  • Spring security oauth2 provider to secure non-spring api

    I'm trying to set up an oauth 2.0 provider that should "secure" our restful api using spring-security-oauth. Being a 'spring fan' i thought it could be the quicker solution. main point is this restful thingie is not a spring based webapp. boss says the oauth provider should be a separate application, but i'm starting to doubt that. (got this impression by reading spring-security-oauth) i'm also new here so haven't really got my hands into this other (jersey-powered) restul api (core of our business). any help/hint will be much appreciated.

    In GWT javadoc, we are advised If you only need a simple label (text, but not HTML), then the Label widget is more appropriate, as it disallows the use of HTML, which can lead to potential security issues if not used properly. I would like to be educated/reminded about the security susceptibilities? It would be nice to list the description of the mechanisms of those risks. Are the susceptibilities equally potent on GAE vs Amazon vs my home linux server? Are they equally potent across the browser brands? Thank you.

I am using the Requestmap concept by storing each role, user and requestmap inside the database only... Now my requirement is to provide the menu items based on the users assigned roles... For e.g.: If my "User" Main Menu have following Items : Dashboard Import User Manage User And if I have assigned a roles of Dashboard and Import User to the user with a username "auditor" then, only following Menu items should be displayed on the screen : User (Main Menu) - Dashboard (sub menu) - Import User (sub menu) I have explored the Spring Security ACL plugin for the same, but it's using the Domain classes to get it working...   • Java on Ubuntu server 12.04?

    I'm a little confused at the moment. My back story in short, is that I'm trying to set up a Minecraft server on an Ubuntu server I've recently set up, obviously to do this I needed Java, but after googling for a short while I wasn't entirely sure whether it is possible (or legal?) to do so in Ubuntu 12.04 due to licensing type issues - so I installed open JDK instead which appears not to work properly with the Minecraft server software (I half expected this) I'm now considering uninstalling open JDK and instead trying to get proper Java on there instead, my question is, is this possible? Is it Legal? And if so how do I go about doing it? Because I'm finding it very difficult to find any instructions on how to do so for 12.04 . . .

    I have 35 windows7 standalone computers right now and planning to setup a LAN/workgroup using ubuntu as a server if its a LAN. Purpose for network.. Files from client computers to be accessed by me and vice versa through a shared folder on the server. Files only include word documents and very small project files. The network wont have Internet at the moment. What I would like to know.. How would i configure the ubuntu server to recognize the clients and will the clients be able to view the shared folders through their windows machines simultaneously? Would appreciate feedback.     I know that I can't get a specific answer to my question, but I would like to know if I can find the tools to get to my answer. Ok we have a Sql Server 2008 database that for the last 4 days has had moments where for 5-20 minutes becomes unresponsive for specific queries. e.g. The following queries run in different query windows simultaneously have the following results SELECT * FROM Assignment --hangs indefinitely SELECT * FROM Invoice -- works fine Many of the tables have non-clustered indexes to help speed up SELECTs Here's what I know: 1) The same query will either hang indefinitely or run normally. 2) In Activity Monitor in the processes tab there are normally around 80-100 processes running I think that what's happening is 1) A user updates a table 2) This causes one or more indexes to get updated 3) Another user issues a select while the index is updating Is there a way I can figure out why at a specific moment in time SQL Server is being unresponsive for a specific query?

So I decided to use Spring Security OAuth plugin. I have configured the plugin. Now I want user can access both via normal local account and also the OAuth authentication. More precisely I have a controller like this: @Secured(['IS_AUTHENTICATED_FULLY']) def test() { render "Home page!!!" } Now I want this controller to be accessed with OAuth authentication too.   • SQL Server Service Broker Service Disappearing (Automatically Deleted)?

    I've implemented a messaging system over SQL Server Service Broker. It is working great, with the sole exception that every once in a while (maybe once per week per server) my initiator service just vanishes without a trace. The corresponding queue is still there, but the service is missing. Obviously this causes problems in my system. It's a simple matter to recreate the service by hand, but I'm confused as to what might cause this behavior. I understand that automatic poison message handling causes queues to be disabled, but I don't see anything that indicates services can be disabled or deleted automatically. When this happens, I usually have a large backlog of messages in multiple application queues, but nothing extreme. Total message backlog is around 200,000. Does anyone know what might be happening here?

  • 12.04 x64 Server Login Failure

    After some serious GRUB issues after routine kernel updates, forcing a grub-reinstall via chroot and some single-user mode maintenance, I now cannot login to my server (except via single-user mode) When attempting to SSH to the server my connection is reset immediately after entering username - no password prompt is presented. I've plugged in my monitor and keyboard to the headless server and when trying to login I receive: login: "PAM Failure, aborting: Critical error - immediate abort" immediately after entering my username - again, no password prompt is displayed. I am able to gain access via kernel recovery mode and login as root through single-user mode with networking. I've attempted a dpkg reconfigure believing I may have had some incomplete/borked packages, but to no avail. Looking through /etc/pam.d/login doesn't seem to lead me in any obvious directions and I'm afraid I'm out of ideas. Googling doesn't help me much, one guy reinstalled (really don't want to do this) and the rest I could find were old Gentoo related bugs. Any tips?

At http://something.com/admin, this admin console should allow me to modify a SQL database (i.e., create and modify tables, and create and modify records) using an ordinary form. In the least secure case, anybody can access http://something.com/admin and modify the database. You can password protect http://something.com/admin. But once you start using the admin console, information is still transmitted in plain text. So then you use HTTPS to secure the transmitted data. Questions: To describe to a learner, how would you incrementally add security to the least secure environment in order to make it most secure? How would you modify/augment my three (possibly erroneous) steps above? What basic tools in Python make your steps possible? Optional: Now that I understand the process, how do sophisticated libraries and frameworks inherently achieve this level of security?

    Is it just me, or does expanding the list of databases in SQL Server 2008 Management Studio take significantly more time than expanding the list of databases in SQL Server 2005 Management Studio? If it isn't just me, is there an explanation for this behavior? Whatever it is doing in the background that makes it take longer, can we turn that off? Is it configurable? I know, it seems trivial, but I am perpetually being surprised at how long this takes.

Are there applicable uses from a development perspective?   • Ubuntu Server - Virtual Box?

    So I got VirtualBox just for Ubuntu Server, I'm currently Running Ubuntu 12.04 as my main OS. But when I got everything set up in Ubuntu Server 12.04, including my ports forwarded and a test Minecraft server up... I realized that nobody could join my public IP I sent out, not even me! I can connect to the ipv4 address. It acts like I didn't forward my ports. But I forwarded 25565 to Input and Output and they're both TCP and UDP. Is this just a virtual box issue or am I doing something wrong? * Using Eth0 wired connection
