Parsing NTFS Partition in C

Hello all, I'm just a beginner and I have a need to parse a NTFS partition for the purpose of extracting Security Descriptors. (I been trying to use the native functions of the Windows API, but my conclusion is that something is seriously wrong with the functions' behavior, or their documentation.) I was wondering if anybody here experienced with such requirement, and could give me few hints, references, guidance... where to begin? (I've found www.ntfs.com, seems to have NTFS structure information, but I'm afraid I'll need something more to get started...) My intention is to use it under Windows XP. Parsing/executing C# code in C++ (on Linux)?

I want to be able to add scripting functionality to my application. One of the language bindings I am considering is C# (and possibly VB.Net). The challenge is this: My application is developed in C++ My application runs on Linux I am aware of Mono, but I dont know (as yet), what is required to allow my C++ appliaction (running on linux), to be scriptable with .Net languages. Is this feasible? Am I crazy for even thinking of doing this? If I'm not crazy, can anyone provide some guidelines on how to go about implementing this? Help, tips, ideas, suggestions anyone?

I can't figure how to have cmd.exe not interpret something like %PATH% as an environment variable. Re, One photo with exposure being 1/640 has the EXIF field of "ExposureTime" eq. "15625/10000000". I am not sure why some photos display this value in a readable format (e.g., "1/100"), but I need to convert this "15625" back to "1/640". How? :) Thanks.

I'm having trouble loading my level. I'm using Ogmo to create my level then I import it. I have no problem converting 0's and 1's into an Array, but I can't figure out how to do the same for -1's. It separates the "-" and the "1". Any help would be great. Regular expression match, extracting only wanted segments of string

I am trying to extract three segments from a string. As I am not particularly good with regular expressions, I think what I have done could probably be done better... I would like to extract the bold parts of the following string: SOMETEXT: ANYTHING_HERE (Old=ANYTHING_HERE, New=ANYTHING_HERE) Some examples could be: ABC: Some_Field (Old=,New=123) ABC: Some_Field (Old=ABCde,New=1234) ABC: Some_Field (Old=Hello World,New=Bye Bye World) So the above would return the following matches: $matches[0] = 'Some_Field'; $matches[1] = ''; $matches[2] = '123'; So far I have the following code: preg_match_all('/^([a-z]*\:(\s?)+)(.+)(\s?)+\(old=(.+)\,(\s?)+new=(.+)\)/i',$string,$matches); The issue with the above is that it returns a match for each separate segment of the string. I do not know how to ensure the string is the correct format using a regular expression without catching and storing the match if that makes sense? So, my question, if not already clear, how I can retrieve just the segments that I want from the above string?

How do I make BeautifulSoup parse the contents of textarea tags as HTML?

Before 3.0.5, BeautifulSoup used to treat the contents of <textarea as HTML. It now treats it as text. The document I am parsing has HTML inside the textarea tags, and I am trying to process it. I've tried: for textarea in soup.findAll('textarea'): contents = BeautifulSoup.BeautifulSoup(textarea.contents) textarea.replaceWith(contents.html(text=True)) But I'm getting errors. I can't find this in the documentation, and the alternative parsers aren't helping. Anyone know how I can parse the textareas as HTML?

I am fetching that xml with curl and storing on my server. Then do the following: $xml_str = file_get_contents('salespage.xml'); $xml = new SimpleXMLElement($xml_str); $items = $xml->xpath('*/transfer'); print_r($items); foreach($items as $item) { echo $item['buyerTeamname'], ': ', $item['sellerTeamname'], "\n"; } The array is empty and i cant seem to get anything from it. Return an object after parsing xml with SAX

I have some large XML files to parse and have created an object class to contain my relevant data. Unfortunately, I am unsure how to return the object for later processing. Right now I pickle my data and moments later depickle the object for access. if I've string like "{ partner_name = test_partner}" OR " { partner_name : test_partner } its an example string will be very complex with several special characters included like =, [ , ] , { , } what will be the best way to convert it into a python object - so I can process it I tried with eval but it requires " ' " for string, but how can we add this special character \' before starting and ending of every word, I tried regular express re.findal('\w+') but it fails when my string contains ' _ ' or like characters as it will separate the string by ' _ ' Object of this question is my application needs, user friendly language as input - and I thought Json Dict will be good - but user is lazzy to put " ' " before and after of each string... then I thought for yaml but its also complex, if anybody can suggest better user friendly input which I use as python object - then please help me out.

I've been writing a small C application that operates on files, and I've found that I have been copy+pasting this code around my functions: char fullpath[PATH_MAX]; fullpath[0] = '\0'; strcat(fullpath, BASE_PATH); strcat(fullpath, subdir); strcat(fullpath, "/"); strcat(fullpath, filename); // do something with fullpath... Is there a better way? The first thought that comes to mind is to create a macro but I'm sure this is a common problem in C, and I'm wondering how others have solve it.

I'm using preg/perl syntax in PHP. I have lines of data which I want to parse. The data looks like this: a score=216 expect=1.05e-06 a score=180 expect=0.0394 What I want to do is to have a subroutine that parse them and return 2 values (score and expect) for each line.
