  Hello. I'm writing application to control LEDS on LPT. I have everything working except this. This is one small function. I have sth like that: I want to build function that will take two argument and return one number: In actual code those binary numers will be in hex. I put them there like that so that it's easier for you to visualize it. Example1: arg1 = 1100 1100 arg2 = 1001 0001 retu = 0100 1100 Example2: arg1 = 1111 1111 arg2 = 0001 0010 retu = 1110 1101 Example3: arg1 = 1111 0000 arg2 = 0010 0010 retu = 1101 0000 I have no idea how this function should look like. I want it to be as fast as possible. I'll call this function 200 times per second.

• MochaUI: 'A is null' when adding columns

  I've just downloaded MochaUI, and I'm playing around trying to build an interface. I've successfully created windows, but I'm having trouble when it comes to layouts with columns. I've included all of the libraries in the same order as the demo, and this is in my init code: window.addEvent('domready', function(){ new MochaUI.Column({ id: 'sideColumn1', placement: 'left', width: 200, resizeLimit: [100, 300] }); }); When run, no column is created and I get the error: A is null Does anyone have any ideas?   I have a set of data that is periodic (but not sinusoidal). I have a set of time values in one vector and a set of amplitudes in a second vector. I'd like to quickly approximate the period of the function. Any suggestions? Specifically, here's my current code. I'd like to approximate the period of the vector x(:,2) against the vector t. More specifically, I want to read the value of the ASP.NET_SessionId cookie returned by an ASP.NET Web Service I am consuming. • jQuery, ajax request doesn't success with JSON on IE

  I made an AJAX call and it works on FF & Chrome but not on IE 7-8-9. I'm loading a JSON file from my domain: $.ajax({ url: 'js/jquery.desobbcode.json', dataType: 'json', cache: false, success: function(json) { alert('ok'); }, error: function(xhr, errorString, exception) { alert("xhr.status="+xhr.status+" error="+errorString+" exception="+exception); } }); I also tried by adding contentType: 'application/json' but I receive the same output which is : xhr.status=200 error=parsererror exception=SyntaxError Unterminated string constant I checked my JSON file with JSONLint and it's OK. I checked if there is an extra comma and the content is also trimmed. See my JSON file If I put dataType: 'text', I receive the OK alert but a debug popup too. Could you help me? Regards.

  I am trying to add a global shortcut to a gtk.MenuItem which has a sub menu.   Hi.. I have a UITableViewController. I want to pop the copy/paste menu up when the user touches a cell. How to implement this functionality. Can someone help me. My question is, What CGRect I have to pass as the setTargetRect parameter? Do I need to call SetNeedsDisplayInRect in my TableViewController? What else to do to make this work?

  I am trying to introduce RoR to my company and I have two ways of doing so in my mind: (1) rails/ibm_db2/passenger/DB2 - which is my preferable way but it is not really supported by company's infrastructure. (2) jruby/activerecord-jdbc/tomcat/DB2 - probably easier way to migrate relying on current infrastructure and java libs IF I have a proof this is an enterprise ready technology. Does anyone know if there is any prof that jruby/aciverecord-jdbc-adapter/DB2/tomcat is mature enough for production? Are there any problems I should know about during Development/Deployment/Runtime? My webapp is for a company intranet, around 200~400 active users.

• Treeview Slow in IE?!?!

  I have a treeview with around 200 records that needs to be fully expanded at all times (so no loading on demand). It is inside of an update panel with the updatemode set to conditional. There are other update panels on the page as well that are set to conditional. Depending on user actions the tree may need to be rebuilt by calling databind and updating the updatepanel. Everything works fine in firefox, longest postback about 2 seconds. With IE I have to wait up to 30 seconds sometimes and the action may have nothing to do with the tree just changing a dropdown in its own updatepanel takes forever. I have considered the size of viewstate and just raw HTML generated may be causing the delay but wouldn't that effect both browsers? Anyone have anyideas what is making it so slow in IE??? Thanks!

• Rails is caching when I don't want it to. Why?

  Rails is caching the index method of one of my controllers. It's a very simple application and only has like 2 controllers and a handful of actions each. The weird thing is I don't have any caching in my application at all, at least not explicitly. The pages get uncached if I restart passenger. Does rails do some kind of automatic page caching? There are no files in the public directory The page is returning a 200 header I have no caching blocks in my views (I use haml, if that matters) I have no action, controller, or page caching defined The request is hitting rails, verified by the production log I have the following in my production.rb: config.cache_classes = true config.action_controller.consider_all_requests_local = false config.action_controller.perform_caching = true config.action_view.cache_template_loading = true

• JQuery JEditable stay in edit mode on error

  I'm successfully using jeditable to submit via a function using jQuery.ajax and the async : false option , but am having an issue aborting if an error is returned. How can I get the edit box to stay activated and / or revert back to the original value if there are errors? I'm returning http status codes. so something like async : false .ajax submit here... if (xhr.status == 200) { return value; else { alert ('returned error'); // keep edit box activated but available for another try, or revert back to original value } I tried not returning a value from the function, which keeps the edit box activated and ready for another submit, but then the ESC key doesn't work anymore and if I click outside the edit area, the edit box stays. • Why is visual studio not aware that an integer's value is changing? (debugging)

  I have a few simple lines of code (below). [bp] indicates a breakpoint. for(int i=0;i<300;i++){} int i=0; cout<<i; [bp] for (i=0;i<200;i++){} When I debug this in visual studio, it tells me that i is equal to 300 on the breakpoint. Annoyingly, 0 is printed to the console. Is there any way to make it realize that two variables in different scopes can actually have the same name? I also want to add some code to the second loop and then debug it - but when I try to do that, i is consistently shown as 300. Very annoying.

• malloc hangs in Linux

  I am using Linux on a 16 G with 2 quad core CPU. There are 8 processes which are doing some work (CPU intensive/network i/o). Out of which 4 have a memory leak (These are test conditions so no problem in having leaks here). Total space is occupied by all processes is around 15.4 G only 200 MB is free in system. Things are fine for some hours. But after that malloc hangs (for a process which doesn't have a memory leak). Its stuck for for more than 4 minutes (Note CPU is not 100% but io has gone up signficantly). Now there is no problem in the hanged process. (It has not corrupted the memory). What malloc is doing? (is it tryibg to defragment or builidng up swap space).I am using SUSE 10. Any pointers?
