  • Examples of CoffeeScript in NodeJS?

    - by Austin Hyde
As a pet project, I am trying to get familiar with NodeJS and CoffeeScript, and am finding it hard to get the ball rolling. I've found plenty of examples of single-file super-simple apps like in CoffeeScript's examples folder, however, none of those really show what a full application would look like. I've also scrounged Google to no avail. Do you have any examples of medium-sized, multi-file CoffeeScript/NodeJS apps I could learn from?

  • Convert MYSQL Timestamp to time_t

    - by Kewley
I'm writing a multi-threaded program that needs to be able to check if a row requires updating and act accordingly. I had problems using the built in date/time functions of MySql and so decided to just store the "lastupdate" timestamp as an integer in the table. However, I'm having problems converting this timestamp to time_t so that I can use the time functions with it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • How to upload a huge(GBs) file to a webserver

    - by Aman Jain
Hi I want to create a web interface that will allow users to upload huge files. These files are actually vmdk files(Virtual Machine Disks), and they can be multi GB in size. I think this makes the situation different from normal file uploads(10-20MB file uploads). So any advise on how to achieve the same in an efficient and fault tolerant way, is appreciated. Thanks Aman Jain

  • How to speed up loading the splash screen.

    - by AngryHacker
I am optimizing the startup of a WinForms app. One issue I identified is the loading of the splash screen form. It takes about half a second to a second. I know that multi-threading is a no-no on UI pieces, however, seeing how the splash screen is a fairly autonomous piece of the application, is it possible to somehow mitigate its performance hit by throwing it one some other thread (perhaps in the way Chrome does it), so that the important pieces of the application can actually get going.

  • Beginner SEO question on urlrewrite rules

    - by Charlie
I just starting reading about SEO and realized that I should change my "GET" queries to / separated keywords for SEO purposes. Here's my question: I have a multi-select checkbox on my form, so my query string would be: http://www.domainname.com/searchitem.html?cat[]=A&cat[]=B&cat[]=C&param1=p1&param2=p2 Whats the convention for handling this kind of queries? changing it to search/catA/catB/catC/p1/p2 doesn't seem right to me but i don't know what else to do Thanks

  • 'add another item' in non-CCK Drupal forms

    - by ceejayoz
CCK for Drupal has the handy feature of allowing a single CCK field to accept multiple values via a "add another item" button that results in an array of data in the node. I'm wondering if there's any easy way of adapting this for a non-CCK form that I'd be calling by drupal_get_form. I'd rather not have to re-invent the wheel with multi-step form techniques. Anyone done this?

  • PHP - CURL vs fopen vs fsocketopen ?

    - by TatMing
I would write a WordPress plugin to parse all image source and check it's broken link or not. My idea is : Select all post&page's images by regex from MySQL Navigate the image url and get the response header (404 ,403 error etc) print a report Since i don't need actual to download the binary file, so in performance ,compare in CURL , fopen , fsocketopen Which one is worst to use? And one more question, which method can execute in multi-thread?
