  • Why do custom styled Google Maps (v3) not support marker animation (pin drop)?

    - by Plum Pie
For example, I cannot combine the concepts of this simple example: link text with the concepts of this example: link text, which uses the styled V3 api. In Chrome I get an error saying that: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'DROP' of undefined And it refers to this line of code: animation: google.maps.Animation.DROP, When I replace the javascript link reference to use the version of the API from the first example, the error goes away, but I lose the custom styling. I have not tried this in Firefox or IE. EDIT: Link to example: link text

  • Is Google’s CDN for jQuery available in China?

    - by deanpeters
Does anyone know if Google's CDN for jQuery is available in China? http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxlibs/ I might have a project where I'll need to support localization a variety of countries, including mainland China, and want to know if I'll need to find alternatives such as: http://www.asp.net/ajax/CDN/ Which is okay, but my understanding is that the Microsoft CDN doesn't support jQuery UI. I've checked over at the following Google report page, but can't really figure out if 'sites' includes their CDN delivery: http://www.google.com/prc/report.html

  • How to embed a google map with a changeable area?

    - by Tom
I haven't worded this very well But basically, I'd like to embed a map on my site - but the area it shows will change. I've tried doing this, but it never seems to work as it will focus on the wrong area - the old area, rather than the new area. Basically, I'd like a google map code that uses $place as a location. Thanks.

  • How to create managed properties at site collection level in SharePoint2013

    - by ybbest
    In SharePoint2013, you can create managed properties at site collection. Today, I’d like to show you how to do so through PowerShell. 1. Define your managed properties and crawled properties and managed property Type in an external csv file. PowerShell script will read this file and create the managed and the mapping. 2. As you can see I also defined variant Type, this is because you need the variant type to create the crawled property. In order to have the crawled properties, you need to do a full crawl and also make sure you have data populated for your custom column. However, if you do not want to a full crawl to create those crawled properties, you can create them yourself by using the PowerShell; however you need to make sure the crawled properties you created have the same name if created by a full crawl. Managed properties type: Text = 1 Integer = 2 Decimal = 3 DateTime = 4 YesNo = 5 Binary = 6 Variant Type: Text = 31 Integer = 20 Decimal = 5 DateTime = 64 YesNo = 11 3. You can use the following script to create your managed properties at site collection level, the differences for creating managed property at site collection level is to pass in the site collection id. param( [string] $siteUrl="http://SP2013/", [string] $searchAppName = "Search Service Application", $ManagedPropertiesList=(IMPORT-CSV ".\ManagedProperties.csv") ) Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue $searchapp = $null function AppendLog { param ([string] $msg, [string] $msgColor) $currentDateTime = Get-Date $msg = $msg + " --- " + $currentDateTime if (!($logOnly -eq $True)) { # write to console Write-Host -f $msgColor $msg } # write to log file Add-Content $logFilePath $msg } $scriptPath = Split-Path $myInvocation.MyCommand.Path $logFilePath = $scriptPath + "\CreateManagedProperties_Log.txt" function CreateRefiner {param ([string] $crawledName, [string] $managedPropertyName, [Int32] $variantType, [Int32] $managedPropertyType,[System.GUID] $siteID) $cat = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataCategory –Identity SharePoint -SearchApplication $searchapp $crawledproperty = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataCrawledProperty -Name $crawledName -SearchApplication $searchapp -SiteCollection $siteID if($crawledproperty -eq $null) { Write-Host AppendLog "Creating Crawled Property for $managedPropertyName" Yellow $crawledproperty = New-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataCrawledProperty -SearchApplication $searchapp -VariantType $variantType -SiteCollection $siteID -Category $cat -PropSet "00130329-0000-0130-c000-000000131346" -Name $crawledName -IsNameEnum $false } $managedproperty = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataManagedProperty -Identity $managedPropertyName -SearchApplication $searchapp -SiteCollection $siteID -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue if($managedproperty -eq $null) { Write-Host AppendLog "Creating Managed Property for $managedPropertyName" Yellow $managedproperty = New-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataManagedProperty -Name $managedPropertyName -Type $managedPropertyType -SiteCollection $siteID -SearchApplication $searchapp -Queryable:$true -Retrievable:$true -FullTextQueriable:$true -RemoveDuplicates:$false -RespectPriority:$true -IncludeInMd5:$true } $mappedProperty = $crawledproperty.GetMappedManagedProperties() | ?{$_.Name -eq $managedProperty.Name } if($mappedProperty -eq $null) { Write-Host AppendLog "Creating Crawled -> Managed Property mapping for $managedPropertyName" Yellow New-SPEnterpriseSearchMetadataMapping -CrawledProperty $crawledproperty -ManagedProperty $managedproperty -SearchApplication $searchapp -SiteCollection $siteID } $mappedProperty = $crawledproperty.GetMappedManagedProperties() | ?{$_.Name -eq $managedProperty.Name } #Get-FASTSearchMetadataCrawledPropertyMapping -ManagedProperty $managedproperty } $searchapp = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication $searchAppName $site= Get-SPSite $siteUrl $siteId=$site.id Write-Host "Start creating Managed properties" $i = 1 FOREACH ($property in $ManagedPropertiesList) { $propertyName=$property.managedPropertyName $crawledName=$property.crawledName $managedPropertyType=$property.managedPropertyType $variantType=$property.variantType Write-Host $managedPropertyType Write-Host "Processing managed property $propertyName $($i)..." $i++ CreateRefiner $crawledName $propertyName $variantType $managedPropertyType $siteId Write-Host "Managed property created " $propertyName } Key Concepts Crawled Properties: Crawled properties are discovered by the search index service component when crawling content.   • Google Talk Chat/Conference Solutions

    - by Adam Davis
I started using the old confbot python conference script in 2005 for my family. This essentially implements an IRC like conference room over Google Talk (or any Jabber/XMPP server). It has significantly increased family communication, and has become rather indispensable due to this. Recently it's begun to have severe problems (people can't see each other in the conference room) which has nearly killed the usefulness of it. Before I develop my own software or debug confbot (probably not - it uses an older jabber library that hasn't been updated since 2003) I wanted to see what other solutions exist that meet our needs: Supports Google Talk (Sorry, I'm not going to try to convince everyone involved to move to a new IM or other client) Free and open source (ideal, but not required) Runs on Windows (Not a web service run by someone else) Implements basic functionality such as kick/ban, emotes Remembers who joined the conference room across restarts Obeys Do Not Disturb and Busy status Archives all activity -Adam

  • Google Talk Video Chat with Gmail and 3rd Party App

    - by Tim Lytle
Google Talk video chat only works in Gmail (because that makes sense, right?); however, other IM apps (I'm using Empathy specifically) support video chat over Google Talk. But can you use video chat outside your 'client'? Can someone on Gmail video chat with someone on Empathy? I'm having problems doing that, and suspect it may because of an older (but certainly not that old) version of Empathy. But before I start troubleshooting I just wanted to make sure ti's possible. Because I believe at one time, it wasn't - correct?

  • Postfix on IspCP cannot send to google apps mail if it is in the same domain

    - by Evan Sap
In my vps setup I have ispcp omega 1.0.7 installed. Everything works fine except the fact that postfix cannot send to google apps mail when the domain of google apps is also registered in ispcp. Postfix sends an email to normal addresses (hotmail, yahoo, gmail etc). I use external dns. There is also a discussion I started in the ispcp forum here .mail.log file provides these messages: mail for exampledomain.gr loops back to myself". postfix/bounce: sender non-delivery notification. postfix/qmgr: removed Any help would be appreciated.

  • PC version of Google Chrome doesn't recognize ".local" domain name

    - by prosseek
With Bonjour installed in PC, I can access my server in Mac with ".local". For example, I can access my mac with the name "prosseek.local". The problem is that in Chrome for PC, it doesn't recognize "local" to open search page instead of accessing mac server. This issue isn't happening with other web browsers (explore/firefox) in PC. What is even wierder is that chrome seems to recognize the ".local" sometimes, but not always. How to solve this issue? Or, how can I teach chrome that ".local" is a part of page name in order not to direct to search page?

  • Bringing Google Docs to the Desktop.

    - by Jonathan Sampson
Is there a stable way of accessing Google Docs (application) from my desktop without having to use a browser on Windows? On my accepted answer... While I did stipulate that I wanted to not use my browser, I didn't really mean I wanted to avoid browser technology. I meant I didn't want to open my browser, type in the web address for google docs, etc. TheTXI's answer required me to download/install nothing more than what I already had (Chrome) to acheive this. It created a desktop icon (similar to an application) that launches me right into my docs (similar to an application), without extra browser-items on the screen. This was an excellent suggestion, and won by virtue of parsimony.

  • Embed Google Calendar agenda to look like the version when editing or adding events [migrated]

    - by DerNalia
How do I get the Google Calendar embed to look like it does when I'm actually inputting events into it? In the attached picture are two version of the Google Calendar agenda. On the left is the one you see when you are managing your calendar: adding events, etc. This is the preferred view. On the right is what happens when you try to embed the agenda on any webpage. Is there a way to get the embed to look like the cleaner version? (The left one?)

  • Google Chrome Freezes ALL the time

    - by Zach Russell
I'm running the most recent version of Google Chrome. I have had this computer for three weeks now with no problems, now today it just WON'T work for me. I am running windows 8 with a machine that can more than handle Chrome. It keeps freezing up literally every five seconds then it unfreezes. I cannot click links or scroll, but I can switch tabs. I have tried several things. Uninstalling Google Chrome Reinstalling Chrome but not logging in Deleting All plugins including Flash Creating a new user and accessing chrome from there This is insanely frustrating and would be forever indebted to whomever helped me solve this problem. I cannot imagine what it is. Thank you in advance!
