  • Rsyslog problem after ubuntu upgrade 10.4 to 12.4

    I was using Ubuntu 10.4 until last week for storing the log informations of a external device with rsyslog. After upgrading to ubuntu 12.4 the logging of TCP doesn't works anymore. (There are just no pakets visible - not even with tcpdump - aold ubuntu machine still sees the pakets.) UDP works with the identical configuration on the ubuntu machine and a "use UDP" on the external device. Are there any changes in rsyslog, that could explain this? However, I would like to open a saved event log archive (.evt or .evtx) and view the logs that are contained in the saved file. I just need to view timestamps, messages, sources, etc. associated with the logs in the file. Can this be done in C#?

    Hi folks The activity monitor in sql2k8 allows us to see the most expensive queries. Ok, that's kewl, but is there a way I can log this info or get this info via query analyser? I don't really want to have the Sql Management console open and me looking at the activity monitor dashboard. I want to figure out which queries are poorly written/schema is poorly designed, etc. Thanks heaps for any help!

  • How to generate changelog: git log since last Hudson build?

    I'm using Phing to do post build tasks in Hudson. I want to generate changelog containing all commits since last successful Hudson build. But looks like neither Hudson nor Git plugin for Hudson does not provide %last_build_time% variable. This would be satisfying solution, (but how to get the time?): git log --pretty="%s" --since="%last_build_time%" The only way I see for now is extracting it from the job xml file, but I do not know if it is possible with Phing. How do you generate your change logs?

  • How to add django-db-log models to admin panel?

    Just installed django-db-log module and trying to make it work properly. 'python manage.py syncdb' command created databases, it seems like logging works, but there is nothing about it in admin panel. As I found in documentation, it should add itself in admin panel without any additional configuration, but then I added 'djangodblog.middleware.DBLogMiddleware' in MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES and 'djangodblog' in INSTALLED_APPS it looks like nothing happens. What I'm doing wrong?

    Just wondering if it is possible to figure out who has read files from a Windows share (using .NET ideally but win32 native will do)? What I'm try to do is create something like awstats for a windows share so I can see who is accessing what and which are the most popular files. I'm not interested in changes - I just want to log access (with time) along with ip / hostname and what file.
