    My company is reevaluating what kind of web framework we want to use. We are currently using the Ext 4.0 framework but there are questions being raised that it may not be the right framework to use. I like what Ext has to offer (rich GUIs, data package and class system) are there other frameworks out there that are similar? Are there frameworks out there tailored to medium/large software companies? Info: Potentially 100's of developers converting thick client screens to the web. Data modeling is important and well as rich GUI support. Maintainability and uniformity across multiple products important as well. Any info is greatly appreciated.

    Our client asked to implement a system with web technologies and the basic functionalities of: We have 3 users: Admin, User, Visitor. provide videos with an indexing system. Videos and other info about them are uploaded from an admin panel. Users can make playlists, add extra info to videos etc. Visitors watch playlists, videos, track their progress etc. This are some of the very basic functionalities of the system, just to get an idea. So we agreed it's a saas project and we started with php,symphony,jquery,requireJS etc. Now our client says that he wants the user and visitor part has to be accessible offline only. He says the user can download the videos and software, and continue offline. What are your suggestions on this? Provide the ability for the user to download a local server, or another way?

  • How can I make zaz save its profile data?

    I've been playing Zaz recently as a time waster and stress beater, but it seems not to be actively maintained, and is not saving profile data under Ubuntu 12.10. It's getting to be more stressful than fun, because it keeps crashing, and under Unity, Gnome Shell, KDE (in other words, any opengl enabled WM) it makes the GPU lockup. How can I make it save the profile data or create a profile that I can manually place my level info in? I'm tired of playing the same levels over and over and not being able to start from the ones I've already passed. I am still yet to find any info on fixing this. Any clues?

  • Ubuntu 12.04 intermittently fails to wake up from sleep

    When I put my Ubuntu 12.04 machine into sleep, sometimes on waking up, it fails, logs me out, and takes me back to login screen. When I log back in, it tells me some unexpected error happened, but it fails to let me report the bug. This has started to happen recently, but I don't know what triggered it. uname -a Linux [name] 3.2.0-30-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 24 16:52:48 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux The issue seems similar to Xorg intermittently restarts after suspend. But in my case I am not sure if it is a Xorg issue. I looked at xorg logs, but didn't notice anything indicating an error. I know I am not providing a lot of info, but I am not sure where (e.g. which log files) I should seek for more info.

    I'm writing a charm that requires a mysql database, I found from looking at other charms that this (below) is how I get the info about the database: user=`relation-get user` password=`relation-get password` mysqlhost=`relation-get private-address` But I just found that from reading the wordpress charm example, is there a way to show all the relation variables that I can use? Also, while debugging my db-relation-changed script, I wanted to ssh into my host and interactively run those commands, for example relation-get user, but it didn't work. I resorted to having to restart everything and use juju log to print them out. This wasted a lot of time. Is there a way to print out these relations, either from my dev box or from the instance running my charm?     I made a partition on my desktop pc, 100 GB and installed Ubuntu 12.10 on it. It was pretty slow first thought it had to install updates or something, so I rebooted it. Now after the login it looks like everything freezes, I can move my mouse only, but that's it! I can see my desktop and launcher, but the task bar doesn't display time and misc system info, only a black bar, I downloaded the Android SDK pack and installed vlc media player before I rebooted. My computer info: 1 TB HDD 8 GB ddr3 RAM ATI Radeon 4890 videocard (1 GB) AMD Phenom 2 x4 black 3, 2ghz CPU (64 bits)

    A client owns example1.com but wants to also purchase example2.com and have it point to their original site at example1.com. No problem there. But they also want any emails going to example2.com to be forwarded to their counter parts at example1.com Eg: if someone emails [email protected] it will be forwarded to [email protected] They only way I can think of doing this at the moment is to set up host for example2.com and then set up mail forwarders in cpanel. But this seems a bit excessive and costly. Does anyone know another, cheaper way of doing this?

    Hi guys i am stuck with filling up the data of all the blocks which are empty like the ones in the image. As you can see there i have a pacman like object where i will be moving around. But when you are in the empty space where there are no Blue boxes available i should be able to add new blocks in the path of my pacman and when it touches any other blue boxes like in the below case if my pacman touches the top row of the blue box i should be able to fill all the empty boxed inside the border of the path created by pacman. For now i am using a 2d bool array to store all the filled boxed info like if there is a box inside i am making that cell in an array as true. But how to fill the area with blue boxes after player finishes his path ? Any help would be great thank you.
