  • Meassure website

    - by s0mmer
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to install or use any online service to measure your website's performance? I've seen many just checking the download speed of images, external files etc. But is it possible to meassure how long asp/php code takes to execute? I have a site running a bit slowly, and it would be very nice with some app/service guiding where to optimize.

  • Cleansing string / input in Coldfusion 9

    - by Jakub
I have been working with Coldfusion 9 lately (background in PHP primarily) and I am scratching my head trying to figure out how to 'clean/sanitize' input / string that is user submitted. I want to make it HTMLSAFE, eliminate any javascript, or SQL query injection, the usual. I am hoping I've overlooked some kind of function that already comes with CF9. Can someone point me in the proper direction?

  • Using altered RewriteCond to check if file exists in multiple locations

    - by futuraprime
I want to use mod-rewrite to check for a file in two separate locations: at the requested URL, and at the requested URL within the "public" directory. Here's what I have so far: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/public/$0 !-f #this line isn't working RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?$1 [L] It can correctly determine if the file is there, but it's not correctly determining if the file is at /public/supplied/file/path/file.extension. How do I test for that?

  • Ajax problem after deleting a div, then creating a new one

    - by Matt Nathanson
    I'm building a custom CMS where you can add and delete clients using ajax and jquery 1.4.2. My problem lies after I delete a div. The ajax is used to complete this and refresh automatically.. But when I go to create a new div (without a hard refresh) it puts it back in the slot of the div I just deleted. How can I get this to completely forget about the div i just deleted and place the new div in the next database table? link for reference: http://staging.sneakattackmedia.com/cms/ //Add New client // function AddNewClient() { dataToLoad = 'addClient=yes'; $.ajax({ type: 'post', url: '/clients/controller.php', datatype: 'html', data: dataToLoad, target: ('#clientssidebar'), async: false, success: function(html){ $(this).click(function() {reInitialize()}); //$('#clientssidebar').html(html); $('div#' + clientID).slideDown(800); $(this).click(function() { ExpandSidebar()});}, error: function() { alert('An error occured! 222');} });}; //Delete Client // function DeleteClient(){ var yes = confirm("Whoa there chief! Do you really want to DELETE this client?"); if (yes == 1) { dataToLoad = 'clientID=' + clientID + '&deleteClient=yes', $.ajax({ type: 'post', url: '/clients/controller.php', datatype: 'html', data: dataToLoad, success: function(html) { alert('Client' + clientID + ' should have been deleted from the database.'); $(this).click(function() {reInitialize()}); $('div#' +clientID).slideUp(800); }, error: function() { alert('error'); }});};}; //Re Initialize // function reInitialize() { $('#addnew').click(function() {AddNewClient()}); $('.deletebutton').click(function() {clientID = $(this).parent().attr('id'); DeleteClient()}) $('.clientblock').click(function() {clientID = $(this).attr('id'); ExpandSidebar()});}; //Document Ready // $(document).ready(function(){ if ($('isCMS')){ editCMS = 1; $('.deletebutton').click(function() {clientID = $(this).parent().attr('id'); DeleteClient()}); $('#addnew').click(function() {AddNewClient()}); $('.clientblock').click(function() {clientID = $(this).attr('id'); ExpandSidebar()}); $('.clientblock').click(function() {if (clickClient ==true) { $(this).css('background-image', 'url(/images/highlightclient.png)'); $(this).css('margin-left' , '30px'); }; $(this).click(function(){ $(this).css('background-image', ''); }); $('.uploadbutton').click(function(){UploadThings()}); }); } else ($('#clientscontainer')) { $('#editbutton').css('display', 'none'); }; }); Please help!!!

  • What does Silverlight offer?

    - by Maurizio Reginelli
I'm working with C# and WPF and I would like to study something related to web programming. I already know HTML and CSS, and since I'm working with WPF, I am wondering if going into Silverlight is a good choice to start web developing. Can it be a substitute of server-side programming languages, like PHP or ASP .NET? What do you suggest? Thank you very much

  • method to find my UDP socket's "real" port?

    - by yairchu
Is there any free service to which I could send a UDP packet and it would respond telling me what is my "real" UDP port? (my application is behind a NAT) This kind of service could allow me to make a p2p coordination server with normal php hosting. The p2p clients would know their UDP ports from this service They will then contact my server over HTTP (which is what regular web hosting allows) and tell it their port (and ip, which is normally supplied to cgi scripts) My server will give the clients the IP addresses and ports of the other clients.

  • MySQL upload CSV file as new table

    - by Brian
I frequently upload CSV files to a MySQL db. It is very convenient to use LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE to upload the data, but I can't use this to create the table itself. As of now, the best method I have is to use PHP to get the field titles from the first row of the file and then put together a CREATE table query. Is there a more convenient way to do this?

  • Mac text editor for Ruby on Rails

    - by kingjeffrey
My text editor of choice for PHP work is Panic's Coda. But for Ruby on Rails, it's autocomplete feature is continuously in my way and ROR's standardization on 2 space tabs does not play well with Coda's settings. I've been going back to TextMate for ROR work, but was wondering if there were better options.
