  • Between a jsf page and a managed bean, why the getter method is called twice

    Hi, I have a jsf page with a form has an outputtext in it. The value of outputtext component is called from a backing bean (or managed bean). I know when I code it as #{MyBean.myString} Jsf rename it and calls getMyString() method. However the wierd thing is, when I put a breakpoint to the getter method of this component, I see it is called twice during the page is being rendered. The outputtext is in a h:form, and it is the only component wich is bind to a backingbean. I mean, it is so wierd that jsf should get the value when it first come to the getter method, however it needs to go to the getter method twice. Can you explain what is the reason of this behaviour in jsf? Any help would be appreciated, Best wishes, Baris

    I'm working on a php web api that was handed to me with a lot of code that needs to be refactored. The ones that wrote the code wanted to include a static configuration class to an api resource and then get an instance of that class something like this: <?php $obj = "User"; $confObjectSuffix = "_conf"; $confObject = $obj.$confObjectSuffix; if ($confObject::inst()->checkMethod($method)) { ..... This gives the error "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in ....." since $confObject is a string and not a object. I wrote some testcode: <?php $class = "User_conf"; echo "<pre>"; print_r($$class::Inst()); echo "</pre>"; class User_conf { private static $INSTANCE = null; public static function Inst() { if(User_conf::$INSTANCE === null) { User_conf::$INSTANCE = new User_conf(); } return User_conf::$INSTANCE; } } But can't get it to work with $$ either, is there some other way around this? I don't want to rewrite more than necessary.

    hello. I'm working on program which dynamically(in runtime) loads dlls. For an example: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.dll. In this dll we have this enum: namespace Microsoft.AnalysisServices { [Flags] public enum UpdateOptions { Default = 0, ExpandFull = 1, AlterDependents = 2, } } and we also have this class Cube: namespace Microsoft.AnalysisServices { public sealed class Cube : ... { public Cube(string name); public Cube(string name, string id); .. .. .. } } I dynamically load this dll and create object Cube. Than i call a method Cube.Update(). This method deploy Cube to SQL Analysis server. But if i want to call this method with parameters Cube.Update(UpdateOptions.ExpandFull) i get error, because method doesn't get appropriate parameter. I have already tried this, but doesn't work: dynamic updateOptions = AssemblyLoader.LoadStaticAssembly("Microsoft.AnalysisServices", "Microsoft.AnalysisServices.UpdateOptions");//my class for loading assembly Array s = Enum.GetNames(updateOptions); dynamic myEnumValue = s.GetValue(1);//1 = ExpandFull dynamicCube.Update(myEnumValue);// == Cube.Update(UpdateOptions.ExpandFull) I know that error is in parameter myEnumValue but i don't know how to get dynamically enum type from assembly and pass it to the method.     I have create a class from a string, check it is valid and then check if it responds to a particular method. If it does then I call the method. It all works fine, except I get an annoying compiler warning: "warning: no '-setCurrentID:' method found". Am I doing something wrong here? Is there anyway to tell the compiler all is ok and stop it reporting a warning?   • Calling an Excel Add-In method from C# application or vice versa

    I have an Excel VBA add-in with a public method in a bas file. This method currently creates a VB6 COM object, which exists in a running VB6 exe/vbp. The VB6 app loads in data and then the Excel add-in method can call methods on the VB6 COM object to load the data into an existing Excel xls. This is all currently working. We have since converted our VB6 app to C#. My question is: What is the best/easiest way to mimic this behavior with the C#/.NET app? I'm thinking I may not be able to pull the data from the .NET app into Excel from the add-in method since the .Net app needs to be running with data loaded (so no using a stand-alone C# class library). Maybe we can, instead, push the data from .NET to Excel by accessing the VBA add-in method from the C# code? I was looking at Javassist, and there you can create a new class, and add fields to it, but I haven't found a way to annotate those fields.

    Currently, I have a jQuery Cycle plugin that allows the image to scroll. With it's callback I am calling this function function onAfterVideoScroll() { $('.myRemote.active').removeClass("active").next().addClass("active"); } This SHOULD be removing the current class from another set of links, and adding the class to the it's next sibling. This is to keep whichever image is showing it's button predecessor will be active so the user can tell which button is currently showing on the slideshow. If this makes sense, please let me know why it will remove the active class but it never gives the sibling the active class. Thanks!

  • FLEX: the custom component is still a Null Object when I invoke its method

    Hi, I've created a custom component in Flex, and I've created it from the main application with actionscript. Successively I invoke its "setName" method to pass a String. I get the following run-time error (occurring only if I use the setName method): TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. I guess I get it because I'm calling to newUser.setName method from main application before the component is completely created. How can I ask actionscript to "wait" until when the component is created to call the method ? Should I create an event listener in the main application waiting for it ? I would prefer to avoid it if possible.     I need to write a tool that lists the classes that call methods of specified interfaces. It will be used as part of the build process of a large java application consisting of many modules. The goal is to automatically document the dependencies between certain java modules. I found several tools for dependency analysis, but they don't work on the method level, just for packages or jars. Finally I found ASM, that seems to do what I need. (Ie., it will always select executeAction(PersonVO person) ). What's the most appropriate way to select the correct method? The internet tells me that using instanceof gets me slapped. However, I don't see the appropraite way to select the method without explictly casting abstractPerson to one of the other concrete types. Thanks Marty

    this one in my routes works perfectly: map.connect ':permalink', :controller = 'pages', :action = 'show' for this class: class PagesController < BackendController and on /xxx/pages it is shown like this: <%= link_to "#{item.link_name}", {:controller = :pages, :action = :show, :permalink = item.permalink} % which will generate a link like "how-to-create-permalinks". but i decided to move the PagesController into a subdirectory so the class is now written like so: class Backend::PagesController < BackendController But how does the route look like now? And how do i display it on the template so it links using the permalink? Thanks!
