    I have a file that was written with the following Delphi declaration ... Type Tfulldata = Record dpoints, dloops : integer; dtime, bT, sT, hI, LI : real; tm : real; data : array[1..armax] Of Real; End; ... Var: fh: File Of Tfulldata; I want to analyse the data in the files (many MB in size) using Python if possible - is there an easy way to read in the data and cast the data into Python objects similar in form to the Delphi records? Does anyone know of a library perhaps that does this?

  • CSS/HTML: Highlighting the "full width avaialble" to a list item

    I'm working on a website for a small law office. In the side-menu, I'm trying to highlight the "current page". I have tried changing the background of the LI, but this doesn't quite do the trick; the list item doesn't spread to the full width of the menu, so it looks bad. Here's a jfiddle. I would like the yellow section to highlight like the pink section is highlighted: filling up the full vertical and horizontal space, not just highlighting the text. Any suggestions on how to do this? I've included the style tag in the html just for example, obviously, and my real solution will be a little different when it's done. But I can't move forward until I figure out how to somehow highlight the entire line.

  • Orphan Char appearing when using Sifr3 in Navigation (Wordpress)

    Hi there, I am having an issue implementing Sifr3 on this particular site and it's driving me nuts. Hoping someone will be able to help me: http://client.missmonkee.com/agency-mobile LOGIN: client-login cl1entpassw0rd Here at the top right you can see the navigation to the site, in FF3 Win 7 / FF & Safari MAC some menu items show 1 char on a seperate line to the rest of the menu item. It looks as if there is a width on the li or something but I'm 100% sure there isnt and the rest of the menu items are OK and display fine. Something in relation to this might help answer this problem, is that Sifr3 does does not work AT ALL in IE7 WIN. I've checked previous answers to this, being the trailing comma issue but I've triple checked and I do not have any trailing commas. Can anyone help on this pls? Thanks in advance

    Hi. Can someone please help me figure out a way to achieve the following (see snippets below) in Django templates? I know that you cannot use more than one extends, but I am new to django and I do not know the proper syntax for something like this. I want to be able to do this so that I can use my nested div layout for css reasons without having to type it like that each time and risking a typo.   • fieldset form with Table-like layout with CSS?

    I have an application in which I'm currently using a two column table in order to get accurate cell alignment of the left column labels/descriptions with the right column form fields. I'd like to convert it to css and use jQuery to expand/collapse specific sections. I've seen some jQuery libraries, the menu.js in particular. And they appear to all use list items for the markup. I'm OK with converting my table to UL/LI structure if that's what I need to do. Just looking for some advice.

I'm trying to style a asp.net MVC2 form so that instead of having all the fields on a strait line, I would like to have it like so: Label: Text field Label: Text field I know you could do that with a table but I would like to use CSS to accomplish that. I know a little bit about css but not enough to figure out what to do. The only thing I came close to was to but my fields as a unorder list then styling the li item. Thank you for your help!

  • CSS Position:Absolute with relative adjustment

    I am trying to do a vertical dropdown menu. This is my code .menu li:hover>ul{ position:absolute; display:inline; left:120px; top:100px;} I use position: Absolute to remove the sub-menu from the table, once the menu gets hovered. It appears that, if I do not indicate top or left property. The sub-menu will displayed relatively. Now I need to adjust the position relatively but seems that only the left property works. So my sub-menu left position is 120px relatively away from its original position. But the top is 100px away from the top of the window, rather then to the original position. How do I move the list up relative to it original position? I cant use position:relative because I need the sub-menu to be remove from the table.

  • CSS: Why won't this box get wider?

    I just need a sanity check here... DEMO Basically, I can't figure out how to get the box under the link to get wider as more content is added. It seems fixed to the width of the parent div (or the width of, say, the longest element like the select or a really long word with no spaces), despite being absolutely positioned. I use this trick all the time with ul and li but it doesn't make sense to use that in my situation, and for some crazy reason it just won't work with a div inside a div. I don't want to set a width (which, of course, works) because I don't always know what will be in this box. GRR Thanks :\

    I just wrote some markdown and it doesn't seem to render correctly. Is it legal syntax to have an ordered list, followed by newlines, then followed by an unordered list? Or is this a bug in bluecloth? For example: 1. One 2. Two 3. Three * Apple * Banana * Carrot Bluecloth creates a single <ul> and nests apple, banana and carrot as <li>'s under it. Stackoverflow's post editor (wmd?) does this too. Am I just doing it wrong? Surely this is a common usage case...

    The MovieLens data set provides a table with columns: userid | movieid | tag | timestamp I have trouble reproducing the way they pruned the MovieLens data set used in: Tag Informed Collaborative Filtering, by Zhen, Li and Young In 4.1 Data Set of the above paper, it writes "For the tagging information, we only keep those tags which are added on at least 3 distinct movies. As for the users, we only keep those users who used at least 3 distinct tags in their tagging history. For movies, we only keep those movies that are annotated by at least 3 distinct tags." I tried to query the database: select TMP.userid, count(*) as tagnum from (select distinct T.userid as userid, T.tag as tag from tags T) AS TMP group by TMP.userid having tagnum >= 3; I got a list of 1760 users who labeled 3 distinct tags. However, some of the tags are not added on at least 3 distinct movies. Any help is appreciated.

  • Can jQuery UI's Sortable handle complex selectors for the items option?

    I have list items in an unordered list that when double clicked, can be edited in place via a wysiwyg editor. $('ul.mtm_section').sortable({ disabled: true, distance: 10, items: '> li:not(:has(form))' }); My goal is to prevent the list item from being sorted while it is being edited - aka once a form element has been swapped in place of the contents. Unfortunately my selector for items is not working. Is sortable able to handle complex selectors like these? If not, are there other clever means to disable some items from being sortable, perhaps a callback function? I would prefer to rely on this sortable option, as the wysiwyg plugin is deeply nested with jEditable and as far as I know does not open up any events for me to hook into. Using jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.1

  • jQuery - How to combine has() and gt()

    With jQuery 1.4.2, I can't figure out how to combine has() with :gt. I'd like to select any ul which contains more than 3 lis, so here's what I've tried: $(document).ready(function(){ $("ul.collapse:has(li:gt(2))") .each( function() { $(this).css("border", "solid red 1px"); }); }); This does work with the 1.2.6 jQuery library, but not 1.3.2 or 1.4.2.     Should not be such a hard question... I'm just having a hard time figuring out how to make operations on some jquery elements, particularly their indexes. Teh codez: $( "#docSlider" ).css("background-image", "url(../../bundles/mypath/images/maquette/img" + $( "#selectable li" ).index( this ) + (".jpg)")); I want to make the name of the picture I load depend on the index of a jQuery selectable. So I grab the index and try to add 1... but it can't work because "+" is also a concatenator. I've tried to parseInt as well, but it was always worth 0. How do I simply transform the index to an integer and then concatenate it with the rest of the string? Thank you in advance! Edit : I'm using a function that already exists, so I can hardly change the parameters (well, I guess I can't...)

  • Is it possible to reference object within the same object?

    I've been messing around with jQuery plugin code and I'm trying to put all of my common variables into a single object for easy access. I have included a few examples below on how I've done this, but I'm wondering how others deal with this problem. Lets say I have this var x = function(options){ var defaults = { ulist : $('ul#list'), listLen : $('ul#list').children().length } $.extend(options, defaults); // do other stuff } What I'm trying to do is use the ulist object in as a base, then find the number of li's I guess I could do this: var x = function(options){ var defaults = { ulist : $('ul#list'), listLen : 0 } defaults.listLen = defaults.ulist.children().length; $.extend(options, defaults); // do other stuff } or this: var x = function(options){ var defaults = { ulist : $('ul#list') }; var defaults2 = { listLen : defaults.ulist.children().length } $.extend(defaults, defaults2); $.extend(options, defaults); // do other stuff } The above code samples are just thrown together, and only meant to get the idea across to you.   • IE - Color transparent not working

    Hello, I have a problem with the IE (what else?): I generate content with CSS which has also a background-image. I looks like that: #nav ul li:after { content: "--"; position: relative; z-index: 99; background: transparent url(image.png); color: transparent; } The text color is in non-IE-browsers transparent, but in all IE browsers it's black and you could see it. How could I make the text transparent/unvisible? I tried already: visibility - opacity - filter - text-indent ... But none did his job right, either it disappears (with it background which I need) or the attribute doesn't apply.

  • Why is display:inline killing IE 8.0 performance?

    I have an image gallery based on this jQuery plugin: http://jqueryfordesigners.com/demo/slider-gallery.html This works really well in Firefox, Chrome and even IE 7.0, but when I try it with more than 50 images in IE 8.0 the performance is incredible slow. Just hovering over the thumbnail brings the CPU load to 100%. At first I thought it's a Javascript problem, so I used the IE profiler, but the results were normal. Next I checked the CSS and finally found the cause: .sliderGallery UL LI { display: inline; } This gets the thumbnails to align horizontally. If I chance it to display:block, performance is fine and the scroller is still working but obviously it looks funny, because the thumbs are aligned vertically. My questions: Why does IE 8 have this problem with many display:inline elements What can I do to solve it I'll gladly provide more information if necessary.

    I have the following setup: A sortable list where one of the <li> has a table with lists in each cell. All of the lists are sortable with each other. Draggable items that can be added to any of the sortables Issue: When adding a draggable item ('drag 1', 'drag 2', 'drag 3') to one of the lists in the horizontal lists (table of lists) it duplicates the draggable when dropped. Sometimes it will create both copies in the same list or one in the item list and one in the column list.   • Where to place a query that should be included in all or most views

    In my application I have a sidebar which I want to include a list of pages. Cheating on the MVC setup, I can pretty easily display this as follows (in HAML): # layouts/_sidebar.html.haml %h4 Pages %ul.pages - for page in Page.all %li= link_to page.title, page Now, this works just fine, but clearly it's against the convention. The problem is, this shared layout partial is present in most (but not all) views, and therefore to serve the pages from the controller layer would mean needing to inject an instance variable into almost every controller action in the application. That isn't very clean or DRY. So, how would you handle this kind of situation? Is there a clean, DRY place to put this kind of a simple query that respects Rails MVC convention better?
