You could help me how to configure a network entirely virtual with VMWare Workstation 6.5 which has the Windows Server 2003 and XP workstations, but all virtual server and workstation windows xp.Outra thing is through my Windows Server 2003 I will release Internet access for Windows workstations xp.Everyone I'd like to simulate at home as if in a company but everything virtual. • Routing domain over lan [closed]

  I have server on my local network which is exposed to the internet. I have domain pointed on my IP and setup forwarding. The thing i would like to do is when i access example.com from lan to connection be routed directly on my server, not to the nearest DNS. Things I had in mind were to upgrade router with dd-wrt and setup routing rule, or to setup local DNS. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with neither of those systems.

• question about a sata read/write speed

  I'm contemplating biting the bullet for an ssd drive in a server, obviously I know it will be MUCH faster than a regular 7200rpm sata2 3gbps drive. The nice thing about ssd's is often they post the read/write speed but that info isn't available for sata's so I'm just curious to know what a typical read/write speed would be for a seagate 120gb 7200rpm drive. I know it fluctuates from manufacturer and model series but I'm just looking for a guestimate.

  I'm a literature student and I'd like to be able to annotate literary texts (originally stored in HTML or as text files) on a word-by-word or line-by-line basis. I hear databases like mySQL or SQLite would be good ways to do this sort of thing, but I don't really know where to start. I'm comfortable with the linux command-line, and have done some HTML/CSS work in the past, so I feel unintimidated by databases and things...I just don't know what to start doing.

  I recently learned a new shortcut in VIM that I find extremely useful. d/search_text Which will delete everything up to, but not including, "search_text", from the current position. However, the thing that is annoying is that this will highlight all occurrences of "search_text" after performing the operation. Is there any way that I could disable the highlight feature when performing this operation?

• W3WP Process at 100% Utilization

  We're seeing an issue on our production servers where the processor is constantly at 100% utilization (between 2 or 3 w3wp processes). The weird thing is that there are almost no requests to the server, and the application associated with the offending processes is still performing well. By looking at IISPeek, almost nothing is happening on the server, so I'm not sure what else to check. Has anyone run into something like this? Thanks!

• How can I get vimperator to scroll more than one line using the j and k keys?

  I've tried using the following: :map j 3j When I do this and reload the .vimperatorrc file, it actually starts zooming in the page I'm on. The funny thing is, if I type 3j on a page without any mapping, it works. I'm using Vimperator 2.3.1 with Firefox 3.6.3. Am I missing something? Thanks!

The closest thing I have found is placing it in standby, but seems to work differently then the sleep button on my keyboard (longer bootup, doesn't wake on mouse click). Any ideas? • (Why) are IEC C5/C6 connectors a necessity? Why not use C13/C14?

  That's a question I was asking myself the first time I saw such a weird C5 plug. That was a while ago, but I came across it again and haven't found an answer yet. The only thing I could find out is that C5 is with 2.5A and C13 with 10A. But I guess it would technically be no problem building an AC adapter (e.g. for laptops) in which you plug the far more common C13 connector. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_connector

For my logs needs I tried logrotate but found that logrotate is not too friendly to Python applications, so I tried using RotatingFileHandler and even worse found my logs all chopped up and part of it went missing! I am considering ConcurrentRotatingFileHandler, my question is, has anyone out there experienced the same thing and better yet do you have any battle tested solution for Python wsgi, concurrently accessed applications?

  Hello, I have a file hosting site and I want to know what should be the apache log format/code to log records for only filesizes above 5mb that were served as download/output bandwidth So log looks like this visitors_ip filepath(or filename) output bandwidth One more thing data should be recorded ONLY FOR COMPLETED DOWNLOADS which I believe is checked through %X I think output bandwidth is same as the filesize that was served as download if whole file is downloaded. • OSX Server - How to set environment variable on network user login

  I have a group of users on my server, "Developers", and I would like an environment variable to be set for them whenever they login. More specifically, when anyone in this group logs in, I would like the equivalent of: setenv ANDROID_SDK_HOME /Developers/Android/User to be set at login. I can do this with a login script if necessary, but what I'm asking is: is it possible to set this type of thing in Profile Manager, Workgroup Manager, Directory Utility, etc?   I recently used the Ubuntu update manager to upgrade the kernel on my netboook to 2.6.28-15. The problem is that the new kernel no longer auto-mounts my SD card, which happens to contain my /home directory. The funny thing is, if I use the "recovery mode" grub option, and then "resume normal" the card gets mounted. How do I ensure my sd card is mounted on boot?

  My power button is non responsive I am getting LED for charging. I've taken it apart before to change the dc jack and it was fine and a few months later it just powered off. I try to power back on and is goes to start up then shuts off. I just took it apart and came to find the ribbon cable connecting the power button/speakers cover is barely hanging on do I have to replace the whole thing or is there a way to replace the ribbon cable?

• Notepad++ highlight transparency

  I use dark themes and when I select a word, Notepad++ highlights all the occurences of that word in the current document. But the highlight color for matches other than the current word is somehow blended with the background and the highlighted text is not as clearly visible as it could be. The same thing happens when using "Find all" option in the Find dialog to mark the occurences. Is there a way to change this behavior such that the matched text has the same (full) opacity as the selected text?
