• Is there a usable HTML web gallery template for Lightroom 2?

  The built-in HTML gallery unfortunately generates invalid HTML markup so its looks are likely more coincidence than proper design. That aside its JavaScript usage prevents using the middle mouse button to open an image in a new tab. A look at the few free HTML gallery templates out there shows me that there seems to be little interest in building an actual HTML gallery which doesn't use JavaScript. Most of them are using JS to build fancy animations or in-page popup boxes containing the image. This may be nice for some people but at least one person who looks at my images is on dial-up and quickly opening all images in individual tabs to let them load and then close the connection is very nice to have there. Anyone seen such a gallery template; i. e. simple, plain HTML without JS? My HTML/CSS skills aren't that good that I can develop such a thing on my own, unfortunately.

  Is DataRow.NewRow() insufficient as the only row in a DataTable? I would expect this to work, but it doesn't. • Trying to return data asynchronously using jQuery AND jSon in MVC 2.0

  Hi, I am trying to use Jquerys getJSON method to return data server side to my browser, what happens is the url the getJSON method points to does get reached but upon the postback the result does not get returned to the browser for some odd reason. • Simulating an UNC path with a leading dot

  Being a C# .NET Windows Forms developer, some customers are running our applications on an Apple OS X Mac inside a Parallels virtual machine. Parallels presents host folders to the guest Windows as UNC paths with a leading dot like \\.psf\Home\Some\More\Folders Now an application of us cannot handle the leading dot correctly when accessing files from these kind of shares ("Invalid URI, cannot analyze host name" exception). I want to debug and fix this issue, unfortunately I do have no Mac and Parallels around here to test it. My question is: Is there a way to "simulate" this kind of share on a normal Windows server or client so that I'll be able to debug my application with Visual Studio? What I tried so far: I already tried to edit my HOSTS file to contain an entry like # ... 127.0.0.1 .psf # ... but Windows just seems to not recognize the share at all.

  I've got rewrite module working great for my IIS7.5 site. Now, I wish to add a number of urls that all goto an HTTP 410-Gone status. Eg. <rule name="Old Site = image1" patternSyntax="ExactMatch" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="image/loading_large.gif"/> <match url="image/aaa.gif"/> <match url="image/bbb.gif"/> <match url="image/ccc.gif"/> <action type="CustomResponse" statusCode="410" statusReason="Gone" statusDescription="The requested resource is no longer available" /> </rule> but that's invalid - the website doesn't start saying there's a rewrite config error. Is there another way I can do this? I don't particularly want define a single URL and ACTION for each url.

• How to turn SSLCompression off in Apache 2.4.3?

  I have installed Apache 2.4.3(OpenSSL 1.0.0j) on a machine and trying to do SSLCompression off in the ssl.conf file throws an error: Syntax error on line 219 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf: Invalid command 'SSLCompression', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration What could be wrong here? If it helps, I installed mod_ssl(2.4). Is that enough or is something more to be done to configure Apache with mod_ssl. I tried phpinfo() in php, and mod_ssl is reflected in the Loaded Modules section.

• Can I programmatically add a linkbutton to gridview?

  I've been looking through some similar questions without any luck. What I'd like to do is have a gridview which for certain items shows a linkbutton and for other items shows a hyperlink. • centos: su silently fails

  On a CentOS server where I'm logged via SSH as root, I do: su otherusername where 'otherusername' is the user name of another user, which exists. It does nothing. After that, I'm still root. whoami returns root, any file I create belongs to root, that is, su just doesn't su. However it does not give any error message. If I try to su with an invalid user name it does give an error message. What am I missing??

• In Excel, given a worksheet "A", how do you create a sheet "B" that has a subset of the rows in "A"?

  In Excel 2007, I have a sheet full of data "A". One of the columns in sheet "B" is called "Valid" and has either "yes" or "no". I've created a second sheet "B". It's easy to make each row in "A" appear in "B" if the row is valid using an 'if' statement in each cell. But if it's invalid, there's a blank row. I need "B" to show only the rows from "A" that are valid. TWO BIG CAVEATS: - No macros - No filtering (for long and complicated reasons). I feel like it might be possible with vlookup used cleverly, but so far, I'm stumped.

• Input not cleared.

  As the question says, for some reason my program is not flushing the input or using my variables in ways that I cannot identify at the moment. This is for a homework project that I've gone beyond what I had to do for it, now I just want the program to actually work :P Details to make the finding easier: The program executes flawlessly on the first run through. All throws work, only the proper values( n 0 ) are accepted and turned into binary. As soon as I enter my terminate input, the program goes into a loop and only asks for the termiante again like so: When I run this program on Netbeans on my Linux Laptop, the program crashes after I input the terminate value. On Visual C++ on Windows it goes into the loop like just described. In the code I have tried to clear every stream and initialze every variable new as the program restarts, but to no avail. I just can't see my mistake. • Setting up DNS in WHM/cPanel

  I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, but I'm sure this is a simple fix. I setup WHM/cPanel for the first time on my VPS and understand how DNS works for the most part (or so I thought). I created under the main domain name 2 nameservers (ns1.maindomain.com & ns2.maindomain.com). I have 2 IP address for my sever so each one points to a unique IP: ns1.maindomain.com => 198.x.x.204 ns2.maindomain.com => 198.x.x.205 I also set up reverse DNS with my hosting provider. When I put in my two nameservers under another domain (secondary domain), GoDaddy states that the nameservers are invalid. Any ideas on why this is or any configurations in cPanel that need to be made?

  Hello, I'm trying to install an ssl certificate to a dedicated centos 5.2 server. I followed the hosting company's instructions but the ssl is not working. When I try to access my website using https, Firefox gives the following error: uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 3/13/2010 11:56 AM. (Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate) I'm not sure where the problem is. You should also know that this server has plesk installed, even though I'm not using it, it could potentially be somehow overriding my httpd.conf or ssl.conf. Thanks!

  I'm working on an ASP.NET project in which the vast majority of the forms are generated dynamically at run time (form definitions are stored in a DB for customizability). Therefore, I have to dynamically create and add my controls to the Page every time OnLoad fires, regardless of IsPostBack. So in addition to the code that executes in OnLoad (i.e. RenderDynamicControls()), I have this code: protected void MyButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { RenderDynamicControlsALittleDifferently() } private void RenderDynamicControlsALittleDifferently() (){ //1. clear all controls from the page container added in RenderDynamicControls() //2. call service layer to retrieve form definition //3. create and add controls to page container } My question is, is this really the only way to accomplish what I'm after? It seems beyond hacky to effectively render the form twice simply to respond to a button click. I gather from my research that this is simply how the page-lifecycle works in ASP.NET: Namely, that OnLoad must fire on every Postback before child events are invoked. Still, it's worthwhile to check with the SO community before having to drink the kool-aid. On a related note, once I get this feature completed, I'm planning on throwing an UpdatePanel on the page to perform the page updates via Ajax. • Adding Control to Container Control that is in User Control - How to properly initialize?

  Let's say I have a user control MyUserControl, which has a container control (it's a server control, but it could just be a Panel) and a dropdownlist. The dropdownlist is not in the container control initially. In it's code-behind, I am overriding OnInit and creating the user control, which includes populating a dropdownlist and adding that dropdownlist to my container control. I have a public property Year, which is an int. Based on the value of Year, I want to populate the dropdownlist. The problem is that in OnInit, year is always 0. On the page Init, I am setting year, but that doesn't run until AFTER the control's Init runs. If I try to set the value on PreInit on the page, the page hasn't initialized the control and I get invalid null reference when setting a value to the control. My question is: How can I properly initialize the control? How can I set the value on the page, before the control actually gets initialized? If I move the control's code to OnLoad, it'll work until I have to do a postback. In this case I need to, though!

• How to setup external mail addresses without external autodiscover tries?

  We have a little Exchange/Outlook installation here that fetches the mails from our provider with POP3. Now to be able to send emails outside our organisation, I added another SMTP address to the Exchange User: [email protected] (Default / Reply Address) [email protected] Sending email works using the default address. But now there is an error message each time we start Outlook. Outlook tries to autodiscover using autodiscover.ourcompany.com which doesn't exist. Our autodiscover files are placed on our local server. I think all the servers are discovers, because everything works as expected. Everything except the error message on each Outlook start. (The error message is actually because of an invalid certificate but I don't see why Outlook should contact an external host at all!) So how can I solve this? Forcing Autodiscover on every Outlook client to use the local hosts? Or ist there an even better way?

  I have setup a website in IIS 7.5 on a Windows 2008 machine. The website is sitting on C:/websites/ Then I added a virtual directory called "/uploads" that points to "d:/websites/uploads". This directory holds all the images/media. When I browse the website in browser, I dont see any images etc. When I browse an image directly I notice that it's throwing a 401 error. 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. I have searched Google quite a lot and I am pretty sure I am have all the permissions setup correctly. Can anyone tell me what I could be doing wrong here?

• Installing W2K8 R2 on a Dell Poweredge 2850

  I'm a server novice and have been given a Dell 2850 (PERC 4e/Di). It has 3 blank HDs that I think are configured as RAID 5. I am trying to install W2K8 R2 SP1 on it. It doesn't have a DVD reader so I created an install USB. This works fine until it's time to copy files to the HD. It can't see a HD. There is an option to browse for drivers at this stage. Any idea what drivers I need and where to download them? I downloaded this driver RAID_DRVR_WIN_R227150.EXE but this failed with invalid signature. Is it possible that my Roboform password divulge. !!! Edit 2 : I've changed my yahoo mail password, but this morning I received Failure Notice for sending mail to some invalid mail addresses again, but there is a different this time, the sent mails didn't exist in my Sent Box. • Can this be improved? Scrubbing of dangerous html tags.

  I been finding that for something that I consider pretty import there is very little information or libraries on how to deal with this problem. I found this while searching. I really don't know all the million ways that a hacker could try to insert the dangerous tags. I have a rich html editor so I need to keep non dangerous tags but strip out bad ones. So is this script missing anything? I actually like the idea of whitelisting but never actually did it because no one can actually tell me how to do it in C# and I can't even really find tutorials for how to do it in c#(the last time I looked. I will check it out again). How do you make a white list? Is it just a list collection? How do you actual parse out all html tags, script tags and every other tag? Once you have the tags how do you determine which ones are allowed? Compare them to you list collection? But what happens if the content is coming in and has like 100 tags and you have 50 allowed. You got to compare each of those 100 tag by 50 allowed tags. Thats quite a bit to go through and could be slow. Once you found a invalid tag how do you remove it? I don't really want to reject a whole set of text if one tag was found to be invalid. I rather remove and insert the rest. Should I be using html agility pack?

  What I am trying to achieve here is to display a number of LinkButtons in a RadGrid Column. The buttons are generated from a collection property member of the bound grid row item. The CollectionLinkButton control is nothing more than a asp:Panel derived control that populates its Child Controls from "DataItem.SomeCollection" and this is working fine.   quick back story-- I am working on ASP.Net based template editor that lets authors create text templates using Javascript inserted placeholder tags that will be filled in with dynamic text when the templates are used to display the final results. For example the author might create a template like The word [%12#add] was generated dynamically. The application would eventually replace the tag with a dynamic word down the road (though it's not specifically relevant to this post) The word foo was generated dynmamically. Depending on the circumstances, the template may be created in a text input, textarea or a modified version of the Ajax Control Toolkit HTML Editor. There might be 40 or more of these editable elements on the page, so using lots of stripped down or modified HTML editors would probably bog the page down too much. The problem is that the tags such as [%12#add] are displayed inline with the user text and the result is confusing and aesthetically gross. The goal is parse the contens of the source element and when a tags such as [%12#add] are encountered, display something prettier and less cryptic to the user such as a stylable element or image wherever tags such as [%12#add] occur. The application still needs the template text with the tags on postback. So the user might see The word tag placeholder was generated dynamically. but the original template would still be the value of the text input box The word [%12#add] was generated dynamically. It seems HTML editors like the ACT version and FckEditor accomplish this by rendering their output in an IFrame, but rather than kill myself trying to roll a lighter specialized version myself, I thought I'd ask if anyone knows of an existing free component or approach that has already tackled this. With good reason, I don't think S.O. allows HTML formatting, but the bold "tag placeholder" above would ideally be something like tag placeholder.

• How likely can my data be recovered after Windows CHKDSK performed on a degraded RAID 5 array?

  Hello there, We have a RAID 5 setup with 3 SATA disks, #2 went down as reported on the pre-POST screen. Unfortunately, for some reason out of my control, the system was rebooted with a degraded RAID :-O Windows XP (64-bit) loaded, CHKDSK ran automatically and done its recovery! From that point onwards, the following error prompts every time even in Safe Mode: lsass.exe - The endpoint format is invalid I took those 3 disks to the data recovery expert and need to wait at least 2-4 days for results. There are 2 VMs on multiple files stored in this RAID 5 array, and there's no backup! Sorry, I just inherited the system from an ex-staff who has left the company 2 months before I joined. How likely the data can be recovered?

• How to read a Text File Hidden Characters?

  I've created a text file from an application that I developed. When I send the text file to a SYSTEM Validation, they (3rd Party System) say that the file is invalid and that the file contains 3 characters in the beginning of the file that are not allowed as well special characters are not correct. They also say I need to use either ISO 8859-1 or PC850 Well, I'm using Notepad++ and I can't see that at all! What is the best text file reader for this kind of problems? EDITED I also have a Mac and just thought I remembered opening in TextMate ... WOW! Now I know what they are talking about! How can I have the same in Windows?
