  • Sharing one static ip for both ftp and www service

    Trying to figure out how to update the Zone record and configure webserver so that one application on the webserver is accessible by public. I'm completely not good at NS/DNS/NAT/firewall/routing/port forwarding/networking etc. "faraday" is the intranet name. Everyone within local network can access all applications hosted on "faraday". Hostname for webserver is "www", FTP server is "ftpserver". Both servers running RHEL4 OS. The goal is to allow anyone outside the company network (public) to access only one of the many applications on "faraday". Hope somebody can help me with some of the questions below, if not all. From zoneedit record, the static IP is used by FTP now. Can I use the same existing static IP - 219.95.10.100, for web service? Currently anyone who enter "http://www.abc.com.my" will be directed to "http://www.abc.com". I don't want this to change. Currently, no one else, except employee on local network, can access "faraday" web pages. How to configure so that when anyone type "http://thisapp.abc.com.my" on their web browser, the url will lead them to "http://faraday/thisapp" (application folder is /var/www/html/thisapp on RHEL4 web server). If possible, how to set the URL will continue to show "http://thisapp.abc.com.my" instead of "http://faraday/thisapp" How to limit/restrict user (those who are not from local network) so they only have access to "http://thisapp.abc.com.my", but not "http://faraday" or "http://faraday/anotherapp", etc. What's the configuration changes needed in /etc/httpd.conf on web server?     I know there are many posts like this, however none of the fixes I have found have worked. I had the issue on 11.04, and after having no luck fixing it decided to try 12.04 however this has not fixed the problem.   • Ubuntu install and dual Boot with Windows 8 UEFI

    i have Ubuntu 12.04 x64 ISO, i load it on a Fat32 USB. My notebook has a hdd with GPT where i installed Official Win 8 Pro x64 (final versión), I partitioned the whole hdd, previously of win 8 install, and bios is set with UEFI boot. My BIOS notebook doesn't support SECURE UEFI BOOT. So I boot the notebook from USB and the Grub runs OK showing whether to run Ubuntu live or to install, but neither one neither two works, when I choose then the screen shows black and nothing happen, it doesn't start/loads the install program. I've try whether to prepare the usb with unetbootin, or just direct copy/paste the files onto the USB. I also have try WUBI, but neither with success, it launch an error when ending.

  • Issues with shooting in a HTML5 platformer game

    I'm coding a 2D sidescroller using only JavaScript and HTML5 canvas, and in my game I have two problems with shooting: 1) Player shoots continous stream of bullets. I want that player can shoot only a single bullet even though the shoot-button is being held down. 2) Also, I get an error "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'draw' of undefined" when all the bullets are removed.   • How to run a local and external website on same computer with 2 NIC's, 2 Routers and 3 seperate networks?

    Hello and hopefully I can get some answers to my question, though I think I'm making it more complicated for myself than it has to be. My business is a used auto dealership, and I'm in the process of connecting it to the world - via ethernet from the business server [running Xubuntu] to the ISP's ethernet router/modem, so that I can host our own website (no more than 5-10 people probably visiting at any time - mainly paying their bill), as well as set up a web based internal-intranet site - via DD-WRT Router on the 2nd NIC on the business server - that'll be accessed over Wifi from employees personal devices. On the other end of this is trying to offer free wifi to customers that is completely seperate of the 2 mentioned above networks. Quick Rundown: 1. Web Site for Customers to access. I'm going to use no-ip.org for DNS for the moment being, so I'll have a site that customers can access from anywhere in the world at "mybiz.no-ip.org". This will be forwarded to NIC #1 on the server, possibly at an address like "108.69.." as its being provided an IP from the ISP's modem/router, that is from Time Warner, and they allow NO! configuration options. Web Site for employees to access. I'm trying not to use the server too much as a desktop, only for critical situations, so having a backend thats seperate from the front-facing website is critical. This will be the DD-WRT router hardwired into NIC #2 on the server. This WiFi will be password accessible. Public WiFi for customers. The DD-WRT can seperate networks if I'm correct, I just can't seem to understand how to seperate the 2 and still have internet access on both. I've done it before, but the "Public" wifi (with no password set to connect) kept dropping the connection like a problem was happening that I couldn't figure out. So if I could do a little drawing, this is how it would/should possibly look.     When booting my laptop, it will try to connect to my wireless network, however a window keeps popping up asking me for my security password, which has already been saved. I have to keep deleting my network settings, and reconnecting, otherwise it keeps failing to connect. My wireless is set up with a WPA, I do not want to lower my security because of this, but it is a pain and can take me 15mins plus to finally connect. The problem has only become apparent since a fresh install of 11.10. IPV6 disabled. Let me give you a few examples. Let’s assume you have pinned Emaroo to the first spot on the task bar so you can start it by hitting Win+1. To start one of the most recently used Visual Studio solutions you type Win+1, [maybe arrow key down a few times], Enter This means that you can start the most recent solution simply by Win+1, Enter What else? If you want to open an Explorer window at the file location of the solution, you type Ctrl+E instead of Enter.   If you know that the solution contains “foo” in its name, you can type “foo” to filter the list. Because this is not a general purpose search like e.g. the Search charm, but instead operates only on the MRU list of a single application, you usually have to type only a few characters until you can press Enter or Ctrl+E.   Ctrl+C copies the file path of the selected MRU item, Ctrl+Shift+C copies the directory If you have several versions of Visual Studio installed, the context menu lets you open a solution in a higher version.   Using the context menu, you can open a Visual Studio solution in Blend.     I'm trying to set up sftp-server but the client is getting an error, Connection closed by server with exitcode 1 /var/log/auth.log (below) doesn't help much, how can I find out what the error is? I'm running Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS sshd[27236]: Accepted password for theuser from (my ip) port 13547 ssh2 sshd[27236]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session opened for user theuser by (uid=0) sshd[27300]: subsystem request for sftp sshd[27236]: pam_unix(sshd:session): session closed for user theuser Update: I've been prodding this for a while now, I've got the sftp command on another server giving me a more useful error. Request for subsystem 'sftp' failed on channel 0 Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer Everything I've found on the net suggests this id a problem with sftp-server but when I remove the chroot from sshd config I can access the system. I assume this means sftp-server is accessible and set up correctly.

    This photo illustrates the environment: http://i.imgur.com/V4wbp.png I'll shoot the cannon, it'll bounce off the wall and it's SUPPOSED to stick to the bubble. It does at pretty much every other angle. The problem is always reproduced here, when hit off the wall into those bubbles. It also exists in other cases, but I'm not sure what triggers it. What actually happens: The ball will sometimes set to the wrong cell, and my "dropping" code will detect it as a loner and drop it off the stage. *There are many implementations of "Frozen Bubble" on the web, but I can't for the life of me find a good explanation as to how the algorithm for the "Bubble Sticking" works. * I see this: http://www.wikiflashed.com/wiki/BubbleBobble https://frozenbubblexna.svn.codeplex.com/svn/FrozenBubble/ But I can't figure out the algorithims... could anyone explain possibly the general idea behind getting the balls to stick?     I was running 13.04 since last monday and just today i upgraded to 13.10, in both of these version i have not managed to get my sound working. I have gone into alsamixer and disabled auto mute and the volumes are up. However if somebody thinks they can help me fix this i will gladly follow any steps.   • Problem with intel chipset 4 serie and centos dealing with dual head

    I've a fujitsu lifebook S7220, it's been a while since i try to configure it to use a dual head with centos 5.4 x86_64. Everytime I try, the xserver crash... I've got an intel chipset mobile 4 serie (GMA 4500MHD, if I recall good!)   • Is there a current tool to build your boot / partition on hard drive?

    I tried Windows 8 Consumer Preview a couple months ago and it wiped out my partition table... or the boot information. So now the machine cannot boot to anything at all. Is there Ubuntu tools or Linux tool that can fix all the partition and make them boot again? (The partitions have Windows 7 and Vista on them. I run Ubuntu as a VM on Win 7). I tried another tool running on Vista and was able to see the Win 7 partition, except that tool wiped out the Vista boot info later on.
