  • Upload photos to Facebook page (not personal profile)

    A couple of the various Linux photo organizer applications (Shotwell & f-spot, at least) let you upload pictures to Facebook, but as far as I can see, that's limited only to albums on your personal page. Am I just missing something, and it is actually possible to use either Shotwell or f-spot to upload to albums in a page you are an administrator for? If not, is there another Picasa-type program that has this feature?

  • jQuery Accordion Plugin: removeClass('selected')

    I am using the Accordion menu to filter a data table. The menu contains two filters, with multiple options under each. You can only have ONE filter selected at a time. If you click between the two options under the first filter, the style class, 'selected' is added and removed without a problem. If you click an option under the second filter though, it DOESN'T remove the 'selected' class from the first filter. Any help would be appreciated.   • Is it possible to implement any kind of file upload recovery / resumption in a browser?

    The project is a servlet to which people can upload files via, at present, HTTP POST. This is accompanied by Web page(s) providing a front-end to trigger the upload. We have more or less complete control over the servlet, and the Web pages, but don't want to impose any restrictions on the client beyond being a reasonably modern browser with Javascript. No Java applets etc. Files may potentially be large, and a possible use case is mobile devices on less reliable networks. Some people on the project are demanding the ability to resume an upload if the network connection goes down. I don't think this is possible with plain HTTP and Javascript in a browser, but I'd love to be proved wrong. Any suggestions?

Basically the function tests if File name is atleast 1 char upto 25 characters long.Contains only valid characters,numbers [no spaces] and are of file types in the list.   • Upload images API on 3rd Party host .. Flickr ?

    I am building an Image Sharing feature for my website, where users can upload images and show it off on my website, through their own profile gallery. Except I dont want to physically host the uploaded images. Are there API's that can allow me to descretly save the uploaded images (from the users) to another Host, such as Flickr, Google etc.. I know Flickr has a good API, but could I use it for this? And does the Flickr Upload API only work with authorised users ? becuase I dont want them to upload to their Flickr account, but just host them with 1 big account so to speak thanks.

If f2 is a directory I would like to copy f1 to this directory (the file name should stay the same). If f2 is a file I would like to copy the contents of f1 to the end of the file f2. So for example if F2 has the contents: 2222222222222 And F1 has the contents 1111111111111 And I do copy(f1,f2) then f2 should become 2222222222222 1111111111111 Thanks!

  • Ubuntu 14.04 VLC Subtitles - Will not attach (unable to drag/drop or upload while viewing)

    I'm new to Ubuntu and a long time user of VLC with the Windows OS. In Windows, I was able to drag and drop the .sfv file onto the playing video and the subtitles would be enabled. In Ubuntu I try to drag and drop the .sfv file and it acts as though the .sfv file is a video and stops the actual video from playing. When I try to attach the .sfv file (view - subtitles - select text subtitles) I'm able to see the .sfv file I'd like to attach/open, although once I click open the file doesn't attach itself to the video. Does anyone know how to help me with this situation? I'm 2 seasons deep into Breaking Bad and attempting to read the body language of the characters during the Spanish parts has gone on way too long.   • How do I share my jQuery plugin with the world?

    I made a plugin for jQuery, which I think is quite useful. It combines an animated colours plugin with an easings plugin, and adds a completely new feature of being able to refer to colours numerically (more useful in hex notation, so 0xff00cc for example) and therefore manipulate them mathematically more easily. I created a repository on github, and it sits there, nobody looks at it. Mostly, I would like people to look at it, use it, and improve it, so I can use the improvements and so on. I think this idea of numerically manipulating colors could be interesting. It makes it easy to change the hue without changing the saturation for example. Combined with animated colors, I think something interesting could be done, but I don't know what exactly. How do I let people know it (or any other project) is there..? I was going to post it on http://plugins.jquery.com which is currently down. Are there any other outlets for this kind of code?

    I've used both Liferay and Alfresco trying to use them as the Document Management System for an intranet. I noticed the following: They use the file system and the database to store files They use a GUID to name the file on the filesystem and that GUID is used as an Id in the database. The GUID-named file is a binary file The GUID-named binary file stores all versions for a given file The path for the file in the DMS doesn't match the one in the file system The URL makes reference to the GUID when a certain file is requested What I want to know is why is this, and what would be the best way of doing it. Like how to would you create the binary file (zip?), and what parts would you keep in the binary file and what parts would you store in the database (meta-data, path?). I'm assuming some of the benefits of doing it like this. As having the same URL for a file, regardless of its current document path. And having only one file even if the file has changed names over time.

  • .tex file remains in use by process when batch file is triggered by .Rnw Sweave processing.

    This is a pretty specialized question. I'm using the Eclipse IDE in a Windows XP environment with the StatET plug-in so I can write R code as an R/Sweave document. This produces a .tex file that is then post processed by pdflatex.exe. When I create the file as normal everything works great (except maybe my file named russfnc2.Rnw seems to result in russfnc.pdf even though pdflatex.exe on the console window correctly says that the output is being writen to russfnc2.pdf). The big problem is when I trigger a batch file from within my Rnw code. My goal here is to spawn a side process that waits for the PDF to be made and uploads it to the server. So the Rnw contains: if(file.exists("rsp.finalize.bat")) {system("rsp.finalize.bat",wait=FALSE,invisible=FALSE)} The batch file calls Rterm.exe to run a script: setwd("C:/theprojectdirectory") while(!file.exists("russfnc.pdf")) { Sys.sleep(1) } Sys.sleep(60) At the end of that script, I use a shell call to launch psftp.exe and upload the files. All of this works fine, when I use my Eclipse profile to trigger Sweave... that is unless I have that batch file at the end of the .Rnw. When it is located there, I get the error message pdflatex.exe: Permission denied: c:\thepath\thetexfile.tex. After that, the .tex file (as far as XP is concerned) is in use by another process and I have to reboot in order to delete it (and, of course, the pdf is not made). If I manually trigger the batch file after pdflatex.exe has done its things, everything works fine. How can I make this work correctly using the tools I'm familiar with vis., R and Dos-style batch files? I'm not sure if this is a SuperUser question or a StackOverflow question, so I'm starting here.
