as if a more simple solution should exist. Has anyone had experience with this problem and found a useful solution or recipe?

  • Where are Wireless Profiles stored in Ubuntu [closed]

    Where does Ubuntu store profiles that allow it to remember the credentials to private wireless networks that it has previously authenticate to and used? I just replaced my Uncle's hard drive with a new one and installed Ubuntu 10.04 on it (he had Ubuntu 9.10 on his old hard drive. He is at my house right now, and I want him to be able to access his private wireless network when he gets home. Usually, when I upgrade Ubuntu, I have his /home directory on another partition, so his wireless profile to his own network persists. However, right now, I'm trying to figure out which .folder I need to copy from his /home/user folder on the old hard drive, to the new hard drive, so that he will be able to have wireless Internet when he gets home. Does anyone know with certainty, exactly which folder I need to copy to the new hard drive to achieve this?

    My problem is like this (OS is Sun Solaris): 1) At the boot time I want to start a process using a specific script. I am doing this by putting this script in /etc/init.d (and following other K and S rules) 2) The program which will be called by the script is located at $HOME/xxx/yyy location. 4) I am using 'su - {myuser} -c "{full path of the program}"' in order to execute the script as {myuser} 3) I dont want to hardcode the value of $HOME in the script but want to use the $HOME env variable only. How can I get this $HOME env variable in the shell script? Also what other variables will be available to me?

    I need some help with priviligies in centos I have a file in home/admin/public_html/generate.php that I want to do some file copy with using php copy function When I set the file to chown admin:admin generate.php I can access the file but I cannot execute the php copy command because I don't have the proper rights. When I set the file to root:root generate.php I cant access the file beacuse its under admin user folder home/admin/public_html/generate.php how do I solve please, thankful for any help. Bottom line is that I want my generate.php which is owned by admin:admin to be able to copy files from sources outside its home dir and to other home dirs I am using CENTOS

  • Must JsUnit Cases Reside Under the Same Directory as JsUnit?

    I have installed JsUnit and a test case as follows: /home/chernevik/Programming/JavaScript/jsunit /home/chernevik/Programming/JavaScript/jsunit/testRunner.html /home/chernevik/Programming/JavaScript/jsunit/myTests/lineTestAbs.html /home/chernevik/Programming/JavaScript/lineTestAbs.html When I open the test runner in a browser as a file, and test lineTestAbs.html from the jsunit/myTests directory, it passes. When I test the same file from the JavaScript directory, the test runner times out, asking if the file exists or is a test page. Questions: Am I doing something wrong here, or is this the expected behavior? Is it possible to put test cases in a different directory structure, and if so what is the proper path reference to to JsUnitCore.js? What I mean by this is that you mount your FUSE file system somewhere (say in /mnt) such that the FUSE file system passes all filesystem calls to some other place (say /home/user). For example, when you go into the /mnt directory and run "ls", this would pass the file system calls to execute ls through and run them on /home/user, such that the directory contents of /home/userwould be listed

    I've used this tutorial to highlight the current page in the menu. I have a pages controller with a few static pages, for the home page I simply have def home @title = 'Home and similar for contact pages etc. Then in my main layout file I have <body class="<%= @title %>"> and this works fine to set the correct css, but how do I set @title for my other controllers where there's more than one action?

    I'm trying to setup Jenkins on my mac mini in order to pull my iOS project source code from BitBucket and build it automatically. I've already gone through the major well know problems generating the ssh keys,uploading them in BitBucket,performing an ssh connection by console for adding the host to the well know list (you can find all my adventure here and here). Now,there are 3 user in my system: A,B and Shared. When I installed Jenkins it automatically placed itself in Shared, but I generated the ssh keys with the user A. The odd things is that if I try to run /usr/local/git/bin/git clone --progress -o origin [email protected]:myuser/myproject.git /Users/Shared/Jenkins/Home/jobs/myprojectAdHocBuild/workspace In my console, it works fine (after fixing a small problem relative the folder write permission with chmod) I found a post reporting a similar error which names a number of possible options but I'm not sure how to perform correctly these operations on my console.
