  • Issue with blocking the UI during a onchange request - prevents other event from firing.

    - by jfrobishow
    I am having issues with jQuery blockUI plugins and firing two events that are (I think, unless I am loosing it) unrelated. Basically I have textboxes with onchange events bound to them. The event is responsible for blocking the UI, doing the ajax call and on success unblocking the UI. The ajax is saving the text in memory. The other control is a button with on onclick event which also block the UI, fire an ajax request saving what's in memory to the database and on success unblock the UI. Both of these work fine separately. The issue arise when I trigger the onchange by clicking on the button. Then only the onchange is fired and the onclick is ignored. I can change the text in the checkbox, click on the link and IF jQuery.blockUI() is present the onchange alone is fired and the save is never called. If I remove the blockUI both function are called. Here's a fully working example where you can see the issue. Please note the setTimeout are there when I was trying to simulate the ajax delay but the issue is happening without it. <html> <head> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="http://github.com/malsup/blockui/raw/master/jquery.blockUI.js?v2.31"></script> <script> function doSomething(){ $.blockUI(); alert("doing something"); //setTimeout(function(){ $.unblockUI(); //},500); } function save(){ $.blockUI(); //setTimeout(function(){ alert("saving"); $.unblockUI(); //}, 1000); } </script> </head> <body> <input type="text" onchange="doSomething();"> <a href="#" onclick="save()">save</a> </body> </html>

  • jQuery function execute on Button Click and Enter/Return (key)

    - by Alvin Jones
    I'm trying to create a little search box that allows you to search Twitter based on the keyword you enter in the input field. While it's work, it only works if you press the Submit button. I would also like to be able to press the Enter or Return key to initiate the search. I've tried using the .sumbit function and wrapping my input around a form element with no success. Any insight would be greatly appreciate! Live example: http://tinyurl.com/84axyym <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ function(data) { $('#startSearch').click(function(){ $('#tweets .results').remove(); var searchTerm = 'http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=' + $('#twitterSearch').val() + '&callback=?' $.getJSON(searchTerm, function(data) { $.each(data.results, function() { $('<div class="results"></div>') .hide() .append('<a class="userPicLink" href="http://twitter.com/' + this.from_user + '">' + '<img class="userImg" src="' + this.profile_image_url + '">' + '</a>') .append('<span class="userName">' + '<a href="http://twitter.com/' + this.from_user + '">' + this.from_user + '</span>') .append('<span class="userText">' + this.text + '</span>') .append('<time class="textTime">' + relTime(this.created_at) + '</time>') .appendTo('#tweets') .fadeIn(); }); }); </script> <body> <label id="searchLabel" for="twitterSearch">Search</label> <input type="search" list="searchSugg" id="twitterSearch" placeholder="css3 animation" required aria-required="true"> <input id="startSearch" type="submit"> <datalist id="searchSugg"> <option value="css3 mulitple backgrounds"> <option value="html5 video"> <option value="responsive web design"> <option value="twitter api"> </datalist> <div id="tweets"> </div> </body>

  • Can't figure out the color of an svg element

    - by yass
    I have a very simple HTML page, viewable on gh-pages with the following code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <link href="style.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> <script src='http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js'> </script> </head> <body> <div id="page"> <div id="content"> <div id="heatmap"> <svg style="margin-left: 80px; color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" width="800" height="880"> <g transform="translate(80,80)"> <rect style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" height="720" width="720"> </rect> </g> </svg> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html> with the following CSS: body { background-color: #FFFFFF; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: #FFFFFF; } #wrapper { margin: 0 auto; padding: 0; } #page { width: 1000px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 40px 0px 0px 0px; } #content { float: left; width: 660px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; background: #FFFFFF; } I expect the rectangle, 'svg rect' to be the color #FFFFFF, or white. But it shows up as some other color. I opened it up in firebug, and it shows the computed color to be #FFFFF:

  • Javascript table construction bug using JQuery in Firefox on Mac OSX

    - by Poita_
    I'm using some code to build up tables using JQuery, but in Firefox 3.5.3 on Mac OSX, the table cells all appear on separate lines by themselves, instead of in their respective rows. Chrome 5.0.342.7 beta on OSX correctly produces the table, as does Safari 4.0.5. Here is a minimal reproduction case: <html> <body> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { var b = $('body'); b.append("<table>"); for (var i = 0; i < 3; ++i) { b.append("<tr>"); for (var j = 0; j < 3; ++j) b.append("<td>x</td>"); b.append("</tr>"); } b.append("</table>"); }); </script> </body> </html> In Chrome and Safari, I get this correct output: x x x x x x x x x but Firefox produces: x x x x x x x x x Note that if I manually create that exact table without using Javascript (i.e. direct into the HTML) then the table appears correctly in Firefox. Also, if I change the JS to append then entire table in one call then it also works -- the only time it doesn't work is if you append it part-by-part as I have done before. My question is: is this to be expected, or should I report this as a bug to Firefox? I'm pretty sure this is a Firefox bug, but I'm a bit of a newbie to JS and web development in general, so perhaps there's something I'm missing? P.S. obviously there are easy ways to get around this -- that's not my concern. See above.

  • position:absolute within border-radius and overflow:hidden

    - by JaNightmare
    I had a problem with border-radius in webkit browsers and found the solution at the following URL: How to make CSS3 rounded corners hide overflow in Chrome/Opera but iam using a another element with position: absolute; inside this now I need to make the caption with rounded border too, but do not know how note: i can't use another border-radius in caption, because this will have an animation see the code with: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <title>Problem</title> <style type="text/css"> img { border: 0; } a { text-decoration: none; } .wrap-events { float: left; position: relative; width: 500px; height: 250px; } .events { overflow: hidden; -webkit-border-radius: 50px; -moz-border-radius: 50px; border-radius: 50px; } .caption { position: absolute; width: 100%; bottom: 0; color: #FFFFFF; background-color: #151515; font: 12px "Arial", Helvetica, sans-serif; opacity: 0.6; border-radius: 0 0 50px 50px; /* add border-radius to caption */ } .caption p { padding: 10px; } </style> </head> <body> <div class="wrap-events"> <div class="events"> <a href="#"> <img src="http://www.cg-auto.com.br/forum/imagens/imagens_news/26c4dc4359edcfd4c6871ee1fa958539.jpg" alt="image"> </a> <div class="caption"> <p>This is a caption</p> </div> </div> </div> <button id="slide">Slide It!</button> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $('#slide').click(function(){ $('.caption').hide().slideDown(2000); }); </script> </body> </html> cheers

  • remove/ignore float from outer div

    - by acidzombie24
    This may sound weird but i have some css which aligns mys divs. In one place i also use http://www.brunildo.org/test/img_center.html which centers images. Now i want my divs inside a larger div to go to another line if this one gets full. float: left seems to be the answer. The problem is it ruins my formatting. Including solution in the above link. I have this test code. If i remove the width and float it looks fine except it may take up too much space and not go to another line. I was thinking i could use float on an outerdiv and center the image within. However float: left is still breaking it. I am hoping there is a way to remove the float so each div does go left but the div inside centers correctly not breaking my formatting. <style type="text/css"> .wraptocenter { display: table-cell; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle; width: 200px; height: 200px; background: blue; } .wraptocenter * { vertical-align: middle; } /*\*//*/ .wraptocenter { display: block; } .wraptocenter span { display: inline-block; height: 100%; width: 1px; } /**/ div.c { background: red; overflow: hidden; min-width: 400px; max-width: 400px; } div.c div { float: left; } </style> <!--[if lt IE 8]><style> .wraptocenter span { display: inline-block; height: 100%; } </style><![endif]--> <div class="c"> <div> <div> <div class="wraptocenter"><span></span><img src="a.jpg" alt="/a.jpg"></div> <div class="wraptocenter"><span></span><img src="a.jpg" alt="/a.jpg"></div> <div class="wraptocenter"><span></span><img src="a.jpg" alt="/a.jpg"></div> </div></div></div>

  • jQuery slider onChange auto submit form

    - by bikey77
    I'm using a jQuery slider as a price range selector in a form. I'd like to have the form submit automatically when one of the values has been changed. I used a couple of examples I found on SO but they didn't work with my code. <form action="itemlist.php" method="post" enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded" name="priceform" id="priceform" target="_self"> <div id="slider-holder"> Prices: From <span id="pricefromlabel">100 &#8364;</span> To <span id="pricetolabel">500 &#8364;</span> <input type="hidden" id="pricefrom" name="pricefrom" value="100" /> <input type="hidden" id="priceto" name="priceto" value="500" /> <div id="slider-range"></div> <input name="Search" type="submit" value="Search" /> </div> </form> This is the code that displays the values of the slider and updates 2 hidden form fields I use to store the prices in order to submit: <script> $(function() { $("#slider-range" ).slider({ range: true, min: 0, max: 1000, values: [ <?=$minprice?>, <?=$maxprice?> ], start: function (event, ui) { event.stopPropagation(); }, slide: function( event, ui ) { $( "#pricefrom" ).val(ui.values[0]); $( "#priceto" ).val(ui.values[1]); $( "#pricefromlabel" ).html(ui.values[0] + ' &euro;'); $( "#pricetolabel" ).html(ui.values[1] + ' &euro;'); } }); return false; }); </script> I've tried adding this code as well as an data-autosubmit="true" attribute to the div but no result. $(function() { $('[data-autosubmit="true"]').change(function() { parentForm = $(this).('#priceform'); clearTimeout(submitTimeout); submitTimeout = setTimeout(function() { parentForm.submit() }, 100); }); I've also tried adding a $.post() event to the slider but I'm not very good with jQuery so I'm probably doing it wrong. Any help will be appreciated.

  • Line graph disappears after new line is added

    - by tonystinge
    I am having trouble uploading a large .csv file to my HIGHCHART graph. I've been able to graph an 85KB up to 1486 lines by 9 (I) columns. Here is an example: TimeStamp Temp_1_01 Temp_1_02 Temp_2_01 Temp_2_02 Temp_3_01 Temp_3_02 Temp_4_01 Temp_4_02 5/15/2014, 3:25 408 487 63 84 67 91 63 78 5/15/2014 3:30 408 487 63 84 67 91 63 78 5/15/2014 3:35 407 489 63 84 67 91 63 78 5/15/2014 3:40 408 488 63 84 67 91 63 78 5/15/2014 3:44 408 488 63 84 67 91 63 78 ... 5/22/2014 9:40 483 421 0 93 76 95 72 89 When I add a new line the line graph disappears. Any suggestions? Here is the javascript: $.get('Dropbox/geo/sites/GC_Room/loveland.csv', function(data) { // Split the lines var lines = data.split('\n'); var i = 0; var csvData = []; // Iterate over the lines and add categories or series $.each(lines, function(lineNo, line) { csvData[i] = line.split(','); i = i + 1; }); var columns = csvData[0]; var categories = [], series = []; for(var colIndex=0,len=columns.length; colIndex<len; colIndex++) { //first row data as series's name var seriesItem= { data:[], name:csvData[0][colIndex] }; for(var rowIndex=1,rowCnt=csvData.length; rowIndex<rowCnt; rowIndex++) { //first column data as categories, if (colIndex == 0) { categories.push(csvData[rowIndex][0]); } else if(parseFloat(csvData[rowIndex][colIndex])) // <-- here { seriesItem.data.push(parseFloat(csvData[rowIndex][colIndex])); } }; //except first column if(colIndex>0)series.push(seriesItem); } // Create the chart var chart = new Highcharts.Chart( { chart: { alignTick: false, renderTo: 'LANE_METALS', type: 'line' }, title: { text: 'Monthly Average Temperature', x: -20 //center }, subtitle: { text: 'Source: LANE METALS', x: -20 }, xAxis: { categories: categories, labels: { step: 200, text: 'Time', }, tickWidth: 0 }, yAxis: { title: { text: 'Temperature (\xB0C)' }, min: 0 }, tooltip: { formatter: function() { return '<b>'+ this.series.name +'</b><br/>'+ this.x +': '+ this.y +'\xB0C'; } }, legend: { layout: 'vertical', //backgroundColor: '#FFFFFF', //floating: true, align: 'left', //x: 100, verticalAlign: 'top', //y: 70, borderWidth: 0 }, plotOptions: { area: { turboThreshold: 0, stacking: 'normal', lineColor: '#666666', lineWidth: 1, marker: { lineWidth: 1, lineColor: '#666666' } } }, series: series }); });

  • Newbie jQuery question: Need slideshow to rotate automatically, not just when clicking navigation.

    - by Justin
    Hi everyone, This is my first post, so please forgive me if this question has been asked a million times. I'm a self professed jQuery hack and I need a little guidance on taking this script I found and adapting it to my needs. Anyway, what I'm making is an image slide show with navigation. The script I found does this, but does not automatically cycle through the images. I'm using jQuery 1.3.2 and would rather stick with that than using the newer library. I would also prefer to edit what is already here rather than start from scratch. Anywho, here's the html: <div id="myslide"> <div class="cover"> <div class="mystuff"> <img alt="&nbsp;" src="http://www.mfhc.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/current_Denver-skyline.jpg" /> </div> <div class="mystuff"> <img alt="&nbsp;" src="http://www.mfhc.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/pepsi_center-IS42RF-0D111C.jpg" /> </div> <div class="mystuff"> <img alt="&nbsp;" src="http://www.mfhc.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/columbine-2689820469_D1104.jpg" /> </div> <div class="mystuff"> <img alt="&nbsp;" src="http://www.mfhc.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/ist2_10460354-RedRocks.jpg" /> </div> </div> <!-- end of div cover --> </div> <!-- end of div myslide --> And here's the jQuery: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/JavaScript"> $(document).ready(function (){ $('#button a').click(function(){ var integer = $(this).attr('rel'); $('#myslide .cover').css({left:-820*(parseInt(integer)-1)}).hide().fadeIn(); /*----- Width of div #mystuff (here 820) ------ */ $('#button a').each(function(){ $(this).removeClass('active'); if($(this).hasClass('button'+integer)){ $(this).addClass('active')} }); }); }); </script> Here's where I got the script: http://www.webdeveloperjuice.com/2010/04/07/create-lightweight-jquery-fade-manual-slideshow/ Again, if this question is too basic for this site please let me know and possibly provide a reference link or two. Thanks a ton!

  • Creating a multiplatform webapp with HTML5 and Google maps

    - by Bart L.
    I'm struggling how to develop a webapp for Android and iOS. My first app was a simple todo app which was easy to test in my browser and it only used html, javascript and css. However, I have to create an app which uses Google Maps Api to get the location. I created a simple html5 page to test which places a marker on a map. It works fine when testing it on my local server. But when I create an .apk file for Android, the app doesn't work. So I'm wondering, isn't it possible to use it like this? Do I have the use the phonegap libraries to use their geolocation library? And if so, how do you handle the development of a webapp in phonegap for multiple OS? Do you have to install an Android environment and an iOS environment to each include the right phonegap library and to test them properly? Update: I use the following code on my webserver and it works perfectly. When I upload it in a zip-folder to the photogap cloud and install the APK file on my phone, it doesn't work. <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Simple Geo test</title> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8/jquery.min.js"></script> </head> <body> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=true"></script> <script> function success(position) { var mapcanvas = document.createElement('div'); mapcanvas.id = 'mapcontainer'; mapcanvas.style.height = '200px'; mapcanvas.style.width = '200px'; document.querySelector('article').appendChild(mapcanvas); var coords = new google.maps.LatLng(position.coords.latitude, position.coords.longitude); var options = { zoom: 15, center: coords, mapTypeControl: false, navigationControlOptions: { style: google.maps.NavigationControlStyle.SMALL }, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP }; var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("mapcontainer"), options); var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: coords, map: map, title:"You are here!" }); } if (navigator.geolocation) { navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(success); } else { error('Geo Location is not supported'); } </script> <article></article> </body> </html>

  • Canvas scalable arc position

    - by Amay
    http://jsfiddle.net/cs5Sg/11/ I want to do the scalable canvas. I created two circles (arcs) and one line, when you click on circle and move it, the line will follow and change position. The problem is when I added code for resize: var canvas = document.getElementById('myCanvas'), context = canvas.getContext('2d'), radius = 12, p = null, point = { p1: { x:100, y:250 }, p2: { x:400, y:100 } }, moving = false; window.addEventListener("resize", OnResizeCalled, false); function OnResizeCalled() { var gameWidth = window.innerWidth; var gameHeight = window.innerHeight; var scaleToFitX = gameWidth / 800; var scaleToFitY = gameHeight / 480; var currentScreenRatio = gameWidth / gameHeight; var optimalRatio = Math.min(scaleToFitX, scaleToFitY); if (currentScreenRatio >= 1.77 && currentScreenRatio <= 1.79) { canvas.style.width = gameWidth + "px"; canvas.style.height = gameHeight + "px"; } else { canvas.style.width = 800 * optimalRatio + "px"; canvas.style.height = 480 * optimalRatio + "px"; } } function init() { return setInterval(draw, 10); } canvas.addEventListener('mousedown', function(e) { for (p in point) { var mouseX = e.clientX - 1, mouseY = e.clientY - 1, distance = Math.sqrt(Math.pow(mouseX - point[p].x, 2) + Math.pow(mouseY - point[p].y, 2)); if (distance <= radius) { moving = p; break; } } }); canvas.addEventListener('mouseup', function(e) { moving = false; }); canvas.addEventListener('mousemove', function(e) { if(moving) { point[moving].x = e.clientX - 1; point[moving].y = e.clientY - 1; } }); function draw() { context.clearRect(0, 0, canvas.width, canvas.height); context.beginPath(); context.moveTo(point.p1.x,point.p1.y); context.lineTo(point.p2.x,point.p2.y); context.closePath(); context.fillStyle = '#8ED6FF'; context.fill(); context.stroke(); for (p in point) { context.beginPath(); context.arc(point[p].x,point[p].y,radius,0,2*Math.PI); context.fillStyle = 'red'; context.fill(); context.stroke(); } context.closePath(); } init(); The canvas is scalable, but the problem is with the points (circles). When you change the window size, they still have the same position on the canvas area, but the distance change (so the click option fails). How to fix that?

  • JQuery not copying state dropdown list 1 to DDL2 on checkbox change

    - by user1001411
    I've looked at similar posts on the subject but none of the recommended solutions have worked for me so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. I have a billing and shipping address form with a dropdown list for the state. Upon checking/unchecking the "billing address same as shipping" everything copies over except the state dropdown list. The state dropdown list is populated from a SQLDataSource state table. Here's my code: <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('input:checkbox[id*=chkCopy]').change(function () { if ($(this).is(':checked')) { $('input:text[id*=TextBox5]').val($('input:text[id*=TextBox1]').val()); $('input:text[id*=TextBox7]').val($('input:text[id*=TextBox2]').val()); $('input:text[id*=TextBox9]').val($('input:text[id*=TextBox3]').val()); $('input:text[id*=TextBox12]').val($('input:text[id*=TextBox4]').val()); $('select#DropDownList6').val($("select#DropDownList1").val()); $('input:text[id*=TextBox14]').val($('input:text[id*=TextBox6]').val()); } else { $('input:text[id*=TextBox5]').val(''); $('input:text[id*=TextBox7]').val(''); $('input:text[id*=TextBox9]').val(''); $('input:text[id*=TextBox12]').val(''); $('select#DropDownList6').val(''); $('input:text[id*=TextBox14]').val(''); } }); }); and here is my SQL for the DDL: <asp:DropDownList ID="DropDownList1" runat="server" DataTextField="Descr" DataValueField="ID" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1" Width="254"> </asp:DropDownList> <asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ASPNETDBConnectionString1 %>" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM [xrefState]"> </asp:SqlDataSource> the other one: <asp:DropDownList ID="DropDownList6" runat="server" DataTextField="Descr" DataValueField="ID" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource5" Width="254"> </asp:DropDownList> <asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource5" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ASPNETDBConnectionString1 %>" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM [xrefState]"> </asp:SqlDataSource>

  • Help with doctype issues

    - by James
    Hi I am having issues making my footer stick to the bottom of the page in all browsers. I have the following document structure: <html> <head> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="header"> <ul> <li>home</li> </ul> </div> <div class="expander"></div> </div> <div id="footer" class="expander"> </div> </body> </html> Relevant CSS is: body { margin: 0; height: 100%; } #wrapper { min-height: 100%; height: auto !important; height: 100%; margin: 0 auto -116px; } .expander { height: 116px; } #footer { width: 100%; } #header ul { list-style: none outside none; clear: both; margin: 0; } #header li { margin: 0; margin-right: 20px; padding: 0; display: inline-block; height: 85px; padding-top: 20px; margin-bottom: -20px; } When used without any doc type, the page renders as I intend it to in Chrome and Firefox. In IE8, however, the list item tabs are on separate lines When I add an XHTML doctype, the page renders correctly in IE8 except the footer is not drawn at the bottom of the page in IE8, Chrome or Firefox, i.e. the footer sits directly below the menu bar. Example doctype: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> What am I doing wrong?

  • jQuery doesn't work in <head>?!

    - by Hanz
    This code is supposed to make a slideshow out of stacked list-elements (I commented out the CSS so I can see what's going on) by fading out the topmost elements until only the first one is visible, then fade in the topmost element and the rest and start anew. If I put the script below my content inside the <body> and throw out the $(function() { it works perfectly fine, but in the <head> nothing happens. I wrote this yesterday and today I still can't see the mistake, so I'm posting it here. <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title></title> <style type="text/css"> ul { position: relative; } ul li { /*position: absolute; left: 0; top: 0;*/ } </style> <script src="jquery-1.5.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { var i = 0; var count = $('ul li').size(); function fade() { if (i < count-1) { $('ul li:nth-child('+(count-i)+')').fadeOut(300); i++; } else { $('ul li:nth-child('+count+')').fadeIn(300, function(){$('ul li').show();}); i = 0; } } $('button').click(function() { setInterval('fade()', 1000); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <button>Slideshow GO!</button> <ul id="slider"> <li><img src="1.jpg" /></li> <li><img src="2.jpg" /></li> <li><img src="3.jpg" /></li> <li><img src="4.jpg" /></li> </ul> </body> </html> Thanks

  • 1) PasswordResets emails user when requesting password reset

    - by Surge Pedroza
    I've been trying to add a password reset for users that forget their password. The users clicks on forgot password? on sign up page. Then the user types their email and clicks reset password, which creates a token and sends an email with a link to reset their password. For the most part, it was working well, and then it suddenly stopped working. • IE is doing strange things with JQuery

    - by Syncopated
    So ... The thing is, the code works in FireFox, no problems. But when I open the same page, it gives me the following error: "Undefined is null or not an object." But when I copy the code to a localhost page, it works fine. Also when I clear my cache in IE it works, but only once, if I refresh after that one load, it gives me the same error. Here is the code: <script type="text/javascript" src="datepicker/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var count3 = 0; var count5 = 0; var count2 = 0; var count4 = 0; $(document).ready(function(){ $('#switch3').click(function(){ $('#switchDiv3').slideToggle(350); if(count3 == 0){ count3 = 1; document.getElementById('switchImage3').src = "images/ArrowDown.png"; return; } else { count3 = 0; document.getElementById('switchImage3').src = "images/ArrowRight.png"; return; } }); ... (this is the code for each item that is generated) </script> And the code that determines the div that should hide: <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"> <tr> <td width="20" align="center" valign="top" style="padding-right: 3px"> <a style="cursor: pointer;" id="switch3"><img width="20" height="20" src="images/ArrowRight.png" id="switchImage3" style="border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; border-color: black;"/></a> </td> <td> <div id="switchDiv3"> <div align="left"> (Contents of the div here) </div> </div> </td> </tr> </table> Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance

  • Need advice about pointers and time elapsed program. How to fix invalid operands and cannot convert errors?

    - by user1781382
    I am trying to write a program that tells the difference between the two times the user inputs. I am not sure how to go about this. I get the errors : Line 27|error: invalid operands of types 'int' and 'const MyTime*' to binary 'operator-'| Line |39|error: cannot convert 'MyTime' to 'const MyTime*' for argument '1' to 'int DetermineElapsedTime(const MyTime*, const MyTime*)'| I also need a lot of help in this problem. I don't have a good curriculum, and my class textbook is like cliffnotes for programming. This will be my last class at this university. The C++ teztbook I use(my own not for class) is Sam's C++ One hour a day. #include <iostream> #include<cstdlib> #include<cstring> using namespace std; struct MyTime { int hours, minutes, seconds; }; int DetermineElapsedTime(const MyTime *t1, const MyTime *t2); long t1, t2; int DetermineElapsedTime(const MyTime *t1, const MyTime *t2) { return((int)t2-t1); } int main(void) { char delim1, delim2; MyTime tm, tm2; cout << "Input two formats for the time. Separate each with a space. Ex: hr:min:sec\n"; cin >> tm.hours >> delim1 >> tm.minutes >> delim2 >> tm.seconds; cin >> tm2.hours >> delim1 >> tm2.minutes >> delim2 >> tm2.seconds; DetermineElapsedTime(tm, tm2); return 0; } I have to fix the errors first. Anyone have any ideas??

  • How to validate if all check boxes are ticked in jQuery?

    - by Jude
    I am a beginner in jQuery and I was wondering how to validate the form before submission specifically for check boxes. I am creating a simple check list form where my user would tick a check box if he finished that step. What I am planning to do is that, the script would prevent the form submission if there is an "unticked" checkbox and highlight it with a color. Here's my code : <!doctype html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>checkbox</title> <style> .error { background-color:#F00; } .valid { background-color:#0F0; } </style> <script type="application/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.8.2.min.js"> </script> <script type="application/javascript"> function validateAll() { $(".tick").change(function(){ if ($('.tick:checked').length == $('.tick').length) { $('#container').removeClass(); $('#container').addClass('error'); } else { $('#container').removeClass(); $('#container').addClass('valid'); } }); } </script> </head> <body> <div id="container"><input class="tick" id="option1" type="checkbox"></div> <div id="container"><input class="tick" id="option1" type="checkbox"></div> <input id="button" type="button" onClick="validateAll();" value="check"> </body> </html> So what I am trying to do here is when the user clicks the button, the script will highlight all the unchecked check box with red and highlight all checked with green. However, my script is not functioning. What is wrong with my script? Any suggestions on a more efficient way to do this?
