    In a Publishing site I have web part that has to show news items from the list that has Audience Targeting field. I am using CAML query to retrieve small number of last news items. Is it possible to specify Target Audience in the CAML query ? If not, how should I do it ? Retrieve all results and than apply filter in a loop ? I am practically duplicating Content Query Web Part and I need Audience Targeting in my custom web part.

  • Sorting By Multiple Conditions in Ruby

    I have a collection of Post objects and I want to be able to sort them based on these conditions: First, by category (news, events, labs, portfolio, etc.) Then by date, if date, or by position, if a specific index was set for it Some posts will have dates (news and events), others will have explicit positions (labs, and portfolio). I want to be able to call posts.sort!, so I've overridden <=>, but am looking for the most effective way of sorting by these conditions. Below is a pseudo method: def <=>(other) # first, everything is sorted into # smaller chunks by category self.category <=> other.category # then, per category, by date or position if self.date and other.date self.date <=> other.date else self.position <=> other.position end end It seems like I'd have to actually sort two separate times, rather than cramming everything into that one method. Something like sort_by_category, then sort!. What is the most ruby way to do this?

I am writing my first app in ASP.NET MVC Framework and i have a problem with checking privileges to use instances of model classes (read, edit). Sample code looks like this: // Controller action [CustomAuthorize(Roles="Editor, Admin")] public ActionResult Stats(int id) { User user = userRepository.GetUser(id); if (user == null || !user.Activated || user.Removed) return View("NotFound"); else if (!user.IsCurrentSessionUserOwned) return View("NotAuthorized"); return View(user); } So far authorize attribute protects only controller actions, so my question is: how to make (custom) authorize attribute to check not only user role, usernames but also did i.e. resources instantiated in action methods (above: User class, but there are other ORM objects like News, Photos etc.) All of these object to check have their unique ID's, so user have own ID, News have their ID and UserID field referecned to Users table (i mean these objects are LINQ2SQL classes). How should i resolve that problem?

    Hi, I'm now working on my output of the feeds I'm taking in from some site. What I'm currently doing is Time, and i want it to be displayed in a maybe, little be special way.. like this.. today, 14:12 yesterday, 15:34 27/12, 15:24 i have this in my code = news.entry_published.strftime("%d/%m, %H:%M") That gives me an error saying undefined method `strftime' for "2010-12-30 19:26:00.000000":String And it dosn't do what i want with the days.. Edit: - @date = DateTime.strptime(news.entry_published, "%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S") = @date.strftime("%d/%m, %H:%M") Now works, and gives this output 30/12, 19:26 But i still have to check if it is today, yesterday or just another day.   • why do we all learn and study java or .net or why java or .net are popular?

    My question to be clear is why do we all need to learn java or .net(C#) , still java or .net are more popular than delphi or c++ and even there are lot of resource,articles or books compared to c++ or delphi about java and .net. However, I heard majority, if I am right about 80% of software are developed using c++ or delphi in the software industry. so, why do we bother about other languages specifically about the cosmopolitan languages such as java or .net in education as well as for job interview. Although, still I know the elegance of java and .net, their safe code execution,fully objected oriented behavior ...etc, but still according to the statics they are not preferred on software develpement as a primary language mainly because of their execution time compared to c++ or delphi. So my question are why do they choose them for jobs or educational purpose and everything else? why do we lose our time learning these language if we are forced to use the other languages in the industry?

    Hi, is there any possibility how to fetch any specific type of posts from facebook news feed via graph api?For example on my news feed I have statutuses, links, photos, vidoes, and so on..I only want to get the ones with type=status over graph api..I have seen some get parameters in documentation, but nothing like ?type=link..So I have tried /me/home?type=link, but unsurprisingly it have not worked:D So does anyone know how to do that?I can filter it in my PHP app, but then I need to get some further data..When I got 20 posts and only 10 would be statuses, I need to add the 10 remaiming?     Hello guys, I have some questions that I think some one here can help me ... I have published 5 apps in AppStore that brings news to the users, for different countries. One app per country, because no one want's to read the news of other countrys. Now, I have submitted 3 more apps to publish and Apple reject it, because they say that I need to use "In App Purchase" because the apps are similar ... I have seen many similar apps published by the same user .. so, my question is, how can I publish many similar apps without "In App Purchase"? I have used the same "bundle Id" for all of my apps .. Is it wrong? I need the create one bundle Id per app to get this work and the ok by Apple? Thanks you very much and sorry for my limited english!!

    Hello, Actually im doing a home page that only have an action called Index() that returns the view Index.ascx. This index page will be composed by lastest news and lastest registered users, i think that create two partial views is the best idea (this way i could use it in other views). for other hand i have a data access class that calls to database for get stuff (get last news, get last users, etc...) My question is simple, should i call to the this data access class in the Index() action of my HomeController, and add to the ViewData the data obtained?     Is a software engineering degree sufficient for being able to design efficient code in enterprise architecture ? I mean that's what I want to do, some people go to game schools (Vancouver Film School) to make games or work in that industry. are there such similar programs for enterprise software design/development ?     Hey guys, In my Flex 4 app, I access an RSS feed (I'm using http://news.ycombinator.com/rss as a dummy). It works okay when I run it from Flash Builder 4, but if I export the project and upload it, I get the following error when it tries to load the RSS feed: Error #2044: Unhandled securityError:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: my_website_url cannot load data from http://news.ycombinator.com/rss. What could be causing this error? Shouldn't RSS be able to be accessed from anywhere? Thanks for reading.

  • Forward web request for directory index ('/') to an index.htm page in JBoss 4.0.5

    I am using JBoss 4.0.5.GA to run a set of java applications. One of them is a web frontend, using Spring 1.4. URL mappings are configured in a way that 'fake' pages from request URLs are mapped to controllers. That means that when someone requests /index.htm, there's no actual 'index.htm' on disk, and that request maps to a specific conroller which then renders a jsp view. So the problem is as follows: I need to tell JBoss to somehow forward all requests for directory indices to corresponding 'index.htm' URLs like so: / ? /index.htm; /news/ ? /news/index.htm; /foo/bar/baz/ ? /foo/bar/baz/index.htm and so on. I can't use Tomcat's welcome-file-list feature because it looks for those files on disk, while all 'index.htm's are fake and don't actually exist on disk.

    With the new Zend_Application/Zend_Application_Bootstrap classes I'm confused as to where I should be applying my custom routes. For example, at the moment I have one route: protected function _initRouter() { $router = new Zend_Controller_Router_Rewrite; $route = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route('news/:id', array('controller' => 'news', 'action' => 'view')); $router->addRoute('postArchive', $route); } This method is in my Zend_Application_Bootstrap_Bootstrap and is definitely run. The route is also applied in $router. As I see it I could be doing two things wrong - either the wrong place to add these routes, or not adding to the correct router. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?
