• Drupal Hierarchical Content

  I am currently looking at using either the Taxonomy or CCK module on my Drupal site as a means to create a hierarchical system. However, I'm a little confused on which one would best suit my needs, or if there is something else that would work better. Basically, there will be probably 70 or so "mini-sites" on the website I'm working on, each with a landing page and about 5 sub-pages of detailed information. I need a way to mark those sub-pages as being sub-pages of their parent page, as well as create a menu system to navigate between them. What is the best way this could be done?   After publishing a WPF application to a central location using ClickOnce, I am getting following exception when user tries to access the application. There are other applications, which works fine for them and issue is only when they access a particular application. I can't workout why this hence the exception doesn't seems to be very helpful. • In MVVM are DataTemplates considered Views as UserControls are Views?

  In MVVM, every View has a ViewModel. A View I understand to be a Window, Page or UserControl to which you can attach a ViewModel from which the view gets its data. But a DataTemplate can also render a ViewModel's data. So I understand a DataTemplate to be another "View", but there seem to be differences, e.g. Windows, Pages, and UserControls can define their own .dlls, one type is bound with DataContect the other through attaching a template so that Windows, Pages, UserControls can can be attached to ViewModels dynamically by a ServiceLocator/Container, etc. How else are DataTemplates different than Windows/Pages/UserControls when it comes to rendering a ViewModel's data on the UI? And are there other types of "Views" other than these four?

• java best way to transfer images

  I have a application that reads a PDF, transform the content to collection of TIF files, and send them to Glass Fish Server for saving. Usually there are 1-5 pages and it works nice, but when I got a input file with 100+ pages... it throws error on the transfer. Java heap space at java.util.Arrays.copyOf(Arrays.java:2786) at java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream.write(ByteArrayOutputStream.java:94) Putting more resources is not a good option in my case, so I m looking for a way to optimize it somehow. I store the data in: HashMap<TifProfile, List<byte[]> Is there a better way to store or send them ? EDIT I did some tests and the final collections for PDF with 80 pages has size over 280mb (240 tiffs with different settings inside)

  I was going through the interview questions and found out the below question which I am not able to answer it. Can anyone provide some sort of algorithm for this problem how can I solve it? There are a cluster of stateless servers all serving the same pages. The servers are hosting 5 web pages- p1.html, p2.html, p3.html, p4.html and p5.html p1.html just redirects users to the other 4 pages Requests to p1.html should result in 10% of users being redirected to p2.html, 5% of users redirected to p3.html, 20% of users redirected to p4.html, and 65% of users redirected to p5.html. Users do not need to stick to the page they are first redirected to. They could end up on a different page with every request to p1.html Write a function/pseudocode that would be invoked with every request to p1.html and redirect the correct percentage of users to the correct page. Any suggestions will be of great help.

  I have a table like this I'd like to sort : | Name | Case | | John | X-123/08 P| | Bob | X-123/09 | | Dylan | X-45/10 | I want to sort the Case colum by case's year then case's number knowing that the format is always "X-(1 to 4 digits for case's number)/(case's year on 2 digits) (sometimes some text)". It's possible that after the year's case I have some text but it shoud be ignored for sorting. I am using tablesorter jQuery's plugin and I am struggling to add a custom parser for this. • Tooltip equivalent for touch devices?

  Hey folks, Touch devices are on the rise. More and more website developers try to optimize their pages for those devices. Until recently the most common solution was to build a mobile version for the website. But with tablets this will most likely change to adjusting the original pages to be touch compatible. One big issue I encountered are tooltips. There are some websites and web applications relying heavily on storing important informations in some kind of tooltip triggered by hovering the mouse arrow over some interface element - which does not exist on touch devices. So what do you think is a good universal way to adopt these pages without redesigning the site from scratch? Does this universal way even exist? My first idea was a tiny touchable question mark but this would hardly be big enough for a finger.

  I am trying to implement WordPress into quite a large site with a complex page structure and struggling to get normal pages to work (not created through the admin) The pages are created, but when I link to them, nothing happens... The desired url - www.website.com/dir1/dir2/dir3/page.php The actual url- www.website.com/wp-content/themes/themename/dir1/dir2/dir3/page.php The problem with linking to the latter is that it breaks the WordPress functions I don't want to have to give every page a template, then add it through the admin, it is too much work. I only need 2 pages to contain dynamic content. Am I being silly? I am really confused.

  I'm using NSDate to get a string such as "18 Jun 09", with code: NSDate *theDate = [NSDate date]; NSString *dateString = [theDate descriptionWithCalendarFormat:@"%d %b %y" timeZone:nil locale: nil]; This works, but only results in an English output. I need the output to be localized in the user's default language. Does Cocoa (Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5 in this case) provide a facility for this localization or do I have to manually localize for each case of day and & month names my self? (I have provided a locale, but although that does provide a locale-specific ordering of the date, it does not appear to do any localization of day-month names.)

• Moved X-cart site to Sub Directory - Need Help setting up Redirects

  I recently moved an x-cart site from a root directory to a sub directory, and also built a new Wordpress site under the root directory. The problem I am having is that I am trying to figure out a redorect combo that will show the search engines that the product pages are now under the sub directory (/store) but do not want the search engines to exclude the brand new site under the Root directory. I was thinking that if I could just have redirect any .html file (all of the product pages link to .html pages) that it would redirect to the same page just under the sub directory. The reason I cannot do everything one by one is because there are about 50k+ products that would need be changed. Any information and help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advanced!

• Crystal Reports - Facilitating front/back printing

  I have a crystal report that is designed to spit out a bunch of reports. Each report is 2 to 7 pages in length. We would like to print on the front and back of pages. However, if we did this now... approximately half of the following reports would print on the back of the last past of the preceding report. Is there a good method for detecting whether an extra page break should be inserted, and if so, actually inserting it, so that when we print the 150 pages front/back that now one piece of paper actually holds data from separate reports?   I am making a static site which is 'forced' to be cached via Cache-control, etc. When a user visits my site, I want the browser to crawl my site, caching pages, so when the user navigates to a page, the load is almost instant. (I do not need a recursive crawl, as that will probably happen as the user navigates between pages. I just need to crawl the links on the current page, and of course not re-caching a page which has already been cached.) (Also, I am not changing pages using Ajax-like techniques. These are essentially normal flat HTML files with normal links.) How can I do this pre-caching using Javascript? (I am using jQuery.)

  I'm having Pages with TextBlocks on them. Text Blocks may appear on different pages, pages may have several text blocks on them. Every page may have these blocks in an ordering of it's own. This can be solved by using a separate through parameter.   I have a text file with machine code in this form: B2 0A 05 B2 1A 01 B3 08 00 17 B2 09 18 where an instruction has this format: OP Mode Operand Note: Operand could be 1 or 2 bytes. Where:(example) OP = B2 Mode = 0A Operand = 05 How can I read the bytes in a variable? As shown in the above example. When i read the file I get individual characters. I have an array of pointers where I read individual line, but still cannot solve the problem of reading a byte. Any ideas,suggestions. I hope I am not confusing anyone here. Thank you.

  ok i have another question ! (god! i have so many questions) i have an application and a user must log-in before he/she can access pages. now once the user logs in i keep the user details in a session variable (say Session["CurrentUser"]). now if a user tries to jump to a page directly i will check if the Session["CurrentUser"] has a value or not...if not then the user will be directed to the login page... my problem is that i have done this or rather say written this "Checking Code" on almost all the pages. what i want is this code to stay on a particular location and i will just access that method all the time on all the pages...now where should i write this method ?? thank you.

  Hello all, I am looking to do something really simple. Merely convert a string, such as 'december' into something I can use with MySQL (such as '12'). At the moment I use a dict, month_map = { 'december': '12', 'november': '11', 'october': '10', 'september': '09', 'august': '08', 'july': '07', 'june': '06', 'may': '05', 'april': '04', 'march': '03', 'february': '02', 'january': '01' } and then month_map.get('december'). Does any function already exist within the standard python modules that can achieve this? Apologies if this has already been asked.. the questions I have found using search seem a little different.

• arg function not using URL alias

  I am running Drupal 6, and I'm using PHP for block visibility. <?php $city = arg(0); $page = arg(1); if ($city == 'tampa' && $page != 'art'){ return 'TRUE'; } else{ return FALSE; } ?> I was having trouble with this block of code, so I decided to insert: <?php print arg(0).arg(1); ?> in my page.tpl.php. What I found was that on some of my pages, arg(0) was showing 'node' when the URL is actually 'tampa', and of course, arg(1) is showing the node ID. However, on other pages, such as my calendar, arg(0) is actually showing 'tampa' instead of 'node'. I have used this a lot in the past, and have never had this problem. Is there a reason why Drupal is disregarding my aliases on certain pages? If so, how can I fix it?

  I have a intranet site with Windows Authentication. I have 'Administrator' pages in an 'Administrator' folder that will only show for those in the admin group (windows security group) These pages work I have a folder with sub folders containing reports. These permissions are broken down for each type of report. They have similar role priveleges. When I test the application, I can navigate to the pages. When I deploy the site live on the intranet the links don't return a page. Error missing link 404. Do I need to set something in IIS?

• How do you render a rails partial that is outside of a namespace in a view that is inside of a namespace?

  I've got a 'static' controller and static views that are pages that don't utilize ruby in their views. For these pages, I have a sitemap partial that is generated programatically and used in the application layout file. Namespaced routes still use the application layout file but are taking the static routes and trying to namespace them too. Here's the relevant portion of the route file: namespace :admin do resources :verse_categories resources :verses resources :songs resources :flowers resources :visits, :except => [:new, :create] end match ':action' => 'static' root :to => 'static#home' Here's the error I'm getting: No route matches {:controller=>"admin/static", :action=>"about"} Note that about is one of the static pages that the sitemap partial uses. So, how can I resolve this routing issue so that it's not trying to find my static sites inside of the admin namespace? Any help would be appreciated!

  Based on the following example URL structure: mysite.com/mypage.aspx?a=red&b=green&c=blue Pages in the application use ASP.net user controls and some of these controls build a query string. To prevent duplicate keys being created e.g. &pid=12&pid=10, I am researching methods of rewriting the URL: a) mysite.com/mypage.aspx/red/green/blue b) mysite.com/mypage.aspx?controlname=a,red|b,green|c,blue Pages using this structure would be publishing content that I would like to get indexed and ranked - articles and products (8,000 products to start, with thousands more being added later) My gut instinct tells me to go with the first method, but would it would be overkill to add all that infrastructure if the second method will accomplish my goal of getting pages indexed AND ranked. So my question, looking at the pro's and con's, Google Ranking, time to implement etc. which method should I use? Thanks!
