• Coerce Windows to show a thumbnail for my custom file type.

  Hi, I want to use the windows OpenFileDialog class in C# to browse files for my application. I would then like the files to show up with previews in Windows' "thumbnails" view. Is there a simple way to make this happen? I'm thinking there should be a way to encode the files so that Windows simply reads and displays the thumbnail information, even though it's an unsupported file type? I know Windows Vista has a different interface (IThumbnailProvider as opposed to IExtractImage) than Windows XP, but I need it to work across platforms. Thanks! / Jakob

• Show underlying applications mouse cursor when hovering over visible section of my application.

  I am writing a WPF application that allows the user to draw over the entire screen when the right mouse button is held down. I use a full screen transparent overlay form to achieve this, however, as I draw lines with the mouse, what's happening is that the portion of my window that contains the line is becoming visible (as expected). The undesired effect of this is that if the line is over a part of another application such as a textbox, or hyperlink, this changes the cursor back to the default cursor my my app (arrow), instead of the other applications desired cursor (IBeam). I want my overlay to be seamless to the user, and just show their drawing path, rather than have any interaction with the mouse cursor. See my example below:

  Hi there, I started two days ago with android, gone through the hello android stuff and also started to read the Hello Android book, which is great. PROBLEM: I use in my app - VERY EASY APP- the XML output. So basically the main activity just tells the android to show the XML layout of main. But what if I have in the activity - code defined integer variable and I want this integer variable also be shown on the display? How do I PUSH the integer variable to the XML??? What do I mean: I have a class foo::bar::bee defined in bee.hpp in following directory structure: foo foo/bar foo/bar/bee.hpp Doxygen, when it documents foo::bar::bee class tells that you need to include <bee.hpp>, but for my software I need <foo/bar/bee.hpp> How can I cause Doxygen to do this? Notes: FULL_PATH_NAMES is already set to default YES I do not want to provide include header explicitly for each class, because there too many of them. I want Doxygen to do this automatically.   This is a stupid question that I should be able to answer myself but I can't seem to get it to work. I have a window inside my MainMenu.xib file that I want to show or bring to front. Right now I have it visible at launch and it works but if I close it with orderOut: and do another instance of it, buttons quit working. How can I reopen the same window that the NSApplication launched at the beginning of the app? I've spent 2+ days trying to figure a way to make it work but no luck. I've even tried to split the window out to it's own xib file but when I do that my methods from the appDelegate fail to respond/work. Any help would be much appreciated. I feel stupid for even asking such a simplistic question. lol Thanks.

  I've got an application where some assemblies are copied to C:\Windows\assembly upon deployment under the assumption that this installs them in the GAC. The application seems to work but when I run gacutil.exe on the copied assemblies, it says the Global Assembly Cache contains 0 assemblies. Should all assemblies in c:\Windows\assembly show up in gacutil? If not, why not? How can I verify that the assembly is in fact installed in the GAC? I have always used gacutil.exe in the past to register assemblies so doing a file copy is new to me and I'm trying to understand the ramifications.

I think that the Debug.Assert(...) are fine and I still want them to execute, but I don't want them to block the execution of my application. Ideally, I would only like them to be logged somewhere. • Flex 3 - Send a HTTP Get request from Flash and want Firefox to show Open With Box.

  Hi all, I am a newb developer as far as Flex and Flash is concerned. This is what I'm trying to do: 1) Send a HTTP request to our server (with a custom made URL). The URL basically tells the server to send data in a CSV format. 2) The server sends a 200 OK response, which has Content-Type: application/csv and the payload is pure CSV data. What I wish to do is, when firefox gets this 200 OK response, I want it to show the standard Open with box (the one that shows up when you download some file). I tried doing this with HTTPService. I have a "Export to CSV" button on the flash component. Upon clicking that, the flash component is able to succesfully send the HTTP request. I however don't want Flash component to handle the response, so I don't have the 's "result" tag defined. But nothing happens. Any suggestions on how to do this.

  Hello, I'm calling a WCF service through javascript and right now it's not showing any errors that might occur on the service side to the user. I have the code below and am looking for a better way to inform the user an error has occured, including the call stack and error message if possible. The service itself throws a FaultException if an error has occured. However, I want to catch that error in the javascript call and show it to the user.   Hello! Is it possible to mask away neighbor countries in GoogleMap? In my case I just want to show Sweden on one view. On a second view just Norway, Denmark etc etc... I know it is possible to draw polygon lines and fill them accordingly on to Maps API. Problem is that or the result sets get huge or the lines get very rough etc... Would be nice if GoogleMaps could deliver a country at the time without neighbors. Does anyone know about a good coordinate database with country borders? Best best regards, Niclas
