    I need to write a rate limiter, that will perform some stuff each time X bytes were transmitted. The straightforward is to check the length of each transmitted packet, but I think it will be to slow for me. Is there a way to use some king of network event, that will be triggered by transmitted packets/bytes?

  • Convery MSSQL Varbinary field to MYSQL, keeping data intact

    I was given the dawnting task of converting a ASP website to PHP and MSSQL to MySQL, and I ran into an issue that hopefully somebody can help I have a user table which has a password field with datatype Varbinary(128), are using pwdencrypt to encrypt the password. Is there a way to transfer that over to MySQL, and somehow i need to be able to keep the password intact... how can i go about that? any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I don't find the database interface useful to search for logs and sometimes they don't even log(I might be wrong).     Hi, I'm helping a friend transfer a site to a new server who uses Actinic to run a small catalogue of items. I've transferred the files over to the new server, but I need to change a few configuration settings for Actinic, as the old server stored files in /public_html But the new one uses /httpdocs Does anyone know which files I need to edit to do this? I can't get in touch with my friend at the moment as he is on holiday. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

I am using the Apache/Tomcat that comes with the liferay portal bundle and I used the MySQL that comes with WampServer at home but now I want to transfer my portal to a real Server and I wanted to know whether I could still use the Wamp's MySQL or should I install a real MySQL (What's the difference?) Example lets say, while the data is being transferred the peer crashes.     I have a webservice that returns the binary array of an object. Is there an easier way to transfer this with SOAP or does it need to be contained in XML? It's working, but I had to increase the send and receive buffer to a large value. How much is too much? Transferring binary in XML as an array seems really inefficient, but I can't see any way to add a binary attachment using .NET.

    I am attempting to to use python to gain some performance on a task that can be highly parallelized using http://docs.python.org/library/multiprocessing. When looking at their library they say to use chunk size for very long iterables. Now, my iterable is not long, one of the dicts that it contains is huge: ~100000 entries, with tuples as keys and numpy arrays for values. How would I set the chunksize to handle this and how can I transfer this data quickly? Thank you.

    My target is to send keyboard events to external application. From my application, I'm launching a C# exe (console application) that bring the target application to the front and uses SendKeys.SendWait to send keyboards events. I ran into a rate case were the command don't have any affect. When debugging it, it works but when running it not in debug it fails. I think it as something to do with the fact that when debugging my application is the active application.

    I'm looking for an equivalent to GetTickCount() on Linux. Presently I am using Python's time.time() which presumably calls through to gettimeofday(). My concern is that the time returned (the unix epoch), may change erratically if the clock is messed with, such as by NTP. A simple process or system wall time, that only increases positively at a constant rate would suffice. Does any such time function in C or Python exist?

    Hi I'm interested to find out what would be the good way to make changes to production database and source code in web application (ASP.NET, SQL Server 2008). A little bit more details, we develop on local machines, and then we need to transfer the code and database changes to production (pretty much standard story). Given that, what is the best free WebDAV client for Windows? I think something like Filezilla, but for WebDAV, would be ideal.
