  • can i change membership provider GetAllUsers method?

    Hi i am using vb.net and the .net membership provider. i want to bring back a gridview with user account information, like GetAllUsers() does. However i want to only bring back users with certain profile information, that will be users whos profile information matches the selected value in a dropdownlist on the same page. I am using profile provider to record just one extra piece of user information. Can i change or override the GetAllUsers method for this? Adding an extra parameter so its GetAllUsers by Profile. Membership has a FindUsersByName method, i want to do something similar with users by Profile. I am very much a noob with .net programming so i hope i have explained this ok.

  • How to remove ActiveX Add on from IE 7 (normal method does not work)

    Hi, Does anybody know how to remove an ActiveX control from Internet Explorer 7.0 ? I had been deleting and adding this control numerous times using the built in delete button in Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable. This is required for me to test a downloader ActiveX used for a website. It had always shown up in the "Downloaded ActiveX Controls (32 bit) section of the drop down which activates the delete button. However, all of a sudden it now appears under "Add ons that have been used by Internet Explorer" and I cannot delete it from there. The "in folder" column says it's in the C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files folder... But it does not appear to be there either... Thanks, James

    Hello friends, I have created my own custom role provider class "SGI_RoleProvider" and configured properly. Everything is working fine. Suppose that I have added a public method say "SayHello()", then how can i call that. Because if i am using Roles then the method is not displayed. If i am forcefully using that Roles.SayHello() then compiler gives the error. Any suggestion how can i call this. Because creating a new instance of SGI_RoleProvider is meaningless.     I want to convince my boss that we should be using git for version control. He says, that it absolutely must authenticate users through our central LDAP server. I looked at the various solutions (gitweb, gitorious ... ) and couln't really find a definitive answer about whether they support LDAP authentication. The only solution I could find a little info on was a Apache+mod_ldap setting. But that would mean that the user authenticating on LDAP wouldn't necessarily be the same as the actual git user, right? (Not that this is a huge problem, but just something which would bug me.) So, what's the best way to authenticate git users via LDAP?

  • Automated method to convert .reg registry file to reg.exe commands

    Occasionally I need to put registry entries into batch files to use in login scripts, unattended installers, etc. While it's pretty easy to add one or two registry commands to a batch file using reg.exe, when there is a large amount of registry data, it becomes tedious. I usually just end up merging an external reg file in those cases, which I would like to avoid, since it ruins the self-contained nature of the batch file. Does anybody know of any tools which can automatically convert a .reg file to a series of REG ADD and REG DELETE commands? This would make life a lot easier! Thanks.

    At work, I have a few legacy servers that I log into as root, and then su down to a user. I continue to run into an issue where after doing so, I am unable to run screen as this user. I don't want to open screen as root, because then I have to consciously su down the user every new shell, and I often forget. The question is, is there an easier resolution to this than I'm currently aware of? My current solution is to find my terminal pts number, then set it chmod 666. I'm looking for something akin to X11's xhost ACL management, if such a thing exists for this situation.

  • Scala Lift - Robust method to protect files from hotlinking

    I'm attempting to implement a way to stop hotlinking and/or un-authorised access to resources within my app. The method I'm trying to add is something I've used before in PHP apps. Basically a session is set when the page is first called. The images are added to the page via the image tag with the session value as a parameter: <img src="/files/image/[handle]?session=12345" /> When the image is requested the script checks to see if the session is set and matches the provided value. If the condition is not met the serving page returns null. Right at the end to the code I unset the session so further requests from outside the scope of the page will return null. What would be the best implementation of this method within the lift framework? Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated :)

  • Needing forward declaration in Ruby

    Hi, I am trying to write a Ruby script in one file. I would like to know if it is possible to write the "main" function in the beginning, having the other functions that are used by main, defined after it. In other words, I would like to call a not yet defined function, so that they do not depends on definition order. Just changing the order is not possible because it gives an "undefined method" error. In C/C++ we use forward declarations... is there something similar in Ruby or another solution to this?

    Is there any way to do the following in eclipse? Have eclipse template a method like the following public void test(){ // CREATE MOCKS // CREATE EXPECTATIONS // REPLAY MOCKS // VERIFY MOCKS } so then I could presumably just use intellisense and select an option like "createtest" and have it stub out a method with the comments similar to the above?My problem is that often myself and other developers I know forgot all the steps we need to follow to do what we dub as a valid unit test for our application. If I could template our test methods to stub out the comments above it would be a big help.

My understanding is that stringByAppendingPathComponent should not return an autoreleased string, so it should have a net retain count of 0. (Obviously I don't want to retain it.) I've tried altering copyData: to return the following, but it didn't get rid of the warning: return [[path retain] autorelease]; So what's the deal with this warning?

  • Best method of transferring files over internet?

    I have a seedbox (running Ubuntu 9.10) at my (parent's) house and will be leaving it there once I go to college this fall. Currently I'm using samba to transfer files between computers, but I was wondering if once I am on my university's network, whether using FTP would be a better option versus samba over a VPN. The files will range from 100 MB to 17 GB, if that matters. Would one be more efficient over the other? Did I forget any other options?

    I have searched through all the redirects posted buy others and cant quite find the answer to my problem. I have a website with over 3000 pages and we are getting duplication issues within google. We want to keep everything in the parent directory to be http except our contact.php and login.php page. We then have 3 folders that must be secured. admin, clients, customers I have tried using the following code in seperate .htaccess files for each folder, but I keep getting a conflict when I try and I am still trying to find a good solution for the home directory. RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} admin RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.website.com/$1 [R,L] Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    In Scala one might define methods inside other methods. This limits their scope of use to inside of definition block. I use them to improve readability of code that uses several higher-order functions. In contrast to anonymous function literals, this allows me to give them meaningful names before passing them on.   • Unsuccessful error detection of improperly declared method in GCC 4.2 compiler

    I am using C++ compiler GCC 4.2 in XCode 3.2.2. I have noted that the compiler will successfully compile a method foo even though there are no ellipses. The header and method are properly declared as foo(), but when I do a find and replace either by file or by program-wide it will miss approximately 2-3% of the changes [foo to foo(). This would not be critical if the compiler did not give an erroneous successful build. I have not found that this to occur with: foo(any parameter). Does anyone have any solution? Thank you.

I am unsure as to which method would be best for transferring data to and from the server. Both JSON and SOAP require XML processing and I'm not sure how that affects performance or which of those two is best. Having initially run this in a TestMethod, I kept getting an exception resembling "WhenCalled cannot be run without a complementing behavior". I tried defining behaviors for everyone and their mothers, but to no avail. Then I debug stepped through the test run, and saw that an actual exception was fired from Autofac: IRubber has not been registered. So it's obvious that the static Resolve function isn't being faked, and I can't get it to be faked, no matter how I go about hooking it up. Isolate.WhenCalled(() => ResolutionExtensions.Resolve<IRubber>(null)).WillReturn(new BubbleGum()); ... throws an exception from Autofac complaining that the IComponentContext cannot be null. Feeding it the presumably faked IContainer (or faking an IComponentContext instead) gets me back to the "IRubber not registered" error.

  • Cisco Pix how to add an additional block of static ip addresses for nat?

    I have a pix 501 with 5 static ip addresses. My isp just gave me 5 more. I am trying to figure out how to add the new block and then how to nat/open at least one of them to an inside machine. So far, I named a new interface "intf2", ip range is 71.11.11.58 - 62 (gateway should 71.11.11.57) imgsvr is the machine I want to nat to one of the (71.11.11.59) new ip addresses. mail (.123) is an example of a machine that is mapped to the current existing 5 ip block (96.11.11.121 gate / 96.11.11.122-127) and working fine.   • RenderAction in an HtmlHelperExtension Method?

    I am trying to call the RenderAction Extension Method within my own Html Helper: System.Web.Mvc.Html.ChildActionExtensions.RenderAction(helper, "account", "login"); this is so that along with some additional logic, I would like all html helpers to use a common method name structure when calling it on the view: <%= Html.CompanyName().RenderAccount() %> but the problem I am having is that, asp.net will complain about not finding the actual route it needs to process. It does not take in the parameters of "controller" to be used as the action and "login" to be used as the action. It seems to only reference the current route. Any ideas how I can package up the RenderAction?
