  Ok, for the last few days I have been attempting to find a method to pull a very important set of information form a table that contains what I call daily counts. I have a table that is setup as follows. person|company|prod1|prod2|prod3|gen_date Each company has more then one person, and each person can have different combination of products that they have purchased. What I have been trying to figure out is a SQL statement that will list the number of people that have bought a particular product per company. So an output similar to this: Comp ABC | 13 Prod1 | 3 Prod2 | 5 Prod 3 Comp DEF | 2 Prod1 | 15 Prod2 | 0 Prod 3 Comp HIJ | 0 Prod1 | 0 Prod2 | 7 Prod 3 Currently if a person did not select a product the value being stored is NULL. Best I have right now is 3 different statements that can produce this information if run on there own. SELECT Count(person) as puchases, company FROM Sales WHERE prod1 = '1' and gendate = '3/24/2010' Group BY company

• Fluent many-to-many: Deleting one end does not remove the entry in the relation table

  I have two classes (Parent, Child) that have a many-to-many relationship that only one end (Parent) knows about. My problem is that when I delete a "relation unaware" object (Child), the record in the many-to-many table is left. I want the relationship to be removed regardless of which end of it is deleted. How can I do that with Fluent NHibernate mappings, without adding a Parent property on Child? • Combine two views into one view

  I have two views that I would like to combine into one. The first view shows all items of X where company ID = Y. This is to give preferential sort to the client first, and then everyone else. So I created a second view, all items of X, where company ID != Y. I created it as an Attachment to attach to the first view, but I don't think I got the intended result. How can I combine these views so the first view results are listed first, and then the second view is too, using the same pager, filters, and arguments? Is there any way of achieving this without programming it?

Internally it should do something like this: public <T> List<T> sublist(Set<T> set, int count) { Iterator<T> iterator = set.iterator(); List<T> sublist = new LinkedList<T>(); int pos = 0; while (iterator.hasNext() && pos++ < count) { sublist.add(iterator.next()); } return sublist; } Obviously, if there are not enough elements it has to return as many as possible.

According to documentation, in owned one-to-many relationships, order of elements in "owner" object collection is determined either by automatically created index field, or by information given in explicit ordering clause. What I need to do is combine these columns of data into one big column. I do not care if there are duplicate entries, however I want it to skip row 1 of each column. • One repository/multiple projects without getting mixed up?

  Hello After reading Joel's last article on Mercurial, I'm giving it a shot on XP as a single-user, single-computer source control system. One thing I'd like to check, though, is: It'd be easier to just create a repository of all the tiny projects I keep in eg. C:\VB.Net\, but the result is that the changes I make to the different projects therein (C:\VB.Net\ProjectA\, C:\VB.Net\ProjectB\, etc.) will be mixed in a single changelog. But if I use a single repository for all projects, when I do diff's or go through the change history, will I be able to filter data so that I only see changes pertaining to a given project? Otherwise, is creating repositories in each project directory the only solution? Thank you.

• Fire only one Custom Validator at a time

  I have two Custom Validators attached to a textbox. The textbox is to enter comma separated list of emails. The first validator checks that there is not duplicate email address. The second custom validator checks that all the email addresses are in valid format. I have following code and it works fine. However, when both the failure criteria is met both of them are firing and I get two * at the right side of my textbox. What is the best approach to show only one * at a time? • Python Importing object that originates in one module from a different module into a third module

  I was reading the sourcode for a python project and came across the following line: from couchexport.export import Format (source: https://github.com/wbnigeria/couchexport/blob/master/couchexport/views.py#L1 ) I went over to couchexport/export.py to see what Format was (Class? Dict? something else?). Unfortunately Format isn't in that file. export.py does however import a Format from couchexport.models where there is a Format class (source: https://github.com/wbnigeria/couchexport/blob/master/couchexport/models.py#L11). When I open up the original file in my IDE and have it look up the declaration, in line I mentioned at the start of this question, it leads directly to models.py. What's going on? How can an import from one file (export.py) actually be an import from another file (models.py) without being explicitly stated?

  Is it possible to merge a range of revisions from one branch to another in Mercurial? e.g. |r1 |r2 |r3 |\___ | | r5 | | r6 | | r7 | | ... | | r40 |r41 If I want to merge revisions 6 & 7, but not 5, into the main branch - is this possible? What about multiple selected revision ranges from branch A to branch B? e.g. merge 4-7, 20-25 and 30-34? (this isn't a real case, just an illustration. I'm trying to understand if hg has this revision-range merge feature that I know svn has)

• Laravel 4 - Using multiple paginators on one page

  I've been googling for this question but can't find any good answers. I found that there is a method called setPageName() for the paginator but it only works when used like Paginator::setPageName('page'). I looked up the paginator in the Laravel API (http://laravel.com/api/class-Illuminate.Pagination.Environment.html) and the method is a public function just like setBaseUrl which I am currently using like $albums->setBaseUrl('/album/'); for instance I want to have a Photo paginator (?photoPage=n) and a Comment paginator (?commentPage=n). Is there any way that I can use two paginators that use different page names in the URL on one page, or at least call the setPageName() method like setBaseUrl()?

• Ajax DragPanelExtender drag an item from one panel to another

  I have a panel called "ItemPot" and several panels called "ItemBank1", "ItemBank2" etc. Currently I have dynamically added 5 items to the pot and given each one a DragPanelExtender so that those items can be moved around within the panel, however what I wan't to be able to do is to move those items into the banks and then save there new parent ID ("itembank1") to the database using C#. Does anyone know of an easy way of doing that? I have looked around the internet and I have found loads of ways of doing similar things using JQuery or Mootools but I would rather not have to use Javascript if possible, I know that might be wishful thinking lol.

  Hello, I have a windows form that has a simple menu and performs a simple operation, I want to be able to create another windows form with all the functionality of a menu bar, message pump etc.. as a seperate process so I can then share the results of the operation to the second window. I.E. 1) Form A opens Form B opens as a separate process 2)Form A performs operation 3)Form A passes results via memory to Form B 4)Form B display results I'm confused as to how to go about it, the main app runs fine but i'm not sure how to add a second window if the first one already exists. • How to program three editions Light, Pro, Ultimate in one solution

  I'd like to know how best to program three different editions of my C# ASP.NET 3.5 application in VS2008 Professional (which includes a web deployment project). I have a Light, Pro and Ultimate edition (or version) of my application. At the moment I've put all in one solution with three build versions in configuration manager and I use preprocessor directives all over the code (there are around 20 such constructs in some ten thousand lines of code, so it's overseeable): #if light //light code #endif #if pro //pro code #endif //etc... I've read in stackoverflow for hours and thought to encounter how e.g. Microsoft does this with its different Windows editions, but did not find what I expected. Somewhere there is a heavy discussion about if preprocessor directives are evil. What I like with those #if-directives is: the side-by-side code of differences, so I will understand the code for the different editions after six months and the special benefit to NOT give out compiled code of other versions to the customer. OK, long explication, repeated question: What's the best way to go?

I got some pointers from an earlier question which was trying to do something similar but more complex.   I am trying to figure out how to change the color of the table view navigation bar in multiple table views. The table views are all connected to a navigation controller. For example, I want one navigation bar to be blue, but another to be red. I have tried the code below in the AppDelegate.m file, but it just changes all the navigation bars to the same color. Is there anywhere else I could place this code to change the color in specific places. I've heard that I need to create new files, but I don't know where to place the code, or what code to use in the new files. I am somewhat new to this.   Hi all! I've search for some clues on this problem without much success. Hope someone can kick me in the right direction. I am prototyping a couple of apps where I need to design my own GUI. The GUI is made up by two separated UIViews where one of them contains a small thumb of an image. I want to be able to drag this thumb from the first view to the other. Simple as that! But I haven't figured out how this is done. Here is the exact flow I am looking for: touch the thumb animate a small enlargement of the thumb drag the thumb to the other UIView drop the thumb animate a shrink of the thumb Not particularly strange, but the thumb remains related to the first view all the time. I've tried to move the thumb via the first views superview and then back to the second view, but with no luck.

• Multiple foreign keys from one table linking to single primary key in second table

  Hi all, I have a database with three tables, a household table, an adults table and a users table. The Household table contains two foreign keys, iAdult1ID and iAdult2ID. The Users table has a iUserID primary key and the Adult table has a corresponding iUserID foreign key. One of the columns in the Users table is strUsername, an e-mail address. I am trying to write a query that will allow me to search for an e-mail address for either adult that has a relation to the household. So I have two questions, assuming that all the values are not null, how can I do this? And two, in reality, iAdult2ID can be null, is it still possible to write a query to do this? Thanks for your help. Let me know if you need any more information.
