  • Error importing large MySQL dump file which includes binary BLOBs in Windows

    I'm trying to import a MySQL dump file, which I got from my hosting company, into my Windows dev machine, and i'm running into problems. I'm importing this from the command line, and i'm getting a very weird error: ERROR 2005 (HY000) at line 3118: Unknown MySQL server host '+?*á±dÆ-N+Æ·h^ye"p-i+ Z+-$?P+Y.8+|?+l8/l¦¦î7æ¦X¦XE.ºG[ ;-ï?éµ?º+¦¦].?+f9d릦'+ÿG?-0à¡úè?-?ù??¥'+NÑ' (11004) I'm attaching the screenshot because i'm assuming the binary data will get lost... I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, but two potential issues are the size of the file (2 Gb) which is not insanely large, but it's not trivially small either, and the other is the fact that many of these tables have JPG images in them (which is why the file is 2Gb large, for the most part). Also, the dump was taken in a Linux machine and I'm importing this into Windows, not sure if that could add to the problems (I understand it shouldn't) Now, that binary garbage is why I think the images in the file might be a problem, but i've been able to import similar dumps from the same hosting company in the past, so i'm not sure what might be the issue. Also, trying to look into this file (and line 3118 in particular) is kind of impossible given its size (i'm not really handy with Linux command line tools like grep, sed, etc). The file might be corrupted, but i'm not exactly sure how to check it. What I downloaded was a .gz file, which I "tested" with WinRar and it says it looks OK (i'm assuming gz has some kind of CRC). If you can think of a better way to test it, I'd love to try that. Any ideas what could be going on / how to get past this error? I'm not very attached to the data in particular, since I just want this as a copy for dev, so if I have to lose a few records, i'm fine with that, as long as the schema remains perfectly sound.     I'm trying to install wordpress on my nginx server by following this tutorial: http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-setup-your-own-nginx-powered-wordpress-server/ However, the last command at step 7 gave me a strange error: service nginx reload A copy-paste from my terminal: root@server:~# service nginx reload Reloading nginx configuration: nginx: [emerg] unexpected "o" in /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/wordpress:7 nginx: configuration file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf test failed When I nano into sites-enabled/wordpress, on the 7th line I can't find anything strange: <!DOCTYPE html> <html class=" "> <head prefix="og: http://ogp.me/ns# fb: http://ogp.me/ns/fb# object: http://ogp.me/ns/object# article: http://ogp.me/ns/article# profile: http://ogp.me/ns/profile#"> <meta charset='utf-8'> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge"> Also, I don't see any obvious errors in my nginx.conf file, but maybe I'm not checking something? The first couple of lines of the nginx config file: user www-data; worker_processes 4; pid /var/run/nginx.pid; events { worker_connections 768; # multi_accept on; } Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot in advance!

I went through that thread trying to find a solution, I changed my resolv.conf: before: domain [my work domain] search [my work domain] nameserver [my gateway] nameserver [my gateway2] I changed it to: after: domain [my work domain] search [my work domain] nameserver 8.8.8.8 nameserver 8.8.4.4 However, any time I reboot the computer the resolv.conf gets overwritten to the previous version (the 'before' above).     I am trying to call Python's time.strftime() function using a Unicode format string: u'%d\u200f/%m\u200f/%Y %H:%M:%S' (\u200f is the "Right-To-Left Mark" (RLM).) However, I am getting an exception that the RLM character cannot be encoded into ascii: UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\u200f' in position 2: ordinal not in range(128) I have tried searching for an alternative but could not find a reasonable one. Is there an alternative to this function, or a way to make it work with Unicode characters?

    I have an issue that means I cannot check in changes even if I resolve the issues. I have removed a form from the solution then created a new form with the same name. Now when I go to check in the form I get the following error: Even if I mark all the conflicts as resolved the check in fails with the following error: All conflicts resolved but no files checked in due to initial conflicts. How can I get this to check in?

  • How to load entities into private collections using the entity framework

    I have a POCO domain model which is wired up to the entity framework using the new ObjectContext class. public class Product { private ICollection<Photo> _photos; public Product() { _photos = new Collection<Photo>(); } public int Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public virtual IEnumerable<Photo> Photos { get { return _photos; } } public void AddPhoto(Photo photo) { //Some biz logic //... _photos.Add(photo); } } In the above example i have set the Photos collection type to IEnumerable as this will make it read only. The only way to add/remove photos is through the public methods. The problem with this is that the Entity Framework cannot load the Photo entities into the IEnumerable collection as it's not of type ICollection. By changing the type to ICollection will allow callers to call the Add mentod on the collection itself which is not good. What are my options? Edit: I could refactor the code so it does not expose a public property for Photos: public class Product { public Product() { Photos = new Collection<Photo>(); } public int Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } private Collection<Photo> Photos {get; set; } public IEnumerable<Photo> GetPhotos() { return Photos; } public void AddPhoto(Photo photo) { //Some biz logic //... Photos.Add(photo); } } And use the GetPhotos() to return the collection. The other problem with the approach is that I will loose the change tracking abilities as I cannot mark the collection as Virtual - It is not possible to mark a property as private virtual. In NHibernate I believe it's possible to map the proxy class to the private collection via configuration. I hope that this will become a feature of EF4. Currently i don't like the inability to have any control over the collection!

    I have a class that I am using to model my data in MVC. I have added some DataAnotations to mark fields that are required and I am using regular expressions to check valid Email Addresses. Everything works fine if the object is posted back to MVC and I have the ModelState property that I can check to confirm that the class is valid but how do I check to see if the class is valid outside of MVC using the same class and Data Anotations that I have already set up?

  • healthy DLL reference broken after compile multi-project solution

    Hi. I have a solution with multiple class libraries. When I compile each individual library (and the web site by itself) compilation always succeeds. But, when I compile the solution as a whole, one of the library references fails with a little yellow exclamation mark next to the failed library. I am guessing this has to do with the build order? Can somebody suggest what i have to do to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

Since the table view index API is character-based, I assume that this magnifying glass is a Unicode character. So far I've resorted to placing a question mark character there, but that looks lame. I am trying to set latitude & longitude to some JSON string but every time straight after it sets the variable it changes it back to "undefined" as soon as it passes the line after var latitude? (using firebug & firequery to debug)

    Is it possible to display a static line across a chart which appears at a given point on the Y Axis? So say I have a chart which measures test scores, ranges which 0 to 100 which 70% being the pass mark and therefore displaying a straight line across the chart at this point?
