  • Timing issue with autohotscript, fails to dump or open destination file

    I've created a autohotscript to quickly dump selected text into my jot file on the Desktop and I think I'm facing a timing error. The script works like thus: Select text when reading a text file, browsing internet, reading PDF, etc. Hit Ctrl + J Contents of selected text is dumped into my jot file. When I press Ctrl + J very quickly, it sometimes doesn't come up in my jot file and sometimes when I keep pressing Ctrl + J for a long time, many instances of the text appear.     Hi all, Is there a way to enumerate all open file handles and/or registry handles in Windows Mobile 5 / Windows CE 5.x? In particular, I'd like to get the handles for all processes in the system, and not just the ones for my application. This would be similar to the list of handles in Sysinternals's Process Explorer for Win32 or Sysinternals's handle.exe I anticipate that someone will ask "Is this absolutely necessary for your application?" My answer to that would be "I think so, unless there's a better way to get a list of all open file names and registry key names." The goal is to provide diagnostic information about an application that crashes and fails to uninstall properly, but that worked properly at one time on the same device. (I do not have debugging information for the buggy application.)

    I am a webdeveloper and my current working tools are: Terminal (ssh, tailing logs, grep, git, etc) Eclipse (PDT, Javascript, etc) Firefox (Developer Toolbar + Firebug) The problem is that I hate using the eclipse navigation tree. For me it is a lot easier to go to the Terminal and do something like this: $ eclipse /var/www/myproject/long/path/lib/Driver/Sql.php The annoying part is that the eclipse window is not focused after this command. I have to manually click on the eclipse window (using mouse... :@ grrr) Anyway to force eclipse to be focused?

  • In Eclipse, how to open a file browser in the directory of the currently edited file

    Hi, I know it's possible in eclipse to open file browsers from your project's resource browser, but is it possible for files that aren't part of your project ? Typically external includes are not found in your resource browser... If there is the equivalent of $(resource_loc) for the editor, it would work.. But I wasn't able to find it. Can anyone help me on this ? thanks! JC EDIT : I Found StartExplorer, but it's a joke of a plug-in. It is hardcoded to use WINDOWS explorer or cmd.exe. Also, it still requires you to use the resource browser. Other than that it can open paths selected in the editor, but they must be full paths.

  • Open Port on Windows Server 2008

    I have an external server and I installed a new Service on it. The service is running and I can access it locally. When I tried to get access to it locally, all worked just fine. but when I try to reach it from my laptop over the internet, I get the message, that the port is blocked. I added a rule to the windows firewall that all connections to that port are allowed but it still doesnt work. there is so many things in google that didnt help me, thats why I am asking specifically. I do acutally not know how to google for that right because i am not that into server configs and so on. Can anybody help me, what I have to do, to be able to access that port? From outside.

  • Jerky animation on window open/close

    Today, I received and installed Windows 7, and one of the first (slightly) annoying things I noticed is a visible jerk when opening of closing new windows. When I minimize or maximize already running window, the animation is smooth from beginning to end, but when I start a new program, it seems that just at the end of the animation Windows thinks for a fraction of a second. It is a bit distracting; especially since Windows 7 seems to be overall more responsive than Windows Vista. Does anybody has the same experience? Could it, for instance, a 64bit version specific issue (just in case)? I upgraded Vidia drivers, and even though my video card is not capable running latest games, it should be able to handle this (since it was OK in Vista, and since it does not look like a video issue).

  • Geographical ontologies ready to use?

    Hi all, I'm looking for an ontology containing geographical knowledge. In particular I'd like to have these types of information: political states / regions / cities / city areas geographical regions (e.g. continents, name of mountains, lakes, etc) For example, starting from the node "New York" I'd like to be able to find parents like the New York state, the USA etc, and children like Manhattan, Bronx, etc. I couldn't find anything open-source/free to use. I know that a lot of researchers extract such information from Wikipedia, but I couldn't find any off-the-shelf packages to use. I also checked OpenStreetMap, which is great for the amount of data but doesn't seem to contain a proper geographical ontology. Even a web service would be good! Any hints? Mulone

  • jQuery UI Dialog cause page jump on open & close on ASP.NET

    Hello all, I have an ASP.NET C# page, with image thumbnails in it. I created a script that opens a jQuery UI Dialog on each hover on a thumbnail that shows me the thumbnail in larger size in a dialog view, and when I hover out - dialog closes. My little annoying problem is, that in every mouseover (trigger dialog to open) - the page makes itself 'longer' - a scrollbar appears on the side of the browser, and it seems like the page gets longer when a dialog is openning, but it shouldn't do so. When I hover off (mouseout) - the dialog disappears and the page returns to its normal state. Because of this- when I hover through the thumbnails, my page 'jumps'. I looked for a solution for this, and I've added return false; for each dialog open, and close - and it still doesn't make any different. Sorry for the unperfect english, and thanks for all helpers!

    A requirement to use the RPXNow is to set your Facebook application's connect url to http://mydomain.rpxnow.com. I was just trying to implement Facebook's Open Graph and I see that it tells you to set the Base Domain to the domain that will contain the app_id. However, Facebook does not allow these two domains to look different. When I try to set the base url to mydomain.com, I get this error: Validation failed. Base Domain is not valid. Connect URL must be derived from your Base Domain. Should I create two apps - one for use with RPXNow, and another for use with Open Graph? If not, what should I do? Thanks

    Hi, I have a page in which i have provided a link clicking on which should redirect to a new page on the new window. My code is <a href="javascript:void(0);" class="webMnu" onclick="window.open('http://proschoolonline.com/payments','plain');">Enroll</a> The problem is that it is working fine in firefox(opens in a new tab) but in internet explorer its opening in a popup (not in a new tab).     I'd like to develop a portal similar to what a company like OneLogin (http://www.onelogin.com/) has: The user would login with their login credentials then have links to the web resources that their account is associated with. When they see their resources all they need to do is click on them and they'll be automatically login in (SAML authentication). Are there any open source projects out there that have started on this effort?     My config: ubuntu server 9 and msyql 5 my.cnf = bind-address = 0.0.0.0 my iptables script = iptables -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 99.88.77.66 -p tcp --destination-port 3306 -j ACCEPT I can connect from any place to mysql, not only that IP. I made a iptables-save , /etc/init.d/netwokring restart... but I still can connect from any IP, any clue ?

    I'm trying to pick an IP telephony technology to learn. I heard of Asterisk, trixbox, freePBX, and my head was already spinning being not sure what to learn. Then I came across this article listing some more like Kamailio, Yate, CallWeaver, FreeSWITCH, SipXecs and now my head REALLY is spinning http://www.cio.com.au/article/323016/five_open_source_ip_telephony_projects_watch . Can someone give me a run down of how all these technologies tie together? What is the trend now, because I'd like to start learning.     I am trying to write to a file. I do a file_exists check on it before i do fopen and it comes up true: the file does exist. However, the file fails this code and gives me the error every time: $handle = fopen($filename, 'w'); if($handle) { flock($handle, LOCK_EX); fwrite($handle, $contents); } else { echo 'ERROR: Unable to open the file for writing.',PHP_EOL; exit(); } flock($handle, LOCK_UN); fclose($handle); Is there a way I can get more specific error details as to why this file does not let me open it for writing? I know that the filename is legit, but for some reason it just wont let me write to it. I do have write permissions, I was able to write and write over another file.

  • windows clients cannot get dns resolution until you open and close ipv4 properties page

    This strange problem has started recently. Some windows clients cannot seem to get dns resolution to the internet after boot, and sometimes again at some point in the day. Internal hosts are also slow to resolve. trying to ping an interal host by name will take a long time for the hostname to resolve to ip address and trying to ping a website by name will fail to resolve. If you go into the tcp/ip v4 properties and view but not change anything, ok/close out of that then the client starts working fine, hostnames will resolve quickly. I have seen this happen on both Vista and W7 clients. ipconfig /all at a client experiencing this problem shows everything in order. proper ip addr, gateway, dns server, dns suffix ect.. ipconfig /dnsflush will not fix them, neither will /release and /renew the clients get their ip address, mask and dns server info from either one of 2 OES dhcp servers that assign addresses in different scopes in the same subnet. the internal dns server is a different OES dns server the default gateway is not assigned by the OES server but is statically put in at the client (only for those who need to get to the Internet for their job) flat network topology What can I do to get to the bottom of this? It only happens to a few of the client machines and typically the same ones. It started happening when we made a change to one of the DHCP scopes in iManager. Strangly this problem only happens to clients that get an IP address from the scope that we didn't make any changes to.
