• After software update, why is webmin showing wrong mySQL version?

  I did a full OS/package update on a server running webmin. Now when I go into webmin, it's showing the correct new version of Ubuntu, Apache, etc...but it's still showing the old version of mySQL. At the command line, if I enter mysql -v, it shows the correct new one, but it's just not getting recognized in webmin. I found a file at /etc/webmin/mysql called "version", and it's just a text file with the version number in it. So theoretically I could just change this and it would be fine. However, this obviously doesn't seem like how this should go. How should this file normally get updated? ETA: Services have all been restarted (in fact, there's been a full reboot). Sorry for not specifying this...it just seemed like the obvious first thing to do and not worth mentioning. :-)

  I just began with SQL Server 2011 Denali CTP1. The very first thing, I realized that there is no AdventureWorks Sample Database available for Denali. I quickly searched online and reached to Microsoft documentations where it provides information of the how to install (restore) AdventureWorks for SQL Server 2011 for Denali. Download the AdventureWorks from here. Run following script (replace your path of mdf file. CREATE DATABASE AdventureWorks2008R2 ON (FILENAME = 'C:\SQL 11 CTP1\CTP1\AdventureWorks2008R2_Data.mdf') FOR ATTACH_REBUILD_LOG ; When you run above script it will give you following message and you are DONE! File activation failure. The physical file name "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA\AdventureWorks2008R2_Log.ldf" may be incorrect. New log file 'C:\SQL 11 CTP1\CTP1\AdventureWorks2008R2_log.ldf' was created. Converting database 'AdventureWorks2008R2' from version 679 to the current version 684. • Can I upgrade my ubuntu version and change to be primary OS after originally installing with Wibu?

  I have recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 using Wubi 12.04 and I now wish to upgrade to a full installation of Ubuntu 14.04, Before attempting to upgrade through the update center I did some research on upgrading from a Wubi installation (alongside windows) to a full installation making Ubuntu primary and only OS and found that it is in fact doable through the update center however it is just highly recommended to perform a full backup before doing so. I have now finished backing up all the data I need to worry about and began the upgrade process through the update center and received the following error: Your graphics hardware may not be fully supported in Ubuntu 14.04. Running the 'unity' desktop environment is not fully supported by your graphics hardware. You will maybe end up in a very slow environment after the upgrade. • How can I restore my Acer Aspire one GNU version 1.98 to factory settings?

  Requires keyring and authentication to install and unistall programs or update anything. I just want to restart from scratch so i can clean it up anyways. Can anyone help? Also, on start up a list on a black screen will come up saying Ubuntu with linux version 26.32-40 generic or recovery version and at the bottom of different versions has one Window 7 loader option. When I get into recovery menu to try and restore to factory settings my netbook has no restore option. I've tried pressing alt-f10 and holding alt and repeatedly tap f10 but nothing seems to work, and my acer asks for a password login to even load windows 7 which I don't have. Any ideas? I've looked a lot on the internet for help but I'm getting to my last resort, to get of this thing for once and for all. I want to be able to personalize and add programs as I please, this is all bs to go through to unistall one freaking game or get rid of ubuntu gnome keyring!! Please help!! Thank you. :)

• How can I install the Realtek RTL8111E version 8168 driver?

  I downloaded and extracted the latest Linux driver version from Realtek. I read the readme file and it instructed me to run ./autorun.sh as root. I did that. It compiled the driver for my kernel, removed the old default module, but then it fails to install the new 8168 module. It claims that it can't be found. Can this driver be installed manually? Is there a way to fix autorun.sh so it can install properly?

• How can I track the last location of a shipment effeciently using latest date of reporting?

  I need to find the latest location of each cargo item in a consignment. We mostly do this by looking at the route selected for a consignment and then finding the latest (max) time entered against nodes of this route. For example if a route has 5 nodes and we have entered timings against first 3 nodes, then the latest timing (max time) will tell us its location among the 3 nodes. I am really stuck on this query regarding performance issues. Even on few hundred rows, it takes more than 2 minutes. Please suggest how can I improve this query or any alternative approach I should acquire?   In a simple stock management database, quantity of new stock is added and shipped until quantity reaches zero. Each stock movement is assigned a reference, only the latest reference is used. In the example provided, the latest references are never shown, the stock ID's 1,4 should have references charlie, foxtrot respectively, but instead show alpha, delta.   This post is a list of the addins and extensions we (I ) recommend for use in Inmeta.  It’s coming up all the time – what to install, where are the download sites, etc etc, and thus I thought it better to post it here and keep it updated. The basics are Visual Studio 2010 connected to a Team Foundation Server 2010.  The edition of Visual Studio I use is the Ultimate Edition, but as many stay with the Premium Edition I’ve marked the extensions which only works with the Ultimate with a . I’ve also split the group into Recommended (which means Required) and Optional (which means Recommended) and Nice to Have (which means Optional) .   The focus is to get a setup which can be used for a complete coding experience for the whole ALM process.  The Code Gallery is found either through the Tools/Extension Manager menu in Visual Studio or through this link.   I am working on a project that stores multiple versions in the same svn repo but in different directories. For ease of reference for the coders working on the project I'd like to be able to add a commented tag similarly to # $Revision: 144 $ However, instead of the file revision it should contain a simple version number like so: # $Version: 1.63 $ # $Version: 1.64 $ # $Version: 2.0 $ Is there a way to get subversion to do this automatically for a specific directory and all sub-directories as well as for any new files added to those?

• Can I package my Eclipse extension so the right version is automatically installed?

  Is there a way to build an Eclipse Update Site so that Eclipse 3.3 will install one version of my plug-in while Eclipse 3.4 will install another version? Background: I've become responsible for an Eclipse extension that has half a dozen plug-ins which depend on a "support" plug-in, and the support plug-in needs to be one version for Eclipse 3.3 and a different version for Eclipse 3.4/3.5. I currently have two separate features, "extension for 3.3" and "extension for 3.4+" but I'd like to not bother my users with this detail.

• maven-ear-plugin works if jboss version is 4.2, but not 5. Why ?

  I am using maven to configure maven-ear-plugin. I am getting following exception when I say jboss version is 5 (See below code, under tag).   Each version of Visual Studio comes with a specific version of the MFC framework, but I believe MFC SDK can be downloaded separately. Since MFC is just C++, is there any reason you couldn't use the latest version with an older version of VC++... I don't mean trying to get the ribbon working in MSVC++ 6, But we're on VS2005 and some of the newer MFC features would be useful.

  I keep getting weird errors from launchpad when I try and copy the Maverick packages to Natty for the PPA. I select the wine1.3 package (not in Ubuntu), select "copy to this PPA", and then select "rebuild the resulting binaries". This error emerges: The following source cannot be copied: wine1.3 1.3.11-0ubuntu1 in maverick (same version already has published binaries in the destination archive) I have no idea what this error means but apparently it doesn't mean there are binaries in the destination archive.

  Ever since I bought this laptop I've been trying to install Ubuntu on it. It came with W8 preinstalled. Up to this point, I've been able to boot in UEFI mode with a black screen. I can tell it's trying to use the nVidia card (there's a led on the computer, depending on the color you can tell which GPU is using) and if I press crtl+alt+F1 I can go to console mode. Taking this advantage I tried to install bumblebee and after a successful install the led that indicates which GPU is being used change, indicating that it switched to the Intel HD 4600 graphics. After the installation I tried to initiate the graphic interface (startx) with no success. I also saved the dsmeg output to see if it can be of any help. In order to be able to get to this stage I had to boot with nomodeset option and removed quiet and splash. Anyone got this same error? Any guidance? I've tried other linux distros and so far the only one that is able to boot is Opensuse 12.3 without any issues (but only when I switch to legacy mode instead of UEFI).

I'd like to use Symfony to create these scripts and it requires 5.3.2 which shows an even lower adoption rate (roughly 13% of that 18.5% use less than 5.3.2). Would I be risking much by jumping straight to PHP 5.3.2+ or should I ignore the stats and plough ahead?

• Is there a version of Chrome or Chromium whose bookmarks are visible to the HUD?

  I noticed that Firefox has bookmarks that can be executed in the HUD. Love it! Chrome and Chromium, which run javascript apps much faster for some odd reason, allow for history to be called through the HUD, but not bookmarks. This wouldn't be a problem if ALL history was callable, but it seems that Chrome LIMITS the amount of history visible to the hud. Is there a version of chrome or chromium that will see our bookmarks?
