  • Identifying that a variable is a new-style class in Python?

    I'm using Python 2.x and I'm wondering if there's a way to tell if a variable is a new-style class? I know that if it's an old-style class that I can do the following to find out. import types class oldclass: pass def test(): o = oldclass() if type(o) is types.InstanceType: print 'Is old-style' else: print 'Is NOT old-style' But I haven't been able to find anything that works for new-style classes. I found this question, but the proposed solutions don't seem to work as expected, because simple values as are identified as classes. import inspect def newclass(object): pass def test(): n = newclass() if inspect.isclass(n): print 'Is class' else: print 'Is NOT class' if inspect.isclass(type(n)): print 'Is class' else: print 'Is NOT class' if inspect.isclass(type(1)): print 'Is class' else: print 'Is NOT class' if isinstance(n, object): print 'Is class' else: print 'Is NOT class' if isinstance(1, object): print 'Is class' else: print 'Is NOT class' So is there anyway to do something like this?     I'd like to set the attribute of an input form with an array of values (to use for autocomplete search). I have a JS array that looks a little something like this: var suggestions = ["value1", "value2", "value3"]; Using jQuery, I did this: $("#search-input").attr("data-source", suggestions); Desired output: <input type='search' data-source='["value1", "value2", "value3"]' /> Actual output: <input type='search' data-source='value1, value2, value3' /> This breaks the autocomplete as it requires an array (or at least something that looks like a JavaScript array).

We have a server connected to a landline using asterisk, so I'm thinking this server will bridge our VoIP conversation and connect it to a landline. But if this is the case, wouldn't Skype need a lot of servers placed around the whole world just to connect to landlines?

    Hi, I have a class, let's say User adnotated with @XmlRootElement, with some properties (name, surname etc). I use this class for REST operations, as application/xml. The client will POST User class so i want to keep the values in the log. Is there any method in jax-ws to prints out this object as xml?     Hi, I'm currently getting started with NASM and wanted to know, how to output the contents of a register with NASM in Hexadecimal. I can output the content of eax with section .bss reg_buf: resb 4 . . . print_register: mov [reg_buf], eax mov eax, SYS_WRITE mov ebx, SYS_OUT mov ecx, reg_buf mov edx, 4 int 80h ret Let's say eax contains 0x44444444 then the output would be "DDDD". Apparently each pair of "44" is interpreted as 'D'. My ASCII table approves this. But how do I get my program to output the actual register content (0x44444444)?

    I am working on an application with multiple clients and a server running various web-services for the clients. To implement licensing I am thinking about using HTTPS as a protocol for the web-services using certificates that are issued by our company. By influencing the expiration date of a certificate for a client we can prevent them from using our software after their license term. It this possible and does it make sense to you? Additional information: I am planning on using Qt/C++ for the clients, and the Twisted framework for the web-services.

  • Silverlight 3 and System.ServiceProcess - Doesn't allow the reference to be added.

    I'm trying to write a program that can stop and start services using SilverLight 3 and VS2010. I can't add the reference to the System.ServiceProcess dll. C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\System.ServiceProcess.dll 1st why? - It it just a security precaution? 2- Is there a work around? Does SilverLight have a different library that I can use to start and stop services. Also note that this is a desktop application and not a web app. It will be sitting on my desktop to toggle services on and off.

    I am trying to create a Soap Web Service Client using the Visual C# 2008 Express IDE. I Do that by Right-Clicking Project Name-Add service Reference. Everything is working out fine, and the client is being generated as follows [System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapDocumentMethodAttribute("operationInfo", RequestElementName="mainInfoTag", RequestNamespace="http://www.example.com/test", ResponseElementName="Answer", ResponseNamespace="http://www.example.com/test", Use=System.Web.Services.Description.SoapBindingUse.Literal, ParameterStyle=System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapParameterStyle.Wrapped)] [return: System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("somenewID")] public string storeWarrantyInformation(tagBelowMainInfoTag tag, out string somenewID, out string someotherID) As you can see, the method is marked with SoapParameterStyle.Wrapped, what this is does is that it does not create a class corresponding "mainInfoTag". The Questions I have is what determines the Client SoapParameterStyle in the proxy class. I would like to get SoapParamterStyle as Bare, so that I have access to the root XML element. Is there some setting I can specify in the IDE or through 'wsdl.exe' to make this happen.
