  • Custom Tabcontrol in silverlight 4

    Hello, I'm trying to design a tab control which will have a tabs on left hane hand side, and will have a text displayed vertically besides it. And will have the Page displayed in the main tab control. For reference you can visit : http://www.nseindia.com/ and click on any tab in the main menu. How can it be designed? I have created a style in App.xaml since it would be applicable to all tabs. But I'm not sure how to get the control's name in the page I would be using. Thanks.

    I have an object: POP_CULTURE_TYPES = ( ('SG','Song'), ('MV', 'Movie'), ('GM', 'Game'), ('TV', 'TV'), ) class Pop_Culture(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=30, unique=True) type = models.CharField(max_length=2, choices = POP_CULTURE_TYPES, blank=True, null=True) Then I have a function: def choice_list(request, modelname, field_name): mdlnm = get.model('mdb', modelname.lower()) mdlnm = mdlnm.objects.values_list(field_name, flat=True).distinct().order_by(field_name) return render_to_response("choice_list.html", { 'model' : modelname, 'field' : field_name, 'field_list' : mdlnm }) This gives me a distinct list of all the "type" entries in the database in the "field_list" variable passed in render_to_response. But I don't want a list that shows: SG MV I want a list that shows: Song Movie I can do this on an individual object basis if I was in the template object.get_type_display But how do I get a list of all of the unique "type" entries in the database as their full names for output into a template? I hope this question was clearly described. . .

  • System Tray Popup Windows 7 Style

    Hey All, I want something like this: http://cybernetnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/windows-7-wireless.jpg This window is not resizable, and aligns itself above the system tray icon which it is related to. I have this: http://i.imgur.com/79FZi.png Which is resizeable, and it goes wherever it feels like. If you click the volume control in Win 7, it always pops up directly above the icon. This is ideal. I've found this reference which I think is trying to solve the same problem (can't tell though as the images are dead), http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2169006/create-a-system-tray-styled-box-in-winforms-c but I'm using WPF and I'm not sure how to get these Form objects they refer to from my Window object. I'd like to do something like this to the resulting list //nhibernate query IList<MedicalDays> days = daysDao.FindAll(searchCritCollection); //select a list of days from resulting list IEnumerable<MedicalDays> queriedList = days.SelectMany(i => i.MedicalRequest.MedicalUser == employee); Linq tells me that the type cannot be inferred by the usage. I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong, and if there is a preferred way of doing something like this. Thanks for your time.

    A common 'Perlism' is generating a list as something to loop over in this form: for($str=~/./g) { print "the next character from \"$str\"=$_\n"; } In this case the global match regex returns a list that is one character in turn from the string $str, and assigns that value to $_ Instead of a regex, split can be used in the same way or 'a'..'z', map, etc. I am investigating unpack to generate a field by field interpretation of a string. I have always found unpack to be less straightforward to the way my brain works, and I have never really dug that deeply into it. As a simple case, I want to generate a list that is one character in each element from a string using unpack (yes -- I know I can do it with split(//,$str) and /./g but I really want to see if unpack can be used this way...) Obviously, I can use a field list for unpack that is unpack("A1" x length($str), $str) but is there some other way that kinda looks like globbing? ie, can I call unpack(some_format,$str) either in list context or in a loop such that unpack will return the next group of character in the format group until $str is exausted?   • Vertical-centering and overflow Excel-style in CSS?

    Is there a way to perform a vertical centering of a variable-sized multi-line content within a fixed-size div, with hidden overflow? The aim would be to reproduce what you can see in Excel cells: when the content fits the container, it should be vertically centered, when it is larger, the parts that overflow should be hidden (and the content still vertically aligned), like in an Excel cell whose neighbours aren't empty. I know how to vertically center using CSS, I know how to hide overflow when the content isn't vertically centered, but I've no idea how to do both at the same time... Is Javascript the only answer? The trick is that CSS positioning approaches don't work with variable-sized content (my content is dynamic text), and when you use display:table-cell, it effectively disables CSS overflow control (and the container grows to accomodate the content).

    Just a quick and simple question: in PostgreSQL, how do you list the names of all stored functions/stored procedures using a table using just a SELECT statement, if possible? If a simple SELECT is insufficient, I can make do with a stored function. My question, I think, is somewhat similar to this other question, but this other question is for SQL Server 2005: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/119679/list-of-stored-procedure-from-table (optional) For that matter, how do you also list the triggers and constraints that use the same table in the same manner?

    I am using jquery UI tabs and I need to majorly change the styling on it. I need to rempve the background image, the borders, almost everything. I need it to look minimal, and not like it's self contained. What's the best way to do this? I need to use the default UI styling for the calendar widget however, which is on the same page. I've done a lot of research and everyone seems to point to the theme-roller. However, i do not just want to change the colors and border radii. I need to delete crap. theme-roller seems to be just change things like colors (not really useful for the real world) Is it even worth using jquery UI for my tabs?

    Right so i am working with hibernate gilead and gwt to persist my data on users and files of a website. my users have a list of file locations. i am using annotations to map my classes to the database. i am getting a org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException when i try to add file locations to the list that is held in the user class. this is a method below that is overridden from a external file upload servlet class that i am using. when the file uploads it calls this method. the user1 is loaded from the database elsewhere. the exception occurs at user1.getFileLocations().add(fileLocation); I would like to use JsonRequestBuilder to interact with this backend function I defined a AsyncCallback this way class MyCallBack extends AsyncCallback<List<MyObject>> { However, JsonpRequestBuilder does not this declaration AsyncCallback because the generic type is bounded to <T extends JavaScriptObject. List<MyObject does not satisfy this requirement. Do you have any suggestion to this problem?

  • Custom Django admin URL + changelist view for custom list filter by Tags

    In django admin I wanted to set up a custom filter by tags (tags are introduced with django-tagging) I've made the ModelAdmin for this and it used to work fine, by appending custom urlconf and modifying the changelist view. It should work with URLs like: http://127.0.0.1:8000/admin/reviews/review/only-tagged-vista/ But now I get 'invalid literal for int() with base 10: 'only-tagged-vista', error which means it keeps matching the review edit page instead of the custom filter page, and I cannot figure out why since it used to work and I can't find what change might have affected this. Any help appreciated.     Most UNIX regular expressions have, besides the usual *,+,? operators a backslash operator where \1,\2,... match whatever's in the last parentheses, so for example L=(a)b\1* matches the (non regular) language a^n b a^n On one hand, this seems to be pretty powerful since you can create (a*)b\1b\1 to match the language a^n b a^n b a^n which can't even be recognized by a stack automaton. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure a^n b^n cannot be expressed this way. Two questions: 1. Is there any literature on this family of languages (UNIX-y regular). In particular, is there a version of the pumping lemma for these? 2. Can someone prove (or perhaps disprove) that a^n b^n cannot be expressed this way? Thanks

    Hi, I'm trying to use the sortable widget for my site. I have a mini scheduling app that I'd like to display a list of appointments for the week sorted by days. For this example we'll use only two days ( 2 lists ). If I wanted to drag an appointment (list item) from day 2 over to day 1, is there a way I can callback the id of list 1 after I dragged an item to it? I can find the id of the parent list upon page load but I can't seem to be able to pull the new id after sort.
