  • Android XML-RPC Serialization Issue

    - by Josh Pennington
    I am attempting to use Android XML-RPC and for some calls I get the following exception: W/System.err( 837): java.io.IOException: Cannot serialize java.lang.Object@43759748 It looks like it is having troubles serializing the returned data, but I cannot find much documentation on how to actually use Android XML-RPC. The way I am using Android XML-RPC is as follows: Object response = (Object)client.call("sales_order.list", new Object()); This one is pretty odd. I have tried setting this call up in a few different ways (using HashMaps, not passing second variable, etc) and the response I get is that sales_order.list is not a valid Method. I have been able to login to the service using the following code: this.sessionId = (String)client.call("login", this.apiUserName, this.apiPassword); Does anyone have any ideas or a good resource on how to use Android XML-RPC? Thanks

  • Fork to shell script and terminate original process with Haskell

    - by Neth
    I am currently writing a Haskell program that does some initialization work and then calls ncmpcpp. What I am trying to do is start ncmpcpp and terminate the Haskell program, so that only ncmpcpp is left (optionally, the program can keep running in the background, as long as it's unintrusive) However, even though I am able to start ncmpcpp, I cannot interact with it. I see its output, but input appears to be impossible. What I am currently doing is: import System.Process (createProcess, proc) ... spawnCurses :: [String] -> IO () spawnCurses params = do _ <- createProcess (proc "ncmpcpp" params) return () What am I doing wrong/What should I do differently?

  • Java: global values inside a class?

    - by HH
    I want less methods. I want a common global TestClass from which I could use any of its value inside the class. import java.util.*; import java.io.*; public class TestClass { TestClass(String hello){ String hallo = hello; String halloSecond = "Saluto!"; } public static void main(String[] args) { TestClass test = new TestClass("Tjena!"); System.out.println("I want "Tjena!": " + test.hallo); TestClass testSecond = new TestClass("1"); System.out.println("I want Saluto!:" + test.halloSecond); System.out.println("I want Saluto!:" + testSecond.halloSecond); } }

  • The ultimate c# file and directory utility library?

    - by Serge van den Oever
    I find myself writing file and directory utility functions all the time, and I was wondering if there is good file and directory library that already implements a more extensive set than available by default in System.IO. The kind of functions I'm looking for is things like: public static void GetTemporaryDirectory() { string tempDirectory = Path.Combine(Path.GetTempPath(), Path.GetRandomFileName()); Directory.CreateDirectory(tempDirectory); return tempDirectory; } public static void CreateEmptyFile(string filename) { File.Create(filename).Dispose(); } public static void CreateEmptyFile(string path, string filename) { File.Create(Path.Combine(path, filename)).Dispose(); } public static void CreateDirectory(string path) { Directory.CreateDirectory(path); } public static void CreateDirectory(string path, string childpath) { Directory.CreateDirectory(Path.Combine(path, childpath)); }

  • Using methods on 2 input files - 2nd is printing multiple times - Java

    - by Aaa
    I have the following code to read in text, store in a hashmap as bigrams (with other methods to sort them by frequency and do v. v. basic additive smoothing. I had it working great for one language input file (english) and then I want to expand it for the second language input file (japanese - doens;t matter what it is I suppose) using the same methods but the Japanese bigram hashmap is printing out 3 times in a row with diff. values. I've tried using diff text in the input file, making sure there are no gaps in text etc. I've also put print statements at certain places in the Japanese part of the code to see if I can get any clues but all the print statements are printing each time so I can't work out if it is looping at a certain place. I have gone through it with a fine toothcomb but am obviously missing something and slowly going crazy here - any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance... package languagerecognition2; import java.lang.String; import java.io.InputStreamReader; import java.util.*; import java.util.Iterator; import java.util.List.*; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.AbstractMap.*; import java.lang.Object; import java.io.*; import java.util.Enumeration; import java.util.Arrays; import java.lang.Math; public class Main { /** public static void main(String[] args) { //training English ----------------------------------------------------------------- File file = new File("english1.txt"); StringBuffer contents = new StringBuffer(); BufferedReader reader = null; try { reader = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file)); String test = null; //test = reader.readLine(); // repeat until all lines are read while ((test = reader.readLine()) != null) { test = test.toLowerCase(); char[] charArrayEng = test.toCharArray(); HashMap<String, Integer> hashMapEng = new HashMap<String, Integer>(bigrams(charArrayEng)); LinkedHashMap<String, Integer> sortedListEng = new LinkedHashMap<String, Integer>(sort(hashMapEng)); int sizeEng=sortedListEng.size(); System.out.println("Total count of English bigrams is " + sizeEng); LinkedHashMap<String, Integer> smoothedListEng = new LinkedHashMap<String, Integer>(smooth(sortedListEng, sizeEng)); //print linkedHashMap to check values Set set= smoothedListEng.entrySet(); Iterator iter = set.iterator ( ) ; System.out.println("Beginning English"); while ( iter.hasNext()) { Map.Entry entry = ( Map.Entry ) iter.next ( ) ; Object key = entry.getKey ( ) ; Object value = entry.getValue ( ) ; System.out.println( key+" : " + value); } System.out.println("End English"); }//end while }//end try catch (FileNotFoundException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } finally { try { if (reader != null) { reader.close(); } } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } //End training English----------------------------------------------------------- //Training japanese-------------------------------------------------------------- File file2 = new File("japanese1.txt"); StringBuffer contents2 = new StringBuffer(); BufferedReader reader2 = null; try { reader2 = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file2)); String test2 = null; //repeat until all lines are read while ((test2 = reader2.readLine()) != null) { test2 = test2.toLowerCase(); char[] charArrayJap = test2.toCharArray(); HashMap<String, Integer> hashMapJap = new HashMap<String, Integer>(bigrams(charArrayJap)); //System.out.println( "bigrams stage"); LinkedHashMap<String, Integer> sortedListJap = new LinkedHashMap<String, Integer>(sort(hashMapJap)); //System.out.println( "sort stage"); int sizeJap=sortedListJap.size(); //System.out.println("Total count of Japanese bigrams is " + sizeJap); LinkedHashMap<String, Integer> smoothedListJap = new LinkedHashMap<String, Integer>(smooth(sortedListJap, sizeJap)); System.out.println( "smooth stage"); //print linkedHashMap to check values Set set2= smoothedListJap.entrySet(); Iterator iter2 = set2.iterator(); System.out.println("Beginning Japanese"); while ( iter2.hasNext()) { Map.Entry entry2 = ( Map.Entry ) iter2.next ( ) ; Object key = entry2.getKey ( ) ; Object value = entry2.getValue ( ) ; System.out.println( key+" : " + value); }//end while System.out.println("End Japanese"); }//end while }//end try catch (FileNotFoundException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } finally { try { if (reader2 != null) { reader2.close(); } } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } //end training Japanese--------------------------------------------------------- } //end main (inner)

  • Freeing a character pointer returns error

    - by Kraffs
    I'm trying to free a character pointer after having used it but it returns a strange error. The error says: "_CrtDbgREport: String too long or IO Error" The debugger itself returns no errors while compiling. The code currently looks like this: void RespondToUser(SOCKET client, SOCKET server) { char buffer[80]; char *temp = malloc(_scprintf("HTTP/1.1 200 OK\r\n%s\r\nServer: %s\r\nConnection: close\r\n\r\nHi!", buffer, SERVER_NAME)); sprintf(temp, "HTTP/1.1 200 OK\r\n%s\r\nServer: %s\r\nConnection: close\r\n\r\nHi!", buffer, SERVER_NAME); send(client, temp, strlen(temp), 0); closesocket(client); free(temp); ListenToUsers(server); } The problem only occurs when I try to free the temp pointer from the memory and not otherwise. What might be causing this?

  • PrivateFontCollection fails on appharbor

    - by grennis
    I am trying to load a custom font (ttf file) and draw into an image with the Graphics object. This code runs fine locally: PrivateFontCollection fonts = new PrivateFontCollection(); string path = context.Server.MapPath("~/App_Data/Futura LT Bold.ttf"); if (!System.IO.File.Exists(path)) { throw new InvalidOperationException("Font file is not deployed: " + path); } fonts.AddFontFile(path); However when run on appharbor, the call to AddFontFile fails with the exception: System.ArgumentException: Font 'Futura LT Book' does not support style 'Regular'. at System.Drawing.Font.CreateNativeFont() at System.Drawing.Font.Initialize(FontFamily family, Single emSize, FontStyle style, GraphicsUnit unit, Byte gdiCharSet, Boolean gdiVerticalFont) at System.Drawing.Font..ctor(FontFamily family, Single emSize) at LumenboxWeb.Controllers.GalleryController.FontTest() in d:\temp\h5oqslma.udd\input\src\LumenboxWeb\Controllers\GalleryController.cs:line 59 at lambda_method(Closure , ControllerBase , Object[] ) at System.Web.Mvc.ActionMethodDispatcher.Execute(ControllerBase controller, Object[] parameters) at System.Web.Mvc.ReflectedActionDescriptor.Execute(ControllerContext controllerContext, IDictionary`2 parameters) I have tried different fonts, and they all work locally, but none work on appharbor. Is it possible to load fonts dynamically on appharbor?

  • VB.NET encoding one character wrong

    - by Nick Spiers
    I have a byte array that I'm encoding to a string: Private Function GetKey() As String Dim ba() As Byte = {&H47, &H43, &H44, &H53, &H79, &H73, &H74, &H65, &H6D, &H73, &H89, &HA, &H1, &H32, &H31, &H36} Dim strReturn As String = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ba) Return strReturn End Function Then I write that to a file via IO.File.AppendAllText. If I open that file in 010 Editor (to view the binary data) it displays as this: 47 43 44 53 79 73 74 65 6D 73 3F 0A 01 32 31 36 The original byte array contained 89 at position 11, and the encoded string contains 3F. If I change my encoding to Encoding.Default.GetString, it gives me: 47 43 44 53 79 73 74 65 6D 73 E2 80 B0 0A 01 32 31 36 Any help would be much appreciated!

  • strange behaviour of static method

    - by Cristian Boariu
    Hi, I load a js variable like this: var message = '<%= CAnunturi.CPLATA_RAMBURS_INFO %>'; where the static string CPLATA_RAMBURS_INFO i put like: public static string CPLATA_RAMBURS_INFO = "test"; I use it very well in this method. <script type="text/javascript"> var categoryParam = '<%= CQueryStringParameters.CATEGORY %>'; var subcategoryParam = '<%= CQueryStringParameters.SUBCATEGORY1_ID %>'; var message = '<%= CAnunturi.CPLATA_RAMBURS_INFO %>'; function timedInfo(header) { $.jGrowl(message, { header: header }); }; </script> so the message appears. I do not undersand, why, iso of "test", if i take the value from a static method, ths use of message js var is no longer succesfull (the message no longer appears). public static string CPLATA_RAMBURS_INFO = getRambursInfo(); public static string getRambursInfo() { return System.IO.File.ReadAllText(PathsUtil.getRambursPlataFilePath()); } Any help would be highly appreciated....

  • Can not make a request to google map

  • Accurate clock in Erlang

    - by buddhabrot
    I was thinking about how to implement a process that gives the number of discrete intervals in time that occurred since it started. Am I losing accuracy here? How do I implement this without loss of accuracy after a while and after heavy client abuse. I am kind of stumped how to do this in Erlang. -module(clock). -compile([export_all]). start(Time) -> register(clock, spawn(fun() -> tick(Time, 0) end)). stop() -> clock ! stop. tick(Time, Count) -> receive nticks -> io:format("~p ticks have passed since start~n", [Count]) after 0 -> true end, receive stop -> void after Time -> tick(Time, Count + 1) end.

  • How to to dump JS array... (boommarklet?)

    - by Soulhuntre
    A page on a site I use is holding some of my data hostage. Once I have logged into the site and navigated to the right page, the data I need is in the array eeData[] - it is 720 elements long (once every 2 minutes of a given day). Rather than simulate the requests to the underlying stuff json supplier and since its only once a day, I am happy to simply develop a bookmarklet to grab the data - preferably as a XML or CSV file. Any pointers to sample code or hints would help. I found a bookmarklet here that is based on this script that does part of this - but I am not up to speed on any potential JS file IO to see if it is possible to induce a file "download" of the data, or pop it opn in a new window I can copy / paste.

  • Problem with deployment of windows application using setup wizard.

    - by Mike
    I have some xml files, which are used in my application. They are stored in the same folder with application , in subfolder DATA: "C:\MyProject\DATA\". To get the DATA folder path i use this code : static public string GetDataFolderPath() { string s = System.IO.Directory.GetCurrentDirectory().Replace(@"\bin\Debug", ""); int i = s.LastIndexOf(@"\"); s = s.Substring(0, i); i = s.LastIndexOf(@"\"); s= s.Substring(0, i); return s + @"\Data\"; } So when i want to deploy my application, i create a setup project, and add the DATA folder to Application folder. But after i install the program f.e. "C:\Project"(DATA folder- "C:\Project\DATA" i got the error: "folder C:\DATA is not found". What i need to change to make things working after deployment. Why it looks for the DATA folder on 1 level higher?

  • running code when two events have triggered

    - by Evert
    This is mostly a language-agnostic question. If I'm waiting for two events to complete (say, two IO events or http requests), what is the best pattern to deal with this. One thing I can think of is the following (pseudo js example). request1.onComplete = function() { req1Completed = true; eventsCompleted(); } request2.onComplete = function() { req2Completed = true; eventsCompleted(); } eventsCompleted = function() { if (!req1Completed || !req2Completed) return; // do stuff } Is this the most effective pattern, or are there more elegant ways to solve this issue?

    - by user528050

And my 2nd problem is what is the DataLine is it an interface and what is the meaning of this statement DataLine.Info....?

  • VB.NET Use WebRequest to check if URI is valid

    - by Robbo
    Looking for the best way to determine if a URI exists in VB.NET without downloading the actual content. System.IO.FileExists/My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists can be used locally to determine if a file exists, is there an equivalent for the Web? Currently I am using a HttpWebRequest to check URI existance using the ResponseStream. This populates the stream if the target does exist and throws an exception if it doesn't. The function is being expanded to also check for PDF files (typically 5MB +), images, etc and it will be a waste of time/bandwidth to actually populate the content into a stream. In the case of "Success" (the target does exist) I do not wish to download the file or page, simply to end up with a Boolean which indicates the whether something exists at the end of this URI.

  • Overhead of serving pages - JSPs vs. PHP vs. ASPXs vs. C

    - by John Shedletsky
    I am interested in writing my own internet ad server. I want to serve billions of impressions with as little hardware possible. Which server-side technologies are best suited for this task? I am asking about the relative overhead of serving my ad pages as either pages rendered by PHP, or Java, or .net, or coding Http responses directly in C and writing some multi-socket IO monster to serve requests (I assume this one wins, but if my assumption is wrong, that would actually be most interesting). Obviously all the most efficient optimizations are done at the algorithm level, but I figure there has got to be some speed differences at the end of the day that makes one method of serving ads better than another. How much overhead does something like apache or IIS introduce? There's got to be a ton of extra junk in there I don't need. At some point I guess this is more a question of which platform/language combo is best suited - please excuse the in-adroitly posed question, hopefully you understand what I am trying to get at.

  • Splitting string into array upon token

    - by Gnutt
    I'm writing a script to perform an offsite rsync backup, and whenever the rsyncline recieves some output it goes into a single variable. I then want to split that variable into an array upon the ^M token, so that I can send them to two different logger-sessions (so I get them on seperate lines in the log). My current line to perform the rsync result=rsync --del -az -e "ssh -i $cert" $source $destination 2>&1 Result in the log, when the server is unavailable ssh: connect to host offsite port 22: Connection timed out^M rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes received so far) [sender] rsync error: unexplained error (code 255) at io.c(601) [sender=3.0.7]

  • How to profiling my C++ application on linux

    - by richard
    HI, I would like to profile my c++ application on linux. I would like to find out how much time my application spent on CPU processing vs time spent on block by IO/being idle. I know there is a profile tool call valgrind on linux. But it breaks down time spent on each method, and it does not give me an overall picture of how much time spent on CPU processing vs idle? Or is there a way to do that with valgrind. Thank you.

  • How to Create a Virtual Windows Drive

    - by HyLian
    Hello, I'm trying to create a Windows Virtual Drive ( like c:\ ) to map a remote storage. The main purpose is to do it in a clear way to the user. Therefore the user wouldn't know that he is writing/reading from another site. I was searching for available products, and i find that FUSE is not an option in Windows and WebDAV maps directly the drive, and i would like to build a middle layer between windows and remote storage to implement some kind of services. Another alternatives exists, such as Dokan, that is very expensive, and System.IO.IsolatedStorage Namespace, that doesn't seem to explicity create a new Windows Drive. Probably pismo ( http://www.pismotechnic.com/ ) is the thing that mostly matches my requirements but I would know if there is another alternative, including some Windows ( C++ or .NET ) native API to do that. Thanks for reading :)

  • Is there a way to have a bit bucket pointer? (C/C++)

    - by Crazy Chenz
    Is there a way to have a bit bucket pointer? A lot of IO (specifically input related) system calls return data to a buffer of a specific size. Is there a trick or way to make a sorta bit bucket pointer, so I can accept any amount of data that will be thrown away. Doing something like "char tmp[INT_MAX]" is crazy. The behavior I am looking for is something like /dev/null, only in a pointer world. Not to hopeful on this.... just curious. Thanks, Chenz UPDATE: Perhaps mmap-ing /dev/null. Forgot about that when I asked the question.
