  • Question creating PDF document in Zend Framework

    I need to take a ZF rendered view and create a PDF that should look pretty much exactly the same, and email it. The major issue I have right now is getting the HTML created by the view into a string that I can then process with the Zend_PDF::parse method. The view I need to turn into a PDF is the result of a posted form. I've tried grabbing the contents of ob_get_contents into a string after a successful post, but for some reason its not in there. Should I press on with this angle? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • just x86 assembly question~~!!

    this is my assembly program which is just a function to swap *x *y. so first argument from main is address of x which is in 8(%ebp) and second one is address of y is in 12(%ebp). the program does swap x and y. I need 7 lines for doing this. can you make it 6 lines and there is a condition you can use only %eax,%ecx, and %edx 3 registers. I think about it so much.. but.. I can't make it 6 lines...there must be a way.. isn't it? this might be not a big deal.. but if there is a way to get it in 6lines.     I have a table w/ 3 columns: name, phone, date. I have 3 indexes: 1 on phone, 1 on date and 1 on phone and date. I have the following statement: SELECT * FROM ( SELECT * FROM people WHERE phone IS NOT NULL ORDER BY date DESC) as t GROUP BY phone Basically, I want to get all unique phone numbers ordered by date. This table has about 2.5 million rows but takes forever to execute....are my indexes right? UPDATE: My EXPLAIN statement comes back with 2 rows: 1 for primary table and 1 for derived table. It says I am using temporary and using filesort for my primary table. For my derived table, it says my possible keys are (phone), and (phone, date) but it is using filesort.

  • Question about inserting/updating rows with SQL Server (ASP.NET MVC)

    I have a very big table with a lot of rows, every row has stats for every user for certain days. And obviously I don't have any stats for future. So to update the stats I use UPDATE Stats SET Visits=@val WHERE ... a lot of conditions ... AND Date=@Today But what if the row doesn't exist? I'd have to use INSERT INTO Stats (...) VALUES (Visits=@val, ..., Date=@Today) How can I check if the row exists or not? Is there any way different from doing the COUNT(*)? If I fill the table with empty cells, it'd take hundreds of thousands of rows taking megabytes and storing no data.

    Hi guys, I have this thing that i need to do and some advices will be greatly appreciated. I have a Sql server table with some phone calls.For each phone call i have the start and end time. What i need to accomplish: a stored procedure which for a certain period of time, let's say 5 hours at a x interval, lets say 2 minutes returns the number of connected calls. Something like: Interval Nr of Calls Connected 01-01-2010 12:00:00 - 01-01-2010 12:05:00 30 01-01-2010 12:05:01 - 01-01-2010 12:10:00 10 ............. Which will be the fastest way to do that?     I would like to create a StringVar() that looks something like this: someText = "The Spanish Inquisition" #Here's a normal variable whose value I will change eventually TkEquivalent = StringVar() #and here's the StringVar() TkEquivalent.set(string(someText)) #and here I set it equal to the normal variable. When someText changes, this variable will too... HOWEVER: TkEquivalent.set("Nobody Expects " + string(someText)) If I do this, the StringVar() will no longer automatically update! How can I include that static text and still have the StringVar() update to reflect changes made to someText? Thanks for your help.

    I asked about this array a little while ago, and I can't see what the problem is. Too tired. What have I done wrong? Basically, I am taking a string array and trying to check to see if it contains numbers or an x (ISBN number validation). I want to take the number from a given input (bookNum), check the input, and feed any valid input into a new array (book). At the line 'bookNum.charAt[j]==book[i]' I get the 'not a statement error'. What gives?     Hi guys, I've just updated my nexus one to 2.2...now all of my (own and some from the market) apps throw exceptions and were closed... It's weird, in the app i'm developing atm, there it displays only my start page with buttons, but when i tap on one button to fire an intent to another activity my app gets closed with an exception. Yesterday before the update everything worked fine... The same thing in my emulator: I have two devices, one with API level 7 and one with level 8...Level 7 worked fine, but level 8 killed my app :( What is the problem and how can I solve this? I'm desperatly trying to get it working again :( I hope someone can help me fixing this

    I'm writing an android app that has a standard activity, but also needs to monitor incoming/outgoing calls and texts at all times. In addition, the app needs to notify users of information once a day without having the activity open. The information it notifies users of is stored in a database, so communication with the activity is not necessary. I've been researching for a week and still can't decide how to go about doing this. My instinct tells me I need a remote service that has a constantly running broadcast receiver, but every remote service example I see is overly complicated. Could anyone help me better understand what steps I need to take? Thanks in advance.

  • Javascript Pointers question with Dates

    I noticed this situation in my code (unfortunately), and was able to duplicate it in my own JS file. So I have this code: var date1 = new Date(); // today var date2 = date1; date2 = date2.setDate(date2.getDate() + 1); // what is date1? After this code executes, date1 is today's date + 1! This harkens back to my undergrad days when I learned about pointers, and I guess I'm a little rusty. Is that what's happening here? Obviously I've moved the assignment away from date1, and am only modifying date2, but date1 is being changed. Why is this the case? Incidentally, after this code executes date2 is a long number like 1272123603911. I assume this is the number of seconds in the date, but shouldn't date2 still be a Date object? setDate() should return a Date object... Thanks for the help.
