• How can a CentOS 6 guest running in VirtualBox be configured as a LAMP server that can be accessed from the Windows host?

  I was able to conect Centos6 on Virtual Box to Windows (I can ping in both directions) with Host-only Adapter (for connection between the two) and NAT Adapter (to enable Linux on VB to connect to the Internet). I want to set up httpd, mysql and vsftpd servers and in the end easily connect to httpd from Windows based browser and ftp server with a Windows based client as well. I would also want to have access through SSH. I have a general idea of the steps that are involved, but there is also a configuration that I am not sure about at this point. Lets say I follow these steps: yum install httpd yum install php php-pear php-mysql yum install mysql-server mysql_secure_installation yum install vsftpd yum install mod_ssl Technically I have everything installed, but what would be the next steps that I need to take (from the networking point of view, so to speak) to get it all working)? I know I need to configure, at least Apache, and ftp server, but I am not sure how is it gonna work; like where am I gonna be uloading the sites (I know this can vary), how am I gonna know what address to use in a browser if I wanna go to a website x, y, z on that installation etc. This sounds like I need to do some kind of DNS setup and I am kind of stuck at this point. If somebody could give me a general outline of what are the things that need to be done that would be great (I was looking at a lot of websites and I know about etc/sysconfig/network, httpd.config - not too much about it on Apache's site, hostname, hostname -f etc; but it is kind of hard to piece it all together at this point). I am gonna be looking at the books also, but they not always reflect the setup that I have too (VirtualBox). Thank you.

• Test whether svn REPO changes are reflected in Working Copy

  Requirement Changes will be made to the REPO directory and this should get updated to wc(working copy) as opposed to the normal way of WC REPO. Senario: My svn repo- /var/www/svn/drupal My checkout-dir/working-copy- /var/www/html/drupalsite So I've done: edited post-commit hook to contain: "/usr/bin/svn update /var/www/html/drupalsite" I won't make any change to svn WC. I'll make changes to svn REPO- /var/www/svn/drupal. After changes are made to svn repo, run "svn commit /var/www/html/drupalsite". This will trigger the post-commit hook. This inturn will run "svn update /var/www/svn/drupal" and thus my WC will get updated with the changes of REPO. Query a. Would the above steps 1-3 help achieve my 'Requirement'? b. I'd need advise on how to test if the above setup works successfully or not. I'm at loss about the success of steps 1-3 the reason why query(a) is present. This is a bit more of a concern for me. NB: I'm new to subversion. Whatever I've configured till now have been done by reading articles online. Reason for query (b) is because I'm not into development. It seems to be a php drupal website and I happen to be setting it up. So I'm not aware as to how to make a "PROPER" change in REPO so that it gets reflected in WC. If reflected, my configs are right and the team can start on development. I manually put a random file/folder into REPO dir for seeing a change in WC and ran steps 1-3 but was of no avail and later on learned that it was NOT the way to make a change to a REPO. • Adding 2nd DC to the domain from a different subnet over VPN.

  I'm in the process of adding a second DC to our domain and just want to make sure I have all the steps right before proceeding. Info: DC1 is 2008 R2 Standard. DC2 is 2008 R2 Standard. Network1 is 192.168.39.x/24 Network2 is 10.0.0.x/24 VPN is Sonicwall. The 2 DC's will be at two different sites, but the networks are connected by hardware VPN. (Sonicwall). The main DC server will be on the 192.168.39.0/24 network. The 2nd DC will be on 10.0.0.0/24. Here are the steps I plan to take; please let me know if I'm missing anything. Part 1: AD Sites and Services on DC1, create a new site and subnet for DC2. (Or should I create a new one for both?) (Can I use the default IPSiteLink and not change anything in there other than refresh timer?) Part 2: Point the DNS of DC2 to DC1. Run /forestprep and /domainprep (on both, or just DC1?). Dcpromo and select "Additional Domain Controller for Existing Domain". Then continue with normal steps with default locations for databases. EDIT: Didn't realize this was like reddit and required two skipped lines to skip one :P EDIT 2: When DCPromo-ing DC2, do I need to have "Append primary and connection specific DNS" and "Append parent suffixes of the primary DNS suffix" checked?

• How to safely move where itunes saves music/iphone apps/and meta data to another internal Drive?

  In the past, when I have moved my itunes data from one computer to another, I usually just follow these steps: Copy the contents of two folders: %USERPROFILE%\Music\iTunes %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer 1) Install iTunes on the new computer, start it and close it (don't let it search for music). 2) Copy all the files in the above folders from old PC to new PC. 3) Start iTunes and authorize the new computer (and deauthorize old one). 4) Before syncing, update all iphone apps to current versions on both my iphone and in itunes. 5) The Sync. The above steps always work for me, and basically Itunes on my new PC works exactly as it did on the old PC. My Question: In the hopes of bybassing the above steps in the future, I would like to just have Itunes use another internal Drive that I use for file storage (e.g. D:/) as the path for the above two directory? Then if I move to new PC again, I could just setup itunes to use the correct path. Is that possible yet with minimal implications? If so how?

• UpdatePanel doesn't load correctly on second try

  Ok, I've got two UpdatePanels on a (relatively simple) CRUD-management page, and I'm having some issues with them. The first updatepanel fails the second time it's updated (infinite loading popout, page doesn't change, request comes back properly but apparently isn't used). The second updatepanel fails if the first updatepanel has updated first, or if a certain internal trigger is pressed twice. Interestingly, the first updatepanel can be called multiple times with no problems if the first has yet to be called. layout example: <updatepanel> <table> <trigger> </table> </updatepanel> <lightbox> <updatepanel> <multiple triggers> </updatepanel> </lightbox> The use of the second updatepanel is required for the lightbox to function correctly (so it can't just be one big one). The first updatepanel exhibits this behaviour regardless of whether the second is present on the page or not. Has anyone ever experienced similar problems/have any ideas?

  Here's probably a very noobish question for you: How (if at all possible) can I return an ifstream from a function? Basically, I need to obtain the filename of a database from the user, and if the database with that filename does not exist, then I need to create that file for the user. I know how to do that, but only by asking the user to restart the program after creating the file. • jquery selector logical AND?

  In jQuery I'm trying to select only mount nodes where a and b's text values are 64 and "test" accordingly. I'd also like to fallback to 32 if no 64 and "test" exist. What I'm seeing with the code below though, is that the 32 mount is being returned instead of the 64. • Powershell / .Net: Get a reference to an object returned by a method

  I am teaching myself PowerShell by writing a simple parser. I use the .Net framework class Collections.Stack. I want to modify the object at the top of the stack in place. I know I can pop() the object off, modify it, and then push() it back on, but that strikes me as inelegant. First, I tried this: $stk = new-object Collections.Stack $stk.push( (,'My first value') ) ( $stk.peek() ) += ,'| My second value' Which threw an error: Assignment failed because [System.Collections.Stack] doesn't contain a settable property 'peek()'. At C:\Development\StackOverflow\PowerShell-Stacks\test.ps1:3 char:12 + ( $stk.peek <<<< () ) += ,'| My second value' + CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (peek:String) [], RuntimeException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : ParameterizedPropertyAssignmentFailed Next I tried this: $ary = $stk.peek() $ary += ,'| My second value' write-host "Array is: $ary" write-host "Stack top is: $($stk.peek())" Which prevented the error but still didn't do the right thing: Array is: My first value | My second value Stack top is: My first value Clearly, what is getting assigned to $ary is a copy of the object at the top of the stack, so when I the object in $ary, the object at the top of the stack remains unchanged. Finally, I read up on teh [ref] type, and tried this: $ary_ref = [ref]$stk.peek() $ary_ref.value += ,'| My second value' write-host "Referenced array is: $($ary_ref.value)" write-host "Stack top is still: $($stk.peek())" But still no dice: Referenced array is: My first value | My second value Stack top is still: My first value I assume the peek() method returns a reference to the actual object, not the clone. If so, then the reference appears to be being replaced by a clone by PowerShell's expression processing logic. Can somebody tell me if there is a way to do what I want to do? Or do I have to revert to pop() / modify / push()?

• Custom listbox sorting

  I need to sort the data contained within a number of listboxes. The user will be able to select between two different types of sorting using radio boxes, one of which is checked by default on form load. I have created the IF statements needed in order to test whether the checked condition is true for that radio button. but i need some help to create the custom sort algorithms. Each list with contain similar looking data, the only difference in the prefix with which each line starts. For example each line in the first listbox starts with the prefix "G30" and the second listbox will be "G31" and so on. There are 10 listboxes in total (G30-G39 in terms of prefixes). The first search algorithm has to sort the lines by the number order of the first 13 chars. Example: This is how the data looks before sorting G35:45:58:11 JG07 G35:45:20:41 JG01 G35:58:20:21 JG03 G35:66:22:20 JG05 G35:45:85:21 JG02 G35:64:56:11 JG03 G35:76:35:11 JG02 G35:77:97:12 JG03 G35:54:29:11 JG01 G35:55:51:20 JG01 G35:76:24:20 JG06 G35:76:55:11 JG01 and this is how it should look after sorting G35:45:20:41 JG01 G35:45:58:11 JG07 G35:45:85:21 JG02 G35:54:29:11 JG01 G35:55:51:20 JG01 G35:58:20:21 JG03 G35:64:56:11 JG03 G35:66:22:20 JG05 G35:76:24:20 JG06 G35:76:35:11 JG02 G35:76:55:11 JG01 G35:77:97:12 JG03 as you can see, the prefixes are the same. so it is sorted, lowest first, by the next pair integers, then the next pair and the next but not by the value after "JG". the second sort algorithm will ignore the first 13 chars and sort by order of the value after "JG", highest first. any help? theres some rep in it for you :) thanks in advance

• Consecutive Tables in Latex

  Hi, I wonder how to place several tables consecutively in Latex? The page with the text right before the first table has a little space but not enough for the first table, so the first table is to be placed on the top of the next page, although I use "\begin{table}[!h]" for it. The second table does not fit into the place in the rest of the page of the first table, so I think I might use longtable for it to span the rest of the page and the top of the next page. Similarly, I use longtable for the third table. The latex code is as follows: ... % some text \begin{table}[!h] \caption{Table 1. \label{tab:1}} \begin{center} \begin{tabular}{c c} ... \end{tabular} \end{center} \end{table} \begin{center} \begin{longtable}{ c c } \caption{Table 2. \label{tab:2}}\\ ... \end{longtable} \end{center} \begin{center} \begin{longtable}{ c c } \caption{Table 3. \label{tab:3}}\\ ... \end{longtable} \end{center} ... % some text In the compiled pdf file it turns out that the order of the tables is messed up. The first table is placed behind the second and third one, and the second one spans the page with text before the tables and the next page with the third one following it. I would like to know how I can make the three tables appear consecutively in order, and there are no space left blank between them and between the text and the tables? Or if what I hope is not possible, what is the best strategy then? Thanks and regards! EDIT: Removing [!h] does not make improvement, the first table is still behind the second and the third.

• How to make a cell in a datagrid readonly based the content on another cell in SL4?

  I have two columns, the second column depends on the content on the first column. By default, the second columns is readonly. When I enter some valid value, I want the second column to become editable. To achive this, I created a cell template and cell edit template on the second column where back ground and read only bound to the first column. On load, the first column is null so my second columns comes correctly as read only. • Reporting Services 2005 - Parameter reliant on cascading parameters

  Good day I have the following: In a SSRS 2005 report I have three report parameters: FinancialPeriodType ("Month" or "Week" in a DropDownList), FinancialPeriod (cascading DropDownList populated depending on first selection) and another parameter, OpeningBalance, of type float. The first two parameters are cascading i.e. the first parameter is used by the query populating the second's available values. This works fine. What I'm attemping to do is default the value of OpeningBalance to a value from a dataset populated by a stored procedure which takes in the first two parameters. However as soon as I select a value for the first parameter, I get the following error: An error occurred during report processing. The value for the report parameter 'OpeningBalance' is not valid for its type.' I've tried setting the default of the second parameter to be a meaningful default (something like 200901) as well as defaulting the second parameter in the SQL store procedure with no affect. Using SQL Profiler I've noticed that selecting a value for the first parameter doesn't even execute the SQL used to obtain available values for the second parameter.

If I comment out the end = line, everything seems to run correctly, so it doesn't seem to be the use of my local DateAndTimeDisplayString method, so the only thing I can think of is Linq to Sql doesn't like Ternary operators? I think I've used ternary operators before, but I can't remember if I did it in this code base or another code base (that uses EF4 instead of L2S). Is this true, or am I missing some other issue?

It works great if I run it without using the file and I get all the correct results, but when I try to save the result in the file, I get only the first node which contains (first, secnd).   I want to write some code which takes any positive, even number (greater than 2) and gives me the smallest pair of primes that sum up to this number. I need this program to handle any integer up to 9 digits long. My aim is to make something that looks like this: Please enter a positive even integer ( greater than 2 ) : 10 The first primes adding : 3+7=10. Please enter a positive even integer ( greater than 2 ) : 160 The first primes adding : 3+157=160. Please enter a positive even integer ( greater than 2 ) : 18456 The first primes adding : 5+18451=18456. I don't want to use any library besides stdio.h. I don't want to use arrays, strings, or anything besides for the most basic toolbox: scanf, printf, for, while, do-while, if, else if, break, continue, and the basic operators (<,, ==, =+, !=, %, *, /, etc...). Please no other functions especially is_prime. I know how to limit the input to my needs so that it loops until given a valid entry. So now I'm trying to figure out the algorithm. • What else I must do allow my method to handle any type of objects

  So to allow any type object I must use generics in my code. I have rewrote this method to do so, but then when I create an object, for example Milk, it won't let me pass it to my method. Ether there's something wrong with my generic revision, or Milk object I created is not good. How should I pass my object correctly and add it to linked list? • jCarousel jQuery ajax loading 1000 records

  I'm using jCarousel to present a vertical scolling list of +-1000 names. I am using ajax to load the data 100 records at a time then when all the data has loaded I just let the jCarousel loop in the DOM. • How to stop calling the Activity again when device orientation is changed??

  My app uses Barcode Scanner. I want to launch the scanner when I open the app so I have it in the onCreate method. The problem is that if I have it like that, when I turn the device it calls again onCreate and calls another scanner. Also I have the first activity that calls the scanner. it has a menu so if he user presses back, it goes to that menu. If I turn the screen on that menu, it goes to barcode scanner again. To solve it I have a flag that indicates if it is the first time I call the scanner, if it's not I don't call it again. Now the problem is that if I go out of the app and go in again it doesn't go to the scanner, it goes to the menu, becasuse is not the first time I call it. Any ideas?? Is there a way to change the flag when I go out of my main activity or any other solution??
