  • Matlab - applying low-pass filter to a vector?

    If I have a simple low-pass filter, e.g. filt = fir1(20, 0.2); and a matrix with a list of numbers (a signal), e.g. [0.1, -0.2, 0.3, -0.4] etc, how do I actually apply the filter I've created to this signal? Seems like a simple question but I've been stuck for hours. Do I need to manually calculate it from the filter coefficients?

    Currently in my tests I do something like this to test if an email is queued to be sent assert_difference('ActionMailer::Base.deliveries.size', 1) do get :create_from_spreedly, {:user_id => @logged_in_user.id} end but if i a controller action can send two different emails i.e. one to the user if sign up goes fine or a notification to admin if something went wrong - how can i test which one actually got sent. The code above would pass regardless.

  • Is there any way to filter certain things in pages served by IIS?

    Hello, This is my first time posting here so please keep that in mind... I'll try to be short and get right to defining the problem. We have an ASP.NET 2 application (eCommerce package) running on IIS (Windows Server 2003). The main site's page(s) are using plain HTTP (no SSL), but the whole checkout process and the shopping cart page is using SSL (HTTPS). Now, the problem is that the site's header is located in a template file, and inside it it has a plain HTML 'img' tag calling an image with the "http://" portion hard-coded into it... This header appears on absolutely every page (including the https pages), and due to its insecure image tag, a warning box pops up in IE on every stage of the checkout process... Now, the problem: The live application cannot be touched in any way (no changes can be made to the template (so simply changing "http://" to "//" is not an option), IIS cannot be restarted, and the website/app pool cannot be restarted). Is there any way in the world (maybe plugin for IIS or a setting somewhere) that I can filter the pages right before they are served to replace the '<img src="http://example.com/image.jpg">' with '<img src="//example.com/image.jpg">' in the final HTML? Possibly via a regular expression or something? Thanks to everybody in advance.

  • Yet another Rails routing question

    I can't seem to grasp the Rails routing just yet. I want to be able to link the site to, for example, ...com/store/xbox360/Mass Effect 2 (which is /store(my controller)/:system/:title). I have the database entries that include the :system and :title variables (?). How would I route these to show up and filter these entries? Or is this something I need to set up in the controller?     In my AppEngine project I have a need to use a certain filter as a base then apply various different extra filters to the end, retrieving the different result sets separately. e.g.: base_query = MyModel.all().filter('mainfilter', 123) Then I need to use the results of various sub queries separately: subquery1 = basequery.filter('subfilter1', 'xyz') #Do something with subquery1 results here subquery2 = basequery.filter('subfilter2', 'abc') #Do something with subquery2 results here Unfortunately 'filter()' affects the state of the basequery Query instance, rather than just returning a modified version. Is there any way to duplicate the Query object and use it as a base? Is there perhaps a standard Python way of duping an object that could be used? The extra filters are actually applied by the results of different forms dynamically within a wizard, and they use the 'running total' of the query in their branch to assess whether to ask further questions. Obviously I could pass around a rudimentary stack of filter criteria, but I'd rather use the Query itself if possible, as it adds simplicity and elegance to the solution.

    Hi gusy, I just installed XAMPP, Apache is running, so is MySQL and Mercury. In Dreamweaver I created a php file with a mail($to,$subject,$msg,'From:'.$email); function, but when I ran the file from localhost it showed an error. After playing around with xampp control panel, turning mercury on and off, it's not showing any errors, yet is not send the email either... any ideas? the 'admin' button on the cp for mercury does nothing. I have made some researches and I think that the best way to implement that is using pearson correlation and make a table with item1, item2 and correlation fields, but the problem is that after each rate of item I have to regenerate the correlation for in the worst case N records (where N is the number of items).     I'm working on a project to auto-configure a user's email server settings in Java. I am extracting the mail server from his email address and looking up the MX records of that mail server using the DirContext class with com.sun.jndi.dns.DnsContextFactory. Then I'm opening a Socket to each server and testing them using a HELO command and checking the responses. My problem is that this works only when I test it with the unsecure SMTP port 25. How can I use it with the secure port 465? I tried using Secure Sockets by using SSLSocketFactory sslsocketfactory = (SSLSocketFactory)SSLSocketFactory.getDefault(); SSLSocket socket = (SSLSocket)sslsocketfactory.createSocket(mailserver, STANDARD_SMTP_PORT); But all connections get a timeout exception as follows alt1.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com. java.net.ConnectException: Operation timed out Please help.

    Recently I bumped into a problem where my OpenGL program would not render textures correctly on a 2-year-old Lenovo laptop with an nVidia Quadro 140 card. It runs OpenGL 2.1.2, and GLSL 1.20, but when I turned on mip-mapping, the whole screen is black, with no warnings or errors. This is my texture filter code: glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, GL_LINEAR); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_GENERATE_MIPMAP, GL_TRUE); After 40 minutes of fiddling around, I found out mip-mapping was the problem. Turning it off fixed it: // glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, GL_LINEAR); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, GL_LINEAR); // glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_GENERATE_MIPMAP, GL_TRUE); I get a lot of aliasing, but at least the program is visible and runs fine. Finally, two questions: What's the best or standard way to check if mip-mapping is available on a machine, aside from checking OpenGL versions? If mip-mapping is not available, what's the best work-around to avoid aliasing?

    I'm starting to get familiar with the new iOS 6 way to share: UIActivityViewController (the same as when you share a photo from the native iOS photo app), but I'm experiencing a few problems. First, when I choose to share via email, I can't find a way to set the subject of the email. Second, when I post on twitter, I can't find how to post a URL (except explicitly writing it in a NSString). Before, on iOS 5, I was using MFMailComposeViewController for Mail and SLComposeViewController for Twitter. It worked well. If there's no way to choose the subject with UIActivityViewController, could there be a way that I put my own custom buttons on the ActivityViewController, buttons that will call MFMailComposeViewController and SLComposeViewController when touched? I'm just speculating here. Thanks!

  • Best approch to dynamically filter .net objects

    The project i´m working currently on has a way to define a filter to filter objects from a database. This filter is a pretty straitforward class containing filtercriteria that will be combined to a sql where-clause. The goal now is to use this filter class to filter .net objects as well. So the filter for example defines, that the title property of the object that it is applied to must contain some userdefined string etc. What are ways to approch this problem? What should the filter return instead of the sql where-clause and how can it be applied to the object? I´m thinking about this for hours and don´t yet have even a slight idea how to solve this. Been thinking about reflection, dynamic code execution, building expressions but still haven´t found an acutal starting point.
