  • Node.js + Express.js. How to RENDER less css?

    - by Paden
    Hello all, I am unable to render less css in my express workspace. Here is my current configuration (my css/less files go in 'public/stylo/'): app.configure(function() { app.set('views' , __dirname + '/views' ); app.set('partials' , __dirname + '/views/partials'); app.set('view engine', 'jade' ); app.use(express.bodyDecoder() ); app.use(express.methodOverride()); app.use(express.compiler({ src: __dirname + '/public/stylo', enable: ['less']})); app.use(app.router); app.use(express.staticProvider(__dirname + '/public')); }); Here is my main.jade file: !!! html(lang="en") head title Yea a title link(rel="stylesheet", type="text/css", href="/stylo/main.less") link(rel="stylesheet", href="http://fonts.googleapis.com/cssfamily=Droid+Sans|Droid+Sans+Mono|Ubuntu|Droid+Serif") script(src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.4/jquery.min.js") script(src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.7/jquery-ui.min.js") body!= body here is my main.less css: @import "goodies.css"; body { .googleFont; background-color : #000000; padding : 20px; margin : 0px; > .header { border-bottom : 1px solid #BBB; background-color : #f0f0f0; margin : -25px -25px 30px -25px; /* important */ color : #333; padding : 15px; font-size : 18pt; } } AND here is my goodies.less css: .rounded_corners(@radius: 10px) { -moz-border-radius : @radius; -webkit-border-radius: @radius; border-radius : @radius; } .shadows(@rad1: 0px, @rad2: 1px, @rad3: 3px, @color: #999) { -webkit-box-shadow : @rad1 @rad2 @rad3 @color; -moz-box-shadow : @rad1 @rad2 @rad3 @color; box-shadow : @rad1 @rad2 @rad3 @color; } .gradient (@type: linear, @pos1: left top, @pos2: left bottom, @color1: #f5f5f5, @color2: #ececec) { background-image : -webkit-gradient(@type, @pos1, @pos2, from(@color1), to(@color2)); background-image : -moz-linear-gradient(@color1, @color2); } .googleFont { font-family : 'Droid Serif'; } Cool deal. Now: I have installed less via npm and I had heard from another post that @imports should reference the .css not the .less. In any case, I have tried the combinations of switching .less for .css in the jade and less files with no success. If you can help or have the solution I'd greatly appreciate it. Note: The jade portion works fine if I enter any ol' .css. Note2: The less compiles if I use lessc via command line.

  • Is it really necessary to have a competely validated Mark Up and css for SEO purposes

    - by Hitesh Manchanda
    Hi , While validating my CSS on http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ I am getting following errors: 1.Property zoom doesn't exist : 1 1. 2.Property -webkit-transition doesn't exist : all 200ms ease-in all 200ms ease-in 3.Property opacity doesn't exist in CSS level 2.1 4.Property -moz-border-radius doesn't exist 5.Property -webkit-border-radius doesn't exist Is it really required to validate the MarkUp and CSS completely for SEO or these errors which mostly are browser specific can be ignored for now. • css - get rid of spaces between spans

    - by opensas
    I'm trying to emulate a tab bar with html I'd like the width of each tab to be set according to the text lenght (that is, no fixed width) and to word wrap in case it exceeds the screen width I've almost achieved it <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> #myTabs .tab { float: left; } #myTabs .tab_middle { margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none; background-image:url('images/tabs/tab_middle.png'); } #myTabs .tab_left { margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none; background-image:url('images/tabs/tab_left.png'); } #myTabs .tab_right { margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none; background-image:url('images/tabs/tab_right.png'); } </style> </head> <body> <div id="myTabs"> <div class='tab'> <span class='tab_left'>&nbsp;</span> <span class='tab_middle'>very very looong</span> <span class='tab_right'>&nbsp;</span> </div> <div class='tab'> <span class='tab_left'>&nbsp;</span> <span class='tab_middle'>another loooong tab</span> <span class='tab_right'>&nbsp;</span> </div> <div style='clear:both'></div> </div> </body> </html> but, there's a very annoying space between the opening tab image and the closing one... as you can see I've tried with padding, spacin, and border, with no luck... any idea? thanks a lot saludos sas -- edit I tried replacing the spans with a small table (one row, three TDs) but it's the same, only the space between is smaller...

  • How to let short content pages reach the bottom of the browser window and then a footer should appea

    - by UXdesigner
    In this case, I've developed a CSS code for this web application ..and sometimes the resulting data is too small and the footer of the site appears in the middle of the page and looks odd. I'd like to push that whitespace of the background to the browser's bottom and then followed by a footer. AND if the page is long, that text won't get overlapped by the footer. Can someone help me out with this code right here? I've been trying to use some of the codes I found on this page:http://matthewjamestaylor.com/blog/keeping-footers-at-the-bottom-of-the-page which talks about pretty much the same issue, but I can't get it completely done: What am I doing wrong ? @charset "utf-8"; body { margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: center; height:100%; position: relative; height:100%; /* needed for container min-height */ } .spacer { clear: both; height: 0; margin: 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.1em; } .spacer_left { clear: left; margin: 0 0 10px 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.1em; } hr { height: 1px; margin: 20px 0 20px 0; border: 0; color: #ccc; background: #ccc; } #container { position:relative; /* needed for footer positioning*/ height:auto !important; /* real browsers */ height:100%; /* IE6: treaded as min-height*/ min-height:100%; /* real browsers */ width: 1160px; /* width of the site ! */ margin: 0 auto; padding: 0; border: 1px solid #333; text-align: left; } /* Context Bar */ h1#contexto { background:url('../images/menubarbg2.png'); width:1160px; height:30px; position:relative; margin-top:10px; visibility: inherit; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; } #header { margin: 0; padding: 5px; height:70px; } h1#titulo { margin: 0; padding: 0 0 0; } #content { margin: -15px 20px 0 20px; /*padding: -6px 5px 20px 5px;*/ padding:1em 1em 5em; /* bottom padding for footer */ } div#content.columns { margin-left: 100px; } #content abbr, #content acronym { cursor: help; border-bottom: 1px dotted; } #content ul { list-style-type: square; } #content ul li, #content ol li { margin: 0 0 0.4em 0; padding: 0; } #content blockquote { width: 75%; margin: 0 auto; padding: 20px; } #footer { margin: 0; height: -30px; padding: 5px; clear: both; bottom:0; position:relative; } UPDATE: THE SOLUTION @charset "utf-8"; body, html { margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: center; position: relative; height:100%; /* needed for footer positioning*/ } .spacer { clear: both; height: 0; margin: 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.1em; } .spacer_left { clear: left; margin: 0 0 10px 0; padding: 0; font-size: 0.1em; } hr { height: 1px; margin: 20px 0 20px 0; border: 0; color: #ccc; background: #ccc; } #container { position:relative; /* needed for footer positioning*/ min-height: 100%;/* needed for footer positioning*/ height: auto !important;/* needed for footer positioning*/ height: 100%;/* needed for footer positioning*/ margin: 0 auto -30px;/* needed for footer positioning*/ width: 1160px; padding: 0; border: 1px solid #333; text-align: left; } #header { margin: 0; padding: 5px; height:70px; } h1#titulo { margin: 0; padding: 0 0 0; } h1#contexto { background:url('../images/menubarbg2.png'); width:1160px; height:30px; position:relative; margin-top:10px; visibility: inherit; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; } #content { margin: -15px 20px 30px 20px; /* needed for footer positioning*/ } div#content.columns { margin-left: 100px; } #content abbr, #content acronym { cursor: help; border-bottom: 1px dotted; } #content ul { list-style-type: square; } #content ul li, #content ol li { margin: 0 0 0.4em 0; padding: 0; } #content blockquote { width: 75%; margin: 0 auto; padding: 20px; } #footer, .push /* needed for footer positioning*/ { padding: 5px; clear: both; position:absolute;/* needed for footer positioning*/ bottom:0;/* needed for footer positioning*/ height: -30px;/* needed for footer positioning*/ width:1150px; }

  • WPF treeview with rounded corners

    - by BrettRobi
    I have a treeview in a UI full of rounded corners, so I'd like the treeview to match. Is it possible in xaml to change the border of a treeview to have rounded corners? I've thought about hiding the border and putting the treeview inside a rounded rectangle, but this loses real-estate and seems in-elegant. Any ideas?

  • How to use imported css styles in GWT correctly

    - by Eduard Wirch
    Imagine you created the following simple widget with UiBinder: <!DOCTYPE ui:UiBinder SYSTEM "http://dl.google.com/gwt/DTD/xhtml.ent"> <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui="urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder" xmlns:g="urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui"> <ui:style type="my.package.Widget1.Widget1Style"> .childWidgetStyle { border-width: 1px; border-style: dotted; } </ui:style> <g:TextArea styleName="{style.childWidgetStyle}"/> </ui:UiBinder> package my.package; // some imports here public class Widget1 extends Composite { private static Widget1UiBinder uiBinder = GWT.create(Widget1UiBinder.class); interface Widget1UiBinder extends UiBinder<Widget, Widget1> { } public interface Widget1Style extends CssResource { String childWidgetStyle(); } @UiField TextArea textArea; public Widget1(String text) { initWidget(uiBinder.createAndBindUi(this)); textArea.setText(text); } } Than you use this simple widget in another (parent) widget you created: <!DOCTYPE ui:UiBinder SYSTEM "http://dl.google.com/gwt/DTD/xhtml.ent"> <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui="urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder" xmlns:g="urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui"> <ui:style> .parentWidgetStyle .childWidgetStyle { margin-bottom: 10px; } </ui:style> <g:VerticalPanel ui:field="listPanel" addStyleNames="{style.parentWidgetStyle}" /> </ui:UiBinder> package my.package; // imports go here public class ParentWidget extends Composite { private static ParentWidgetUiBinder uiBinder = GWT.create(ParentWidgetUiBinder.class); interface ParentWidgetUiBinder extends UiBinder<Widget, ParentWidget> { } @UiField VerticalPanel listPanel; public ParentWidget(final String... texts) { initWidget(uiBinder.createAndBindUi(this)); for (final String text : texts) { final Widget1 entry = new Widget1(text); listPanel.add(entry); } } } What you want to achieve is to get some margin between the Widget1 entries in the list using css. But this won't work. Because GWT will obfuscate the css names. And the obfuscated name for .childWidgetStyle in ParentWidget will be different from the .childWidgetStyle in Widget1. The resulting css will look similar to this: .G1unc9fbE { border-style:dotted; border-width:1px; } .G1unc9fbBB .G1unc9fDa { margin-bottom:10px; } So the margin setting wont apply. How do I do this correctly?

  • IE-only Styling for jQuery qTip

    - by Kevin C.
    I'm using jquery.qTip on http://comps.gunnjerkens.com/phws/services/ Looks beautiful with the drop shadow and rounded borders in modern browsers...unfortunately the drop shadow is lost on IE. So I want to specify an IE-only rule that makes the border a different color than white. Here's how I currently have it setup: $(this).qtip({ content: the_content, position: { corner: { target: 'bottomLeft', tooltip: 'topLeft' }, adjust: { screen: true } }, style: { border: { radius: 4, color: '#FFFFFF' }, color: '#7D9240' } }); // qtip() }); I appreciate any help!

  • Is it possible to use AnimateWindow with AW_BLEND when using a layered window?

    - by wkf
    I am displaying a window using UpdateLayeredWindow and would like to add transition animations. AnimateWindow works if I use the slide or roll effects (though there is some flickering). However, when I try to use AW_BLEND to produce a fade effect, I not only lose any translucency after the animation (per-pixel and on the entire image), but a default window border also appears. Is there a way to prevent the border from appearing?

    I'm trying to generate a dynamic table using CSS: <html> <head> <style> div.el1, div.el2 { color:white; width:70px;height:70px; border:0px; padding:0px; font-size: 10px; font-family: "Courier"; } div.el1 { background-color: green; } div.el2 { background-color: orange; } div.tablediv { display: table; border:0px; border-spacing:0px; border-collapse:separate; } div.celldiv { display: table-cell; } div.rowdiv { display: table-row; width:auto; } </style> </head> <body> <div class="tablediv"> <div class="rowdiv"> <div class="celldiv"> <div class="el1" id="x1y1">ABC</div> </div> <div class="celldiv"> <div class="el2" id="x1y2"></div> </div> </div> <div class="rowdiv"> <div class="celldiv"> <div class="el1" id="x2y1"></div> </div> <div class="celldiv"> <div class="el1" id="x2y2"></div> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html> The content of body is dynamically generated and should be displayed as a table. Unfortunately, each cell shifts down if it contains data: expected reality --- --- --- --- | | | | | | --- --- |ABC|--- | | | | | | --- --- --- --- | | | --- --- I'm grateful for any help. Many thanks!
