• No GLX on Intel card with multiseat with additional nVidia card

  I have multiseat configured and my Xorg has 2 server layouts. One is for nVidia card and other is for Intel card. They both work, but display server assigned to Intel card doesn't have hardware acceleration since DRI and GLX module being used is from nVidia driver. So my question is, can I configure layouts somehow to use right DRI and GLX with each card? I couldn't find good information on it, but I was thinking it would blow out the bandwidth because it was like streaming a movie. Is gotomypc really feasible with an aircard at this point?

• Citrix ICA Client on Mac shift key doesn't work as expected.

  When I'm connected to a Windows XP computer from my Mac OS X 10.6 using the Citrix ICA Client, it seems that the shift key only works for the first letter typed after pressing shift. In order to type multiple uppercase letters, like ICA, I must either press caps lock, or press and release shift before each character. I've tried switching between standard and enhanced keyboard, as well as the 'Send Special Keys Unchanged' option, but none of these seem to affect the issue. The problem doesn't occur when I switch from the Citrix window to a regular Mac window.

  Hello I just read this article which I find concerning: "After 90 minutes of troubleshooting, Nash traced the problem to TeamViewer, which he used to remotely administer the client's servers. It turns out the program had opened up its own webserver on the client's machine as soon as Apache went down and in the process made it impossible for the client, a large provider of business software, to restart its proper website." http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/07/24/teamviewer_snafu/ I started using TeamViewer recently because it's just much better than UltraVNC (runs on both XP and Vista, the server dials out instead of requiring the user to open a port on their router + better performance than UVNC)... but I thought that TeamViewer had both the server and client connect out to TV's web server for data to flow between the two hosts. Why does TV even need to open a web server on the server host? Thank you.

• RemoteApp shows no certificate available but RD Session host finds it fine

  I am trying to set up remote app for a internal domain. I have a Root CA that is trusted my all of the end computers, that cert has signed a wildcard cert I am trying to use for the server. I added the pfx of the wildcard cert to the local machine personal store. From there I can use it fine for signing the RD Session Host session. However when I try to set up the signature for Remote App the certificate does not show up. What do I need to do to get my certificate to be available for for use? UPDATE: The Certificate was generated through the following commands: makecert -pe -n "CN=*.vw.local" -a sha1 -sky signature -ic VetWebCA.cer -iv VetWebCA.pvk -sv VetWebComputerWildcard.pvk VetWebComputerWildcard.cer pvk2pfx -pvk VetWebComputerWildcard.pvk -spc VetWebComputerWildcard.cer -pfx VetWebComputerWildcard.pfx The resultant pfx was added to the machine local store via mmc. Oddly, going in to Powershell if I add the -CodeSigningCert flag to find the wildcard certificate it is excluded from the serch results for Get-Childitem in my Cert:\Local Machine\My path, but if I don't include it it is there.

  We have a site with both a desktop version and a mobile version. Most of the content are the same and both versions have the same URL, but the HTML generated is device specific. Looking at Google's recommendations for smartphone-optimized sites, one could get the impression that the mobile xml sitemap is only for sites with different URLs. Will ranking be affected - negatively or positively - if we add a mobile xml sitemap that effectively will be a duplicate of the desktop sitemap?

  Due to a Dell/Nvidia design flaw in the Dell Inspiron 1420 series, my laptop no longer shows a display. I am looking for a solution to view it remotely. I have used it via RDP in the past (not for a year though) however for what ever reason I can no longer RDP, it could have been disabled some how. However, I'm on the same LAN, I can ping it, and know its login creditials. Is there a way I can hack into it remotely to force it to serve a RDP session or an alternative? • Opening an existing process

  I am using Eclipse in Linux through a remote connection (xrdp). My internet got disconnected, so I got disconnected from the server while eclipse was running. Now I logged in again, and I do the "top" command I can see that eclipse is running and still under my user name. Is there some way I can bring that process back into my view (I do not want to kill it because I am in the middle of checking in a large swath of code)? It doesnt show up on the bottom panel after I logged in again. • What is an elegant way to install non-repository software in 12.04?

  Perhaps I missed something when Canonical removed the "Create launcher" option from the right click menu, because I've really been missing that little guy. For me, it was the preferred way to install software that comes not in a .deb, but in a tar.gz, for example. (Note: in that tar.gz I have a folder with the compiled files, I'm NOT compiling from source) I just downloaded the new Eclipse IDE and extracted the tar.gz to my /usr folder. Now, I'd like to add it to my desktop and dash so it can be started easily. Intuitively I would right click the desktop and create a launcher. After this I'd copy the .desktop to /usr/share/applications. However, creating a launcher is not possible. My question: How would you install an already compiled tar.gz that you have downloaded from the internet? Below are a few things I've seen, but these are all more time-consuming than the right click option. If you have any better ideas, please let me know. Thanks! Manual copy & create a .desktop file: manually Simply extract the archive to /usr. Create a new text file, adding something along the lines of the code block below: [Desktop Entry] Version=1.0 Type=Application Terminal=false Exec="/usr/local/eclipse42/eclipse" Name="Eclipse 4.2" Icon=/home/tomas/icons/eclipse.svg Rename this file to eclipse42.desktop and make it executable.   My new laptop has a big 16:9 screen, and I'm finding it hard to fully utilize it during the 95% of the time that I'm not watching HD movies on it. I'd like to set it up as a kind of virtual dual screen by splitting the physical screen into two workspaces. I know I could arrange my windows manually, but I'd like to be able to maximize a window and have it only consume half the monitor, and have its pop up dialogs centered on its half-screen, that sort of thing. Is there some kind of plug in available to do this? Thanks in advance for any pointers.

• Rainmeter customization issues, pretty basic

  I'll admit it; I'm new to using Rainmeter. What I want to do is create two panels (one left, the other on the right) that mirror one another. One side I want to work for the Eastern US while the other for the UK. I want to keep digital clocks, the same style etc., on both sides with their respective time zone. On top of this I want to have weather reports for the whole day (Current weather and temp, morning, afternoon, and night) for each location. However, I have not been able to find any skins which allow this. For whatever reason every time I try to load a skin for a clock I can only load it for one clock of that type and I'm having the same issue with the weather skins. Could anyone please tell me what skins I should look at and how to get a mirrored look?

I am getting reports that when people try to use the computer it will sometimes be frozen to the point where they have to physically shut the machine down and boot to get it responding. (this happens about once a day). • Windows RemoteApp deploying software updates, is there a better way?

  We provide an application as a service, over Windows RemoteApp. It's nearly impossible to deploy updates to the software, though, because if even a single user is online then the file is in-use and cannot be replaced. Is there some way to make this possible or easier? If it were possible, I'd be deploying probably 2-3 updates per day. As it is, I sometimes have to go all week without deploying one.
