• Understanding the output from svn export

  Working on some tweaks for a build script, I noticed that the output from svn export has an 'A' in column 1 for each file exported. A C:\build\file1 A C:\build\file2 A C:\build\file3 The subversion book describes the meaning of the various columns for svnlook changes and svn status, but I'm not having much luck finding the meaning behind this one. What does the 'A' in column 1 mean? Are there any other values displayed there? Any other columns? Thanks!

  right now I am working on a tool that does a lot of work via the Process object through the command line. So there are times when I want the command window to not show up and times when I want it to stay open so that the user can see what happened, possibly respond with the appropriate input.   I'm planning on creating a C# Windows Forms app as an extension for a third-party Win32 application but I'm stumped as to how to do this right now. The farthest I've gotten is knowing it involves Win32 Hooking and that there's this open source project called EasyHook that's supposed to allow me to do this. I'd like to know how I can get the text from a textbox or some other data from a control in a third-party Win32 application. The text/data in a control is to be captured from the external application's running window the moment the user presses a button. I guess the question can be summed up as follows: How do you determine the event to hook to when the user clicks a certain button? How do you get the value displayed by a Win32 control at the time the button is clicked?

• What open source database platform is most easily transferred from my personal machine into a window

  I would like eventual interaction with MS Dynamics SL and/or MindTouch Core (running on WMware) for eventual intranet and/or internet display. I guess I am asking for front and back end recommendations for a database I am constructing, but since this is my first major project I would greatly appreciate any help and advice. I would also love an opportunity to learn a new language so the code base could be in any language. I do have a few more related questions for discussion; What is the viability of using Google hosting to provide the service to the public for free? Should I implement plone or another CMS if I have a large amount of output? Is there a structuring questionnaire or standards publication I could reference? Does UML diagramming provide additional options for portability? Thank you.

• Output Flash Trace to Firebug Console

  Hello, I am trying to output my Flash application's trace to the firebug console. After some Goggling I have found that other are doing something like this: public static function debug(text: Dynamic):Void { trace(text); ExternalInterface.call("console.log", text.toString()); } My Firebug console never outputs anything and always just shows "Please Reload Page to enable..." So, of coarse, I have reloaded the page and it does not seem to change anything. I have the correct Object imported into the calling class. I am running FireBug 1.4.2. • TFS build problem: missing assembly in test output folder

  Hi all, I am trying to integrate unit test cases with a TFS build in our new solution. I've include the following configuration line in my TFSBuild.proj <ItemGroup> <TestContainer Include="$(OutDir)\%2aTest.dll" /> </ItemGroup> Which I think is the correct configuration since I only have 1 test project. However, when I do this, some dll is missing in the output folder of the test case, hence failing most of my test case. Has anyone run into this problem before? Thanks!

• Clear command line output from Python [Eclipse]

  I'm using Eclipse for writing Python, and I want to be able to easily clear the screen. I've seen this question, and tried (among other things suggested there) the following solution import os def clear(): os.system('cls' if os.name == 'nt' else 'clear') but it doesn't entirely solve my problem. Instead of clearing the screen, the routine prints a small square (as if wanting to print an unknown character) to the command output window in Eclipse. Typing cls in the command line works perfectly fine, as does running a Python script with the above code from command line. But how can I make it look nice in Eclipse as well?

  What is the equivalent of Quartz Window Services for Windows and X11? I want to be able to capture individual windows with their decorations, shadows, etc., completely independent from each other. Basically what the Son of Grab example is able to do. http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/samplecode/SonOfGrab/Introduction/Intro.html Also it seems like it's not possible to capture non-top-level windows with QWS in Mac. For example I want to be able to capture a Java or Flash applet running inside Firefox. What other library would I need to use instead?

• Allow native DLL to output stdout / stderr in c# console application

  I have a native DLL which outputs via stdout / stderr. I have a C# console application which calls this DLL and outputs binary data to a parent C# application which started the C# console exe, processing stdout / stderr. Currently when I call the C# exe it works just fine (the DLL hooks up to the stdout of my console application and puts its data in just fine). Is this by design (and shouldn't be broken in future .NET framework versions)? Are there limitations on my managed code's deployment with this strategy (full-trust, permission requirements, GAC issues, etc)? I can't seem to find any documentation about stdout with a managed exe and an unmanaged dll both putting data in that standard output on MSDN. Thanks,

• Drag drop open file in Macvim split window?

  Hello. I like to use the split window feature in Vim. However I cannot seem to drag drop new files into the different sections. Doing so will just open a new tab. I don't like using tabs as I still need to flick between them and not much different to using separate windows. Is there anyway I can change this behaviour? It works fine on Windows gVim and Im using the same vimrc file.

• glibc backtrace - can't redirect output to file

  Hi, I'm in the process of debugging a C program (that I didn't write). I have all of the internal debugging tools (a whole bunch of printf's) enabled, and I wrote a small PHP script that uses proc_open() and just grabs both stdout and stderr, and time-coordinates them in one file. At the moment, the binary is dieing with a realloc() error that's caught by glibc, and a glibc backtrace is printed, beginning with: *** glibc detected *** /sbin/rsyslogd: realloc(): invalid next size: 0x00002ace626ac910 *** Here's the thing I don't understand: I've confirmed that the PHP script is catching both stdout and stderr from the binary's process and writing them to the correct files, but this backtrace is still printed to the console. Where is this coming from? Is there some magical output channel other than stdout and stderr? Any ideas on how I go about capturing this backtrace to a file, or sending it out with stderr?   I have an application that runs the a command as below: <command> >& /dev/null I have no control on this. All the o/p generated by this command goes to /dev/null. I want the output to be visible on screen or redirected to a log file. I tried to use freopen() and related functions to reopen /dev/null to another file, but could not get it working. • Output to console while preserving user input in ruby

  I have a ruby script that is simultaneously and asynchronously receiving and displaying messages from a server, and allowing user input on the console. When a message is received, it is currently being written in the middle of what the user is typing. The input itself isn't garbled, but it looks horrible. Ideally, it would save the users current input, output the message, and then restore the input on the next line. I've done this in c by intercepting every key stroke, but all I remember is that it was a major hassle. I'm fairly new to ruby, so I'm not sure if there is a good way to do this, or how to do it. Example: User is typing >abcde, and message hello comes in, and user types fgh after. The console would now show: >abcdehellofgh and user can continue typing at the end. I would like it to show: hello >abcdefgh

  Hi, I've a window that will hold several instances of a model object, listed in a table. The model object is updated using a text view. What is the best way to keep the edit flag and undo manager in synch with the content of the different model objects? I'm thinking creating an instance of the undo manager on the model object and manually set the undo manager for the text view every time the user choses a new model object. Does the undo manager also handle the edited flag?

• Intermec PF8t printer - print output with wrong orientation

  I am using an Intermec PF8t for label printing. My labels are the size of 40mm(width) and 20mm (height) and they are rendered in a crystal report from where I print them dynamically. The problem is that no matter what the page orientation I specify either in crystal report or in printer settings, the result is printed vertically(i.e. my output gets rotated by 90 degrees) whereas I want it to print horizontally (as in normal left to right printing) . Strangely, when I print the label at design time, everything prints as it should. One important thing to mention is that i print my label report programmatically using crystal reprot's PrintToPrinter() method. Any ideas... I have pretty much exhausted all the information available at intermec's portal but to no avail.
