• Is is possible to parse a web page from the client side for a large number of words and if so, how?

  I have a list of keywords, about 25,000 of them. I would like people who add a certain < script tag on their web page to have these keywords transformed into links. What would be the best way to go and achieve this? I have tried the simple javascript approach (an array with lots of elements and regexping/replacing each) and it obviously slows down the browser. I could always process the content server-side if there was a way, from the client, to send the page's content to a cross-domain server script (I'm partial to PHP but it could be anything) but I don't know of any way to do this. Any other working solution is also welcome.

  My project allows users to create custom css for our flex app. In regards to compiling the CSS into SWFs on the server side: Should I use the flex2.compiler.css.Compiler class in mxmlc-3.5.0.12683.jar? Or Should I invoke mxmlc from Runtime.getRuntime().exec()? The css.Compiler class is not very well documented. Does anyone have any examples that use this? For the Runtime exec method, what is the best way to package mxmlc into the maven build so its available to the server at runtime?

  It would seem there is precious little documentation on programming against a TFS 2010 instance. What bits I have found, have next to nothing in the case of documentation beyond barebones listing of client access classes and their members, most likely autogenerated from the code comments. As I'm interested in building a silverlight client against TFS, I will need access to a server side API. Ideally the silverlight app will talk to my server (mainly for work items) and my server will in turn talk to the TFS server for the goods. Where is the doumentation (if any) for this kind of TFS integration?

(I am the page creator/admin) Please don't just give an answer "add the box to the page". Cause I really don't know how. Also, it seems that putting $facebook-api_client-profile_setFBML and $facebook-api_client-profile_setInfo for the application won't provide a way for the page to add the box. Now, My Question is . I have to display these lines in a textarea. But these lines should not be displayed at once . Each line should be appended in textarea with some delay. (Use of setInterval is required as per my knowledge) . Also I am using jquery in my templates. The server used is Django . Please provide some solution as in some sample code will be quite helpful .

  we have implemented the code for installing the messenger theme pack using the client side scripting in a web page. We are creating an object of the messenger using the classid .Using this object we call the installcontent() method and try to install the messenger theme pack hosted at following path: http://www.messengerexpressions.com/assets/worldCup/cabs/en-gb.cab Our code initially checks whether the messenger is installed on the user machine or not. Then it checks for the user login ,once the messenger is installed on the machine. And if the user is signed-in , the messenger theme pack is installed. The code currently when hosted on IIS checks the “Sign-In of the user” but when it tries to install the theme pack an error is thrown “An ActiveX control on this page is unsafe.Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe control on this page.As a result,this page may not be display as intended.” Please let us know if any setting is required on IIS for running this piece of codeor anything that we are missing out.

  How can I Submit client side computer user's answers(to a multiple choice question) to the server using JAVA I have a centralized server and about 1000 client systems. In these 1000 systems students take multiple choice quiz at at time (in some 2 hrs time). Now i've to send all these answers of these questions to the server in an asynchronous threaded queue when the student answer each question (all 1000 students) Also client have to wait if the server connection is a failure, in this case students should be able to continue taking quiz/exam. When I get the connection these answers in queue should be submitted to the server system. How can I solve this problem? Please suggest/help me in this.

  I thought by placing these two lines that it would prevent the page from being cached but this is not the case between the head tags: <meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache" /> <meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache" /> As already mentioned this is on server that doesn't support PHP (or any server side language, well, that's not true, it has cgi-bin folder that supports perl scripts but I don't know perl and have no time to engage in it.) What else could I do to prevent the page from caching? It caches on Firefox and IE (and not so much in Chrome or Safari.)

  I have a jQuery plugin I use to dynamically create and render a form on a default.aspx asp.net page, then submit it. The page it gets submitted to is a pdf.aspx page. The page builds a PDF then uses Response.Write to write the file (application/pdf) to the browser. I use the same method to render XLSX files to the browser as well. It works really great, but I need a callback or some event to tell the button when to stop spinning. This prevents the user from continuously clicking the Excel or PDF buttons. Does anyone know a way to detect the file dialog window when it was not created using javascript? I am also open to other methods of callback from the server side as well.

  Simple problem I have so far always solved via PHP: You have a site with header, menu, footer and content field. Header, menu and footer are usually the same for each page. How do you, without PHP or any other server-side language, have the header, menu and footer data exist only in one file? So that for example you don't have ten sites (like home.html, products.html, about.html, ..) all having a copy of the static header and menu in their html files. Now if you want to change the header you have to change ten files. I hope I made my question clear enough, if not please leave a comment :)

• Make graphics on left and right side of text change width depending on the amount of text?

  I need to have an H1 tag centered between two graphics on the left and right of the text. The H1 text will be various widths depending on what page you are on. The dot on the left should stay on the left edge of the site and the line should extend until it reaches the edge of the text. Same for the right side. Is there a way to accomplish this by using CSS or even some jquery/javascript? In the attached graphic, if the text was just "WHO YOU ARE" I'd need the bars on the left and right to grow wider to bump up against the edges of the text.

  Thanks for any help I have a web application, and the submit uses the PostBackUrl to display data if the form is valid. I need to use different (server side) validation groups, depending on what radiobutton is selected. That is, manually call Page.Validate('ValidationGroupA'). The validation itself is working fine, in terms of Page.IsValid correctly assigned true or false. however, if the page is not valid, the page redirects to the page specified by PostBackUrl on the submit button, where the page is found not to be valid, and the client redirected back with: if (!PreviousPage.IsValid){Response.Redirect("DataEntryPage.aspx");}) However, by getting to here and back again, all form data is lost, and the relevant validation controls and summaries are not displayed. is there an equivalent of javascripts evt.preventDefault() or some other way, once it is detected validation has failed after a manual call to Page.Validate to post the form back with appropriate validation errors displayed?   I've been pretty happy with my G1 thus far, but I turned it on this morning and it gave me a screen showing multicolored bars and the following text: DREA100 PVT 32B HBOOT-0.95.0000 CPLD-4 RADIO-2.22.19.261 Sep 2 2008 Later down it says "Serial0". Please help me, I don't want to wipe my phone and lose my data on it! I haven't rooted it and have no interest in rooting it. I got Cupcake over the wire, not via hacking.

When I'm setting up some VPN connection, in that software it displays the IP address of my 'proxy server'.   Some years ago in my uni days I recall that the uni labs booted windows nt over the network. There was a shared drive for your own stuff, and other than that any changes you did to the running OS were reset when you restarted the machine. Now I'd like to be able to do the same thing with Windows 7. I have found some howto's for this using iSCSI, but I don't want an iSCSI disk for every single PC, I'm wanting one image for multiple PC's. I've also found PXE Boot setups for installing windows locally, but that's not what I want either. How would I go about setting up what I had at uni but with Windows 7 as a OS to netboot? i.e. How do I netboot windows 7 images? I do not want to netboot a windows 7 installer to a pc to install windows locally, I want to run a windows 7 image from memory/network.

• Downloads on Vista Home Premium start off fast but slow down to 0 Kb/s and hang

  I have Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer and everytime I go to download something, it starts out at about 1.5 Mb/s and stays there for about 3 seconds, then it slows down to 800 Kb/s and continues to drop until it gets down to 0 Kb/s and hangs. I've tried just about everything I can find such as uninstalling all firewalls/antivirus, doing the netsh rss,autotune, and chimney disable, and updating everything but it still continues to happen. I'd prefer not to reinstall but if I have to then I have to... EDIT: Figured it out, the router needed a firmware update
