  • Jquery ajax load of JSON in unit tests

    - by wmitchell
    I'm trying to load a dataset in jasmine for my tests like such ... However as its a json call I cant seem to always get the test denoted by "it" to wait till the JSON call has finished before using its array. I tried using the ajaxStop function to no avail. Any ideas ? describe("simple checks", function() { var exampleArray = new Array(); beforeEach(function(){ $(document).ajaxStop(function() { $(this).unbind("ajaxStop"); $.getJSON('/jasmine/obj.json', function(data) { $.each( json.jsonattr, function(i, widgetElement) { exampleArray.push(new widget(widgetElement)); }); }); }); }); it("use the exampleArray", function() { doSomething(exampleArray[0]); // frequently this is coming up as undefined });

  • JavaScript - checking for any lowercase letters in a string

    - by pcampbell
Consider a JavaScript method that needs to check whether a given string is in all uppercase letters. The input strings are people's names. The current algorithm is to check for any lowercase letters. var check1 = "Jack Spratt"; var check2 = "BARBARA FOO-BAR"; var check3 = "JASON D'WIDGET"; var isUpper1 = HasLowercaseCharacters(check1); var isUpper2 = HasLowercaseCharacters(check2); var isUpper3 = HasLowercaseCharacters(check3); function HasLowercaseCharacters(string input) { //pattern for finding whether any lowercase alpha characters exist var allLowercase; return allLowercase.test(input); } Is a regex the best way to go here? What pattern would you use to determine whether a string has any lower case alpha characters?

  • How to get which image (its position) is on focus in an Image Gallery?

    - by Spredzy
Hi all, I am playing around with the Gallery widget. I would like to know how can we get the position of the image on focus in the gallery. For example having several pictures in my gallery, if I tap my finger to the right, pictures will come and go until it stop to one. How one can get the position of this one picture that is currently on focus ? I don't know if I was clear enough, if there is anything you want me to add do not hesitate. Thank you,

  • Android Multiple objects in SimpleAdapter

    - by Adam Sherratt
    I have a need (unless you can think of a better way) of passing multiple objects to a custom list adapter. I know that I'm barking up the wrong tree here, and would appreciate someone setting me on the right course! Thanks playlistadapter = new MyPlaylistAdapter(MyApplication.getAppContext(), songsList, retained_songsList, folderMode, R.layout.file_view, new String[] { "songTitle","songAlbum", "songPath" }, new int[] { R.id.checkTextView, R.id.text2, R.id.text3 }); And my adapter class: public class MyPlaylistAdapter extends SimpleAdapter{ private ArrayList <Song> songsList = new ArrayList<Song>(); private ArrayList <Song> retained_songsList = new ArrayList<Song>(); private ArrayList<Song> playlistcheck = new ArrayList<Song>(); private String folderMode; private String TAG = "AndroidMediaCenter"; public MyPlaylistAdapter(Context context,List<Song> SongsList, List<Song> Retained_songsList, String FolderMode,int resource, String[] from, int[] to) { super(context, null, resource, from, to); songsList.clear(); songsList.addAll(SongsList); Log.i(TAG, "MyPlayListAdapter Songslist = " + songsList.size()); retained_songsList.clear(); retained_songsList.addAll(Retained_songsList); folderMode = FolderMode; } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { //PlayListViewHolder holder; CheckedTextView checkTextView; TextView text2; TextView text3; if (convertView == null) { LayoutInflater inflater = (LayoutInflater) MyApplication.getAppContext().getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); //LayoutInflater inflater=getLayoutInflater(); convertView=inflater.inflate(R.layout.file_view, parent, false); //convertView.setBackgroundColor(0xFF00FF00 ); //holder = new PlayListViewHolder(); checkTextView = (CheckedTextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.checkTextView); text2 = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.text2); text3 = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.text3); //convertView.setTag(holder); } else { //holder = (PlayListViewHolder) convertView.getTag(); } //put something into textviews String tracks = null; String tracks_Details = null; String trackspath = null; tracks = songsList.get(position).getSongTitle(); tracks_Details = songsList.get(position).getAlbum() + " (" + songsList.get(position).getArtist() + ")"; trackspath = songsList.get(position).getSongPath(); checkTextView = (CheckedTextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.checkTextView); text2 = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.text2); text3 = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.text3); checkTextView.setText(tracks); if(folderMode.equals("Playlists")){ checkTextView.setBackgroundColor(Color.GREEN); checkTextView.setChecked(false); try { int listsize_rs = retained_songsList.size(); for (int j = 0; j<listsize_rs;j++){ if((retained_songsList.get(j).getSongPath()).equals(songsList.get(position).getSongPath())){ checkTextView.setBackgroundColor(Color.TRANSPARENT); //Need to check here whether the checkedtextview is ticked or not checkTextView.setChecked(true);   • YUI Autocomplete: itemSelectEvent getting lost with IE6 and IE7?

    - by Parand
I'm using YUI Autocomplete (latest version loaded using loader as of today (May 14th, 2010), which looks to be 2.8.1, with the following options: ac = new YAHOO.widget.AutoComplete("mynode", "autocomp_node", ac_ds, {typeAhead: true, forceSelection: true}); ac.itemSelectEvent.subscribe( function(type, args) { alert("hey:" + args[2][1]); $('#parent_id').val(args[2][1]); }); The itemSelectEvent catches selections in AutoComplete and fills in some data on the parent. This works on FF, Chrome, Safari, and IE8. On IE6 and IE7, however, the event never seems to trigger. To replicate: In the autocomplete field, allow it to autofill for you, then hit enter. This should select the autofill and move on to the next field (that's what it does in other browsers). With IE6 and IE7 it seems to instead trigger the form submission - the itemSelectEvent never fires (or perhaps fires after the form submission?). Has anyone seen this? Any work-arounds?

  • Automating site interaction

    - by Leocer
I'm working with a CMS and need to import data to it using typical html forms. The data itself is in csv files with one page per row. Such is the CMS that importing directly to db isn't possible due to the complexity of the design. It's pretty important that i "fake" usual user interaction because the CMS does a lot of background work that's crucial for the import. Basically, for each row in the csv file, I need to copy a csv column to a html textfield, or select a checkbox, or click a certain button. One major issue is mapping the data in the csv to actions in the CMS. So if one column contains the string 'foobar' is really means "set the firstName dropdown widget to 'foobar'". Is there a tool to automate this? I´ve been looking at AutoHotKey, Selendium, Web-Harvester and many other tools but I'm not convinced they are the correct tools. The main problem is being able to interact with the html pages in a easy way.

  • Getting ID of a cloned element

    - by Haris
I'm using jQuery draggable and droppable. I'm cloning the draggable widget on drop event of droppable. I want to fetch the ID of the cloned element which will be sent to the the application with the AJAX request. I'm unable to fetch the ID. console.log returns blank string. var dropElem = ui.draggable.html(); var clone = $(dropElem).clone(); var widgetType = $(clone).attr('id'); $(this).append(clone); Also, I want to change the ID of the cloned element on the response event of the ajax request. How do I specially change the ID of the cloned event after it has been appended?

  • Dynamic CSS class names in GWT

    - by Anupam Jain
I am in the process of porting a simple CSS grid system to GWT. My CSS file currently has classes like .size1, .size2 etc., and I have a CSS resource that looks like - class MyResource extends CSSResource { @ClassName("size1") String size1(); @ClassName("size2") String size2(); // And so on } However what I really want, is to have a single function like the following - String size(int size); which will generate the appropriate class when passed the size as an integer at runtime. This is needed as I perform some calculations to determine the actual space available/needed for a widget in javascript and then attach the appropriate class name. Is this something that is even possible with GWT?

  • How can I use html/javascript to make <a> link trigger an embedded flash object?

    - by MikeN
Using HTML/Javascript I want to make an link trigger a flash object that is normally triggered by clicking on the flash itself. The flash objects is actually the "Call Me Now" button from Google Voice which looks something like: <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="https://clients4.google.com/voice/embed/webCallButton" width="230" height="85"> <param name="movie" value="https://clients4.google.com/voice/embed/webCallButton"/> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="FlashVars" /> </object> When you click on the object the first time it brings up a set of fields to enter your phone number in to make the call. So I want to be able to trigger that action by having a user click on a different link (which would actually be the phone number that the widget would call.)

  • Can a flex app (or a portion of a flex app) be made transparent to mouse clicks?

    - by Sam Jones
I need to superimpose my Flex app above a plain HTML control on a web page, and be able to click through the Flex app to interact with the HTML control. Is there any way to do this? No permutation of mouseEnabled="false" or mouseChildren="false" seems to have the desired effect. Context: trying to integrate Google Earth API (JavaScript/HTML) with my flex app. I am leaving a portion of the flex app transparent and empty, and positioning the Google Earth widget just below that point in the z-index. Google Earth has to be behind flex, because there are some Flex controls periodically displayed in that space.

  • Validating Column Data Stored as CSV Against Another Table

    - by Jakkwylde
I wanted to see what some suggested approaches would be to validate a field that is stored as a CSV against a table containing appropriate values. Althought it would be desired, it is NOT an option to split the CSV list into another related table. In the example data below I would be trying to capture the code 99 for widget A. Below is an example data representation. Table: Widgets WidgetName WidgetCodeList A 1, 2, 3 B 1 C 2, 3 D 99 Table: WidgetCodes WidgetCode 1 2 3 An earlier approach was to query the CSV column as rows using various string manipulations and CONNECT_BY_LEVEL however the performance was not acceptible.

  • Problem with notification bar in fullscreen app

    - by Mathias Lin
I run an app in fullscreen mode where fullscreen is defined as a theme in xml for the entire app. <style name="AskTingTingTheme" parent="android:Theme"> <item name="android:windowNoTitle">true</item> <item name="android:windowFullscreen">true</item> <item name="android:windowBackground">@null</item> </style> Generally it works ok, but there are some issues in some cases: 1) when I open the search dialog via search button - Screenshot: http://tinyurl.com/3xzadft 2) when I open spinner widgets that are very long and fill the screen (so that the list is usually scrollable) - Screenshot: http://tinyurl.com/39q5ya2 The problem is that when I open the search dialog or spinner widget, the system notification bar occurs for a few millisecs and then scrolls off the screen again. Please see the screenshots linked above. I'm currently on 2.2 with NexusOne, but same thing happened on 2.1update1 (esp. case 2) as well before.

  • Compare TinyMCE and CKeditor for a Wiki

    - by Lakshman Prasad
For a custom wiki django-wakawaka, i want to be able to add a WYSIWYG support. TinyMCE is obviously the most popular plugin, used even by Wordpress. But CK-editor seems more feature full. Those who have used either of these or both, which is better and why. Are there some better packages, that I am missing? Is there something that I am missing when I conclude CKeditor is better, by going through them (because it is not as widely used). I want to use it with django and jquery, with multiple instances of WYSIWYG widget per page. Does one offer advantage over the other.

  • Unit Testing User Interface. What is an effective way ?

    - by pierocampanelli
I have an accounting & payroll client/server application where there are several input form with complex data validation rules. I am finding an effective way to perform unit testing of user interface. For complex validation rules I mean: "Disable button X if I Insert a value in textfield Y" "Enable a combobox if I insert a value in a textfield" ...... ...... Most promising pattern i have found is suggested by M. Fowler (http://martinfowler.com/eaaDev/ModelViewPresenter.html). Have you any experience about Unit Testing of User Interface? As technology stack I am using: .NET 3.5 & Windows Forms Widget Library.

  • What should I do that GWT use <th> instead of <td>?

    - by Paulus
To build a HTML table I use direct DOM instead of a predefined Widget to set thead and tbody. But when I insert a cell with the insertCell() method GWT inserts an td element but should insert an th element. So TableElement table = Document.get().createTableElement(); TableSectionElement thead = table.createTHead(); TableRowElement headRow = thead.insertRow(-1); headRow.insertCell(-1).setInnerText( "header1" ); gives table/thead/tr/td but should give table/thead/tr/th Any idea how to solve this problem? Use the "old-school" DOM.createXXX()-Methods?

  • Using textbox text in javascript

    - by Jambo
I am working with Twitter widgets with the following script- <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> <input type="button" value="Run Function" onclick="test();" /> <script> function test() { new TWTR.Widget({ version: 3, type: 'profile', rpp: 8, interval: 30000, width: 315, height: 340, theme: { shell: { background: '#333333', color: '#ffffff' }, tweets: { background: '#000000', color: '#ffffff', links: '#4aed05' } }, features: { scrollbar: false, loop: false, live: false, behavior: 'all' } }).render().setUser(document.getElementById('TextBox1').value).start(); } When using the function test(); in the button click it is ocming up with the error - Error: Unable to get value of the property 'value': object is null or undefined So it seems like it is not getting to the value at - (document.getElementById('TextBox1').value) I am not sure why it is null if the text box has a value and then the script is run on the button click?

  • iPhone --- 3DES Encryption returns "wrong" results?

    - by Jan Gressmann
Hello fellow developers, I have some serious trouble with a CommonCrypto function. There are two existing applications for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile, both use Triple-DES encryption with ECB mode for data exchange. On either the encrypted results are the same. Now I want to implent the 3DES encryption into our iPhone application, so I went straight for CommonCrypto: http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/CommonCrypto/CommonCrypto-32207/CommonCrypto/CommonCryptor.h I get some results if I use CBC mode, but they do not correspond with the results of Java or C#. Anyway, I want to use ECB mode, but I don't get this working at all - there is a parameter error showing up... This is my call for the ECB mode... I stripped it a little bit: const void *vplainText; plainTextBufferSize = [@"Hello World!" length]; bufferPtrSize = (plainTextBufferSize + kCCBlockSize3DES) & ~(kCCBlockSize3DES - 1); plainText = (const void *) [@"Hello World!" UTF8String]; NSString *key = @"abcdeabcdeabcdeabcdeabcd"; ccStatus = CCCrypt(kCCEncrypt, kCCAlgorithm3DES, kCCOptionECBMode, key, kCCKeySize3DES, nil, // iv, not used with ECB plainText, plainTextBufferSize, (void *)bufferPtr, // output bufferPtrSize, &movedBytes); t is more or less the code from here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9017515 But as already mentioned, I get a parameter error each time... When I use kCCOptionPKCS7Padding instead of kCCOptionECBMode and set the same initialization vector in C# and my iPhone code, the iPhone gives me different results. Is there a mistake by getting my output from the bufferPtr? Currently I get the encrypted stuff this way: NSData *myData = [NSData dataWithBytes:(const void *)bufferPtr length:(NSUInteger)movedBytes]; result = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:myData encoding:NSISOLatin1StringEncoding]; It seems I almost tried every setting twice, different encodings and so on... where is my error?

  • how to create multiple selections in text edit box in qt4?

    - by Ronny
Qt3.3 used to allow for multiple selections in the QTextEdit widget by calling the setSelection() function and specifying a different selection id (selNum) as the last argument in that function. In Qt4, to create a selection, I do it by creating a QTextCursor object and call the setPosition() or movePosition() methods. I have no problems being able to create a single selection of text. I am, however, unable to find a way to create multiple selections. The methods in Qt4 do not have an argument which allows you to set a selection id, nor can i find any other function in the QTextCursor or QTextEdit which looks like it might allow me to do so. Has this feature been completely removed from Qt4? or has is there a new and different way of doing it? Thanks. Ronny

  • HTML 5 drag-drop into wysiwyg editor in Firefox

    - by einarq
I have a wysiwyg editor using the HTML 5 drag-drop api to allow the user to place widgets within the page they are editing. When the OnDrop event fires, I prevent the default event, and insert some html within the editor that represents the widget they inserted. I use execCommand("inserthtml", false, html) for this in Firefox. This works fine in IE, but in Firefox the html is not placed in the location where it was dropped. It always gets placed in the location where the previous selection was, which leads me to believe that cancelling the OnDrop event to override the default drop also cancels the selection change. Any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks!
