Python Expand Tabs Length Calculation

I'm confused by how the length of a string is calculated when expandtabs is used. I thought expandtabs replaces tabs with the appropriate number of spaces (with the default number of spaces per tab being 8). However, when I ran the commands using strings of varying lengths and varying numbers of tabs, the length calculation was different than I thought it would be (i.e., each tab didn't always result in the string length being increased by 8 for each instance of "/t"). Below is a detailed script output with comments explaining what I thought should be the result of the command executed above. Would someone please explain the how the length is calculated when expand tabs is used? (manually configured) kernel update leaves wireless in a mess

I recently upgraded my kernel from 2.6.31-gentoo-r6 to 2.6.32-gentoo-r7. In both cases, I configured everything manually. However, since the upgrade, my wireless card appears to be on the fritz. It will connect to networks just fine, and remain connected, but can only access the internet (and other hosts on the network) for about 3 seconds after connecting. Reconnecting to the network appears to fix the problem... for another 3 seconds or so. The problem is "solved" by booting into the older kernel. The relevant lspci entry is 02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 5300 AGN [Shiloh] Network Connection I'm pretty sure I have the correct drivers enabled in the kernel Device Drivers ---> Network device support ---> Wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11) ---> <*> Intel Wireless Wifi [*] Enable LED support in iwlagn and iwl3945 drivers [*] Enable Spectrum Measurement in iwlagn driver [*] Enable full debugging output in iwlagn and iwl3945 drivers <*> Intel Wireless WiFi Next Gen AGN (iwlagn) [*] Intel Wireless WiFi 4965AGN [*] Intel Wireless WiFi 5000AGN; Intel WiFi Link 1000, 6000, and 6050 Series I tried with the other intel drivers enabled as well (iwl3945) and no difference. We are developing a stock control application using ASP.NET, MVC2 using IE6 Scenerio is as follows: Once the user has completed the order, a docket should be automatically printed. At the moment, I am using Javascript command "window.print();" method however the print dialog button is displayed. Is there a way to stop the print dialog button from showing and the docket will be automatically printed?

Mouse(s) double clicks instead of single click (its not the mouse)

I am aware of this very similar question: But I have tried with 3 different mouses and everyone of them exibit the same behavior. Simple enough, 1 out of 3 times I get a double click when single clicking). I searched the net a lot about this problem and have yet to find a solution. I have tried: 1- switch to another mouse 2- uninstall the mouse drivers + reboot 3- I do not have any special mouse drivers/software like intellisense and logitecs to uninstall. 4- verified that I was not in fact on some setting that says open files with single click. 5- everything is up to date including a antivirus 6- Installed fresh drivers from dell's website It is a dell vostro 260 computer running windows 7 pro 64. edit: added a 6th thing I tried. edit2: tried reinstalling every windows update I could find nothing Boss just said he'd buy me a logitech mouse hoping the drivers will fix my problems. Hopefuly!

Hi All, I have win 7 x64 Home Prem. The HDD is a seagate barracuda, 7200.7 ST3120827AS. 3.5", Serial: 3ms006n6, Firmware: 3.42 (no further updates) NexStar CX External case (drivers installed). I have three drives: WD320 with OS installed WD750 data storage (internal) seagate 120 (external) - connected via esata board connected to sata on motherboard (MSI p43 neo) Tried uninstalling HDD in device manager to no effect. Also the internal WD750 is detected as an external drive and win taskbar icon allows for it to be ejected (unlike the seagate). All drives are configured - Online, Simple, Basic, NTFS, Active, Primary Partition (except c drive). The seagate was previously used as a primary disk with XP operating system so I deleted the volume and created/reformatted (not quick). HDD is no longer "Active". But did not fix problem. Background Originally, I installed win 7 with the bios set to IDE and forgot to install the chipset drivers. Then I changed win 7 to install the AHCI drivers, changed the bios to AHCI and rebooted. Win 7 loaded drivers but WD HDD gave problems/crashed. I installed chipset drivers and latest intell storage matrix software thingie (in safe mode). Everything worked fine after that except for the problem of not corrrectly detecting the external drive] I have noticed that under the driver properties (and similarly in the registry) the two drives are configured differently (e.g. in driver details property capabilities for the WD the value is set to 0000006, CM_DEVCAP_REMOVABLE & EJECTSUPPORTED - whereas the seagate shows 0000080 & CM_DEVCAP_SURPRISEREMOVALOK). Any easy way to configure things? Printing user specified column from JTable

I have an application, and I would like to print a JTable, but since it has many columns, I would like user to select/limit which columns to print so it can fit in regular printer paper. I'm using JTable.print() function to print. (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/misc/printtable.html) Right now, my solution, is to create another JTable with the columns that user selected, then repopulate the table with the data, then send it to printer. Is there a better way to do it?

I have three files in a folder 'test' one.php two.php print.html And i have .htaccess file in the same folder RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /test/ RewriteRule ^(.+)\.html$ $1\.php [L] if we take the print.html in browser , there will be error , because of .htaccess file, for there is no 'print.php' page How can we solve it , by modifing the .htaccess file. So that while taking the print.html, it should display in the browser

8400GS causes BSOD in Acer M1610 running Windows 7 32-bit

Title says it all, just installed the Nvidia card, I know this is a driver related issue I just don't know how to fix it I cannot find a driver version that will work not even the one that windows selects for the card, or the one on the disk supplied with the card. Any help will be appreciated. BSOD output: What happens when I try to install Any driver that does install causes a BSOD the driver disk says it supports windows 7 and the drivers on the disk cause a BSOD too i'm at a loss of what to do. EDIT: Yes I uninstalled the intergrated drivers. PCIE x16 Card from Gainward Tried multiple driver versions Versions that wont install because they cannot pick up card 190.38, 191.07, 196.21, 197.45 Versions that install and cause BSOD 258.96, 260.99, The drivers on the disc (not sure of the version) and drivers from the gainward website (driver version 263.14)

I am working on exercise 13 from learnpythonthehardway.org. I should run this code: from sys import argv script, first, second, third = argv print "The script is called:", script print "Your first variable is:", first print "Your second variable is:", second print "Your third variable is:", third Then enter "python ex13.py first 2nd 3rd" on command line. However, I am using Aptana Studio 3 on Vista and I get the "ValueError: too many values to unpack" error. I am new to Python and Aptana so how can I enter the separate arguments here?
