  • Display Consistent Value of an Item using MVVM and WPF

    - by Blake Blackwell
In my list view control (or any other WPF control that will fit the situation), I would like to have one TextBlock that stays consistent for all items while another TextBlock that changes based on the value in the ObservableCollection. Here is how my code is currently laid out: XAML <ListView ItemsSource="{Binding Path=MyItems, Mode=TwoWay}"> <ListView.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBlock x:Name="StrVal" Text="{Binding StrVal}" /> <TextBlock x:Name="ConstVal" Text="{Binding MyVM.ConstVal}" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListView.ItemTemplate> </ListView> Model public class MyItem { public string StrVal { get; set; } } ViewModel public class MyVM { public MyVM() { ObservableCollection<MyItem> myItems = new ObservableCollection<MyItem>(); for (int i = 0 ; i < 10; i++) myItems.Add(new MyItem { StrVal = i.ToString()}); MyItems = myItems; ConstVal = "1"; } public string ConstVal { get; set; } public ObservableCollection<MyItem> MyItems { get; set; } } Code Behind this.DataContext = new MyVM(); The StrVal property repeats correctly in the ListView, but the ConstVal TextBlock does not show the ConstVal that is contained in the VM. I would guess that this is because the ItemsSource of the ListView is MyItems and I can't reference other variables outside of what is contained in the MyItems. My question is: How do I get ConstVal to show the value in the ViewModel for all listviewitems that will be controlled by the Observable Collection of MyItems.

  • Remove Item From Object SubList (LINQ)

    - by X3074861X
I have an object that looks like this : public class Consortium { public string Id { get; set; } [JsonConverter(typeof(EnumDescriptionConverter))] public SourceType Type { get; set; } public List<UserLibrary> Branches { get; set; } } Each Consortium has a list of UserLibrary's associated with it, and that class looks like this : public class UserLibrary { public string LibraryId { get; set; } public string RetailerId {get; set;} public string UserId { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public DateTime CreatedAt { get; set; } } I have a method which will allow the user to remove a library from one of their consortium (note: There may be many branches associated to the consortium). However, I'm only being supplied a LibraryId, so I'm forced to traverse their list of Consortium, find which one contains the given id, then iterate over the branches and remove the one that matches the id. Here is how I'm currently accomplishing this : // Get the current list of consortiums var user = _mediator.Send(new GetUserProfileCommand { UserProfileId = _principle.UserProfileId }); var userConsortia = user.SavedConsortia; // the consortium to remove the library from var branchToRemove = _libraryService.GetLibrary(id); var consortRemove = new UserConsortium(); foreach (var userConsortium in userConsortia) { if (userConsortium.Branches.FirstOrDefault(c => string.Equals(c.LibraryId, id, StringComparison.OrdinalIgnoreCase)) != null) { consortRemove = userConsortium; } } // if the consortium id is null, something is f* if (consortRemove.Id == null) { return new JsonDotNetResult(HttpStatusCode.BadRequest); } // first remove the consortia userConsortia.Remove(consortRemove); // remove the branch from the consortium consortRemove.Branches.RemoveAll(ul => string.Equals(ul.LibraryId, id, StringComparison.OrdinalIgnoreCase)); // add it back in without the branch userConsortia.Add(consortRemove); Question : Is there a LINQ expression I'm missing here that can help me consolidate this logic, or is there a better way of doing this?

  • How do I iterate through hierarchical data in a Sql Server 2005 stored proc?

    - by AlexChilcott
Hi, I have a SqlServer2005 table "Group" similar to the following: Id (PK, int) Name (varchar(50)) ParentId (int) where ParentId refers to another Id in the Group table. This is used to model hierarchical groups such as: Group 1 (id = 1, parentid = null) +--Group 2 (id = 2, parentid = 1) +--Group 3 (id = 3, parentid = 1) +--Group 4 (id = 4, parentid = 3) Group 5 (id = 5, parentid = null) +--Group 6 (id = 6, parentid = 5) You get the picture I have another table, let's call it "Data" for the sake of simplification, which looks something like: Id (PK, int) Key (varchar) Value (varchar) GroupId (FK, int) Now, I am trying to write a stored proc which can get me the "Data" for a given group. For example, if I query for group 1, it returns me the Key-Value-Pairs from Data where groupId = 1. If I query for group 2, it returns the KVPs for groupId = 1, then unioned with those which have groupId = 2 (and duplicated keys are replaced). Ideally, the sproc would also fail gracefully if there is a cycle (ie if group 1's parent is group 2 and group 2's parent is group 1) Has anyone had experience in writing such a sproc, or know how this might be accomplished? Thanks guys, much appreciated, Alex

  • Gridview item template refresh

<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Quantity" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Left" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Left"> <ItemTemplate> <%#GetQuantityRemaining((int) Eval("Id")) %> </ItemTemplate> <HeaderStyle HorizontalAlign="Left"></HeaderStyle> <ItemStyle HorizontalAlign="Left"></ItemStyle> </asp:TemplateField> Every time the user clicks on some buttons or modifies some fields, I need to update this field, calling the GetQuantityRemaining method again. Is there a way to do that?

  • Conditionally setting the font color of an item in a drop down box in JSF

    - by Greg
I'm a newbie to web programming, so please bear with me. I am using JSF 1.2 and I want to conditionally set the color of the items in my drop down list. In other words, I have a collection of items that, along with a key and a value, also have a boolean property, warning, that is dynamically set by user action. I want the drop down to show all of the items, but those whose warning property is set to true should be displayed in red. I assume I have to extend the SelectItem class to add in the boolean property. How do I then conditionally set the color of the font of those items whose warning property is set to true in my JSP pages? Thanks in advance

  • How to call a set of variables functions based on class on a group of elements

    - by user1547007
    I have the following html code: <i class="small ele class1"></i> <i class="medium ele class1"></i> <i class="large ele class1"></i> <div class="clear"></div> <i class="small ele class2"></i> <i class="medium ele class2"></i> <i class="large ele class2"></i> <div class="clear"></div> <i class="small ele class3"></i> <i class="medium ele class3"></i> <i class="large ele class3"></i> <div class="clear"></div> <i class="small ele class4"></i> <i class="medium ele class4"></i> <i class="large ele class4"></i>? And my javascript looks like so: var resize = function(face, s) { var bb = face.getBBox(); console.log(bb); var w = bb.width; var h = bb.height; var max = w; if (h > max) { max = h; } var scale = s / max; var ox = -bb.x+((max-w)/2); var oy = -bb.y+((max-h)/2); console.log(s+' '+h+' '+bb.y); face.attr({ "transform": "s" + scale + "," + scale + ",0,0" + "t" + ox + "," + oy }); } $('.ele').each(function() { var s = $(this).innerWidth(); var paper = Raphael($(this)[0], s, s); var face = $(this).hasClass("class1") ? class1Generator(paper) : class4Generator(paper); /*switch (true) { case $(this).hasClass('class1'): class1Generator(paper); break; case $(this).hasClass('class2'): class2Generator(paper) break; case $(this).hasClass('class3'): class3Generator(paper) break; case $(this).hasClass('class4'): class4Generator(paper) break; }*/ resize(face, s); }); my question is, how could I make this line of code more scalable? I tried using a switch but The script below is calling two functions if one of the elements has a class, but what If i have 10 classes? I don't think is the best solution I created a jsFiddle http://jsfiddle.net/7uUgz/6/ //var face = $(this).hasClass("awesome") ? awesomeGenerator(paper) : awfulGenerator(paper);

  • Binding ComboBox Item with a text property of different DataContext

    - by Jhelumi786
    Hi Everyone, I have a comboBox as below. What I want is to bind the selectedItem value to a Text property of a datacontext so that another DataTemplate can show the Image. Please note that the Combobox and Target Image elements are on two different DataTemplates so that's why I need to update the Text Property (ImageName) ofDataContext at backend. <ComboBox x:Name="cboOverlay" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" SelectedIndex="0" > <ComboBoxItem Name="BC_OL" IsSelected="True"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Source="Images\BC_OL.jpg" Width="100" Height="25" Canvas.Top="0" Canvas.Left="0" /> <TextBlock Width="100" VerticalAlignment="Center" TextAlignment="Center">Image1</TextBlock> </StackPanel> </ComboBoxItem> <ComboBoxItem Name="Indian_OL"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Source="Images\Indian_OL.jpg" Width="100" Height="25" Canvas.Top="0" Canvas.Left="0" /> <TextBlock Width="100" VerticalAlignment="Center" TextAlignment="Center">Image2</TextBlock> </StackPanel> </ComboBoxItem> </ComboBox> <Image Source="{Binding Path=Image}" Width="81" Height="25" Canvas.Top="0" Canvas.Left="0" />

  • Removing Item from Collection / Changing field of Object

    - by x Nuclear 213
public void searchOwner(List<Appointments> appts, String owner) { Appointments theOne = null; for (Appointments temp : appts) { if (owner.equalsIgnoreCase(temp.owner.name)) { System.out.println(temp.data); temp.setResolved(true); } } } public void checkRemoval() { for (Appointments appts : appointments) { if (appts.resolved == true) { appointments.remove(appts); } //Iterator method used before enhanced for-loop public void checkRemovalI(){ Iterator<Appointments> it = appointments.iterator(); while(it.hasNext()){ if(it.next().resolved = true){ it.remove(); } } } So far this is where I am encountering my problem. I am trying to check the arrayList of Appointments and see if the field (resolved) is set to true, however I am receiving an ConcurrentModification exception during the searchOwner method when trying to set resolved = to true. I've tried using an Iterator in checkRemoval instead of an enhanced for-loop however that didn't help either. I really only need to get the part where the appointment is set to true to work, the checkRemoval seemed to be working early before implementing the changing of the boolean resolved. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

  • jquery - sliding image group left and right (hiding the ones that are past a certain point)

    - by matthewsteiner
So I'm not really sure how to go about doing this at all. I've got an anchor on the left with id="left" and one on the right with id="right". On the hover event, the image thumbnails should start sliding left or right. If there's not enough thumbnails, there should be no sliding. It can only fit 4 images in between the left and right anchors. How can I hide all anchors that are not in between the left and right anchors? I want the images to actually slowly move left or right, not just be sudden. Any ideas? I know how to bind the events and such just fine. I just don't really now how to get started with the image placement.

  • [SQL] Getting the sum of several columns from two tables

    - by romaintaz
I want to get the sum of several columns from 2 different tables (these tables share the same structure). If I only consider one table, I would write this kind of query: SELECT MONTH_REF, SUM(amount1), SUM(amount2) FROM T_FOO WHERE seller = XXX GROUP BY MONTH_REF; However, I would like to also work with the data from the table T_BAR, and then have a select query that return the following columns: MONTH_REF SUM(T_FOO.amount1) + SUM(T_BAR.amount1) SUM(T_FOO.amount2) + SUM(T_BAR.amount2) everything grouped by the value of MONTH_REF. Note that a record for a given MONTH_REF can be found in one table but not in the other table. In this case, I would like to get the sum of T_FOO.amount1 + 0 (or 0 + T_BAR.amount1). How can I write my SQL query to get this information? For information, my database is Oracle 10g.

  • Java jList add item based on combobox selection

    - by Stephan Badert
I have a csv file that is being loaded in my programme. It contains citys and areas and some other stuff (not important here). Once the csv is selected I load the data into several comboboxes. 1 Thing is not working, I have a combobox containing all the citys and now I need to list all the areas for that country based on selection from the combobox. Here is the event: private void cboProvinciesItemStateChanged(java.awt.event.ItemEvent evt) { //System.out.println(Arrays.asList(gemeentesPerProvincie(gemeentes))); invullenListProvincie(gemeentes); } Here is the method: private void invullenListProvincie(ArrayList<Gemeentes> gemeentes) { Gemeentes gf = (Gemeentes) cboProvincies.getSelectedItem(); DefaultListModel model = new DefaultListModel(); JList list = new JList(model); for (Gemeentes gemeente : gemeentesPerProvincie(gemeentes)) { model.addElement(gemeente); } lstGemeentes.setModel(model); } and this is the method to filter all the areas that equal the selection from the combobox: private ArrayList<Gemeentes> gemeentesPerProvincie(ArrayList<Gemeentes> gemeentes) { String GemPerProv = (String) cboProvincies.getSelectedItem(); ArrayList<Gemeentes> selectie = new ArrayList<Gemeentes>(); for (Gemeentes gemeente : gemeentes) { if (gemeente.getsProvincie().equals(GemPerProv)) { selectie.add(gemeente); } } return selectie; } I am convinced the error is the way I am trying to add items to the jList gemeentesPerProvincie(), I have tried so many things already. I really hope someone can see what i am clearly missing...

How can i remove items from the list, in some simple way, without saving indexes of these items in another list or array, and removing them in another place in the code. Tried also RemoveAt(index) but it's exactly the same situation, modifying when loop runs.

  • group member dropdown in visual studio 2008

    - by knittl
in visual studio is the member dropdown, where you can select all members of the current type alphabetically ordered. is there an option which allows grouping of the members? i.e. all constructors before all methods before all properties before all events before all fields? if there is not, bad for me, i guess—it would really enhance productivity

  • C# Set combo item with selectedValue

    - by Martijn
I am dynamically creating a combobox like this: public Control GenerateList(Question question) { // Get a list with answer possibilities List<QuestionAnswer> answers = question.GetAnswers(); // Get a collection of given answers Collection<QuestionnaireAnswer> givenAnswers = question.GetFilledAnswers(); ComboBox cmb = new ComboBox(); cmb.Name = "cmb"; cmb.DataSource = answers; cmb.DisplayMember = "Answer"; cmb.ValueMember = "Id"; // Check an answer is given to the question if (givenAnswers != null && givenAnswers.Count > 0) { cmb.SelectedValue = givenAnswers[0].AnswerId; } cmb.DropDownStyle = ComboBoxStyle.DropDownList; cmb.SelectedIndexChanged += new EventHandler(cmb_SelectedIndexChanged); cmb.Leave += new EventHandler(cmb_Leave); return cmb; } The problem is,when executing cmb.SelectedValue = givenAnswers[0].AnswerId; cmb.SelectedValue is always null. When debugging and I explore answers (the datasource) I see that Id (ValueMember) is exactle the same as AnswerId (in the if statement). Both have the same type (long) and the same value, but SelectedValue stays null. Is there something I don't see?

  • How to serialize each item in IEnumerable for ajax post

    - by bflemi3
I have a PartialView that displays IEnumerable<Movie>. _MoviePartial.cshtml @foreach(var movie in Model) { <div class="content"> <span class="image"><img src="@movie.Posters.Profile" alt="@movie.Title"/></span> <span class="title">@movie.Title</span> <div class="score`"> <span class="critics-score">@movie.Ratings.CriticsScore</span> <span class="audience-score">@movie.Ratings.AudienceScore</span> </div> @Html.ActionLink("Add Movie", "Add", "MyMovies") </div> } When the user clicks the "Add Movie" ActionLink I am going to do an ajax post to add the selected movie to the users collection. My problem is that I would like to send the entire selected Movie class to the "Add" action but not sure how to serialize each movie since the entire Movie class is not rendered in the PartialView, just a few properties. I know I can serialize something like this... <script type="text/javascript"> var obj = @Html.Raw(Json.Encode(movie)); </script> But I'm not sure how that would work inside a foreach loop that renders html, especially inside a PartialView. So, just to be clear, when a user clicks the "Add Movie" ActionLink I would like to send the serialized Movie class for that respective movie to my controller via ajax. My questions is... Is there a better way to serialize each movie and append it to it's respective anchor? I know there's the data- html5 attribute but I thought they only allow string values, not json objects. I also know I could use jQuery's .data() function but I'm struggling to think through how to get that to run from a PartialView, especially since the html rendered by _MoviePartial.cshtml may be returned from a controller via ajax.
