  • Static libraries in version-cross-compiled program

    I have a unix command line app (with big nasty makefile) that I'm trying to run on a mac. I am compiling it on a 10.6 system, with all of the appropriate libraries of course. The deployment environment is a 10.5 system, with no extra libraries. I compiled without -dynamic, and it appears to have static libraries, correctly. When I run it on the 10.6 system, it works. However, when I run it on the 10.5 system, I get: dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 I got this same error when I compiled things for the 10.6 system using the 10.5 xcode, so it looks like a version mis-match type problem. However, I used gcc-4.0, and $CFLAGS = -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.5 so it SHOULD be set up for 10.5... any ideas? thanks Editing an ancient question: I have the exact same problem on a different computer. This time I am at 10.5.8, fully update, the same executable works on 10.6 still. Has anyone had any luck with this in the months since I asked this?

    When using a State server for session, are sessions still appDomain specific? So for example, I have two different IIS applications(virtual directories) on a web server, and they both point to one state server for session. The session guid from the cookie will be the same across requests from both applications, so will the same session be accessible across both of these applications? Thanks.

    is there a way to run gwt on a proxy loaded web page ? ex) using proxy script on myexamplesite.com that loads finance.google.com, and running GWT on the newly loaded page. I've been doing the above before I found about GWT, using LAMP stack + Jquery (UI), which quickly turned out to be crap and inefficient. All this trouble to bypass browser's default Single Origin Policy. So, right now, is it possible to overcome this problem with GWT ? Is it possible to some how, run javascript on a html page from finance.google.com loaded into myexamplesite.com's frame with GWT or other solution? I am not looking to do JSON or RSS related topics. What I need is high lighted in bold. Is GWT + Gears what I should be using ? Thank you.

    so i have a class ClassA that contains an enum MyEnum, and a class ClassB that references that class (different Projects) and so in ClassB i have a using ClassA; clause and i can access that enum using something like MyEnum value = MyEnum.EnumValue; Now on a third project i have my Windows form and it has a clause like using ClassB; Now what can i add in ClassB to acess that enum on my windows Form? Is it even Possible? i would like to avoid having to add ClassA to my form just to access an enum. The idea is that ClassB is sort of a manager between my form and the functionality in ClassA - but i would like to get access to that enum as it makes a lot of tasks easier

  • Set up an Email server on intranet without domain

    I work in a small office with about 35 people and we are all on a intranet. This network is not connected to the internet. Is it possible to set up an email server, with which we could send emails to each other? (We don't need to send emails outside our network.) I cannot use a messenger service like Openfire, since the messages could be asynchronous, and we'd like to get those emails in a email client like Thunderbird. Another obstacle we have is that we do not have a domain name. Any ideas on which free (as in beer) software could be used? We have both Windows and Linux machines.

    I previous had both Web and Mail on the same server and for each of my vhosts/domains, I could visit example.com/mail or foo.com/mail which would display the Roundcube Webmail across all vhosts. E.g Alias /mail "/usr/share/apache2/roundcub/" Although now I have moved the Mail server onto a completely different server and now have a SSL for the main domain. https://mail.example.com which is now the new location of Roundcube for all vhosts/domains. Question: is it possible to redirect all alias for "/mail" from the Web server to the new URL?

  • Best cross-language analyzer to use with lucene index

    Hello, I'm looking for feedback on which analyzer to use with an index that has documents from multiple languages. Currently I am using the simpleanalyzer, as it seems to handle the broadest amount of languages. Most of the documents to be indexed will be english, but there will be the occasional double-byte language indexed as well. Are there any other suggestions or should I just stick with the simpleanalyzer. Thanks

  • Possible causes for Domain server being unavailable?

    One of our servers was compromised after a user with administrative privileges accidentally loaded a virus from a USB drive on a desktop connected to the domain. The two most obvious symptoms of this were: The server is no longer responding to login attempts The root directory of the drive containing user data has been filled with randomly named empty folders. (Initially it was around a million folders, I've been slowly deleting them.) I've run several virus scans from different vendors and am fairly confident the virus has been removed but the damage is done. I'm hoping the two symptoms are related and that once the directories are gone the server will start responding again. The drive is very slow to respond. I'm deleting about 20k folders at a time. Anymore than that and windows explorer becomes unresponsive. In the event that I finish cleaning up the HD and things don't return to normal what other things can I check?

  • Laptop held hostage by administrator domain and Bit locker

    I have a laptop computer that I had when I was working at an IT company. I don´t work there anymore but I could keep the computer (Lenovo) Suddenly my wireless internet didn´t work anymore showing error "insert SIM into the mobile broadband device" and month later connectiong to internet with cable got disabled I don´t know the password to sign in as an administrator on domain and whatever I try to do/install/change settings... everything needs admin rights. To surf the internet again with the computer I tried to install a new Windows but it´s seems to be protected with Bit Locker, asking for recovery key. I´ve googled and googled bunch of CMD tricks but most of the shows "system error 5 has occured" Is there anyway to get the wireless internet to work, change the admin or install new Windows? - or should I rather enjoying throwing it of the balcony or set it one fire? :)

When I run that binary in 64 bit intel machine , the following error is displayed "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.".. In the event log it is mentioned that "Activation context generation failed for . Dependent Assembly icrosoft.VC80.DebugCRT,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis. What is this issue and how to resolve this problem ?and architecture of the target system is amd64.     Currently, for things like background images, our css files have no domain specified. This works both in our development and production environments. background-image: url(/images/bg.png); For performance reasons (cookie-less domain), we'd like to switch this: background-image: url(http://staticimagedomain.com/images/bg.png); Ideally, we don't hard code those, so our development environments can still pull locally. Any thoughts on how to best achieve this?

    .com is the most preferable TLD most of the time, so many people choosing domain names have to pick between desiredname.something_else or totallydifferent.com. From wikipedia: The biz TLD was created to relieve some of the demand for domain names in the com top-level domain, and to provide an alternative for businesses whose preferred domain name in com had already been registered by another party. .org at least implies an organization, whereas .com is the most generic 'commercial'. But .biz seems like a total duplicate that doesn't seem in widespread use <pun>and deserves to be closed. </pun>. Does .biz have any advantages over .com? Are .biz domains worth registering if .com is already taken?

    I have the domain example.com registered with company A I have the hosting with company B (ServerGrove) Company A offers me simple parking, and company B offers me mailbox service. What I would like is to use the hosting company mail service. How do I configure the DNS records in company A to be forwarded to company B mailbox? I think I have to add a MX record to company A's configuration, and then the same in company B's DNS records, is this correct?     Hi, I ran into this problem and could not solve it, so I have a swf file that loads assets from another swf file, everything's fine, until I put them on the server, they are under the same domain, relative path doesnt work nor does absolute path.     I have a site at say: foo.com and I would like the subdomain blog.foo.com to point to fooblog.com blog.foo.com - fooblog.com However, our DNS provider says that if we do an alias such as that, since the provider at fooblog.com does not recognize the name blog.foo.com. We asked if we could just point blog.foo.com at the IP address of fooblog.com and they say the same problem will occur. Any advice? Due to our configuration we can't really put the blog on foo.com. We are willing to move our hosting and even our domain name hosting if necessary. -- Yes, I am a n00b when it comes to DNS.

  • Small line-height cross-browser difference

    So basicly my problem is that the line-heights in Firefox are a little bittle "larger" than in other browsers even though they're all fixed line-heights. For example, you have a block element which has a height from 100px and the line-height is set to 102px. Now, in Firefox the vertical alignment of text is perfect. But in the latest Chrome and Safari 4, the text stands 2px or so higher. Isn't there any way to fix this? Thanks.
