  • How to add JS/CSS files to Joomla modules?

    I am starting out with Joomla and am writing a simple Joomla module. I am using some custom CSS and JS in my module. Now when I distribute this module I need my JS/CSS files to go with the ZIP. I have added my files in my module ZIP file. This is what i need to know - How do I refer to these CSS/JS files in my module so that even if I distribute the module as a zip i would not have to send the css/js files separately? I tried looking at different solutions including http://www.howtojoomla.net/how-tos/development/how-to-add-cssjavascript-to-your-joomla-extension But I was not able to figure out what the URL for the JS/CSS file should be? I am using Joomla 1.7 hosted on a cloud hosting site. Thanks

  • dirtyFields with itemview

    I have a master/detail application that I'm building with backbone marionette. as the user clicks the master rows, the detail will show the row details. users need to be able to edit the row. I'd like the notify them if they try to 'leave' the row before saving. I was thinking that I'd use the dirtyFields plugin for this functionality. Has anyone else used these together? when I swap out my itemview, how do I initialize the plugin? when I close the view, is there anything I should think about to clean up the view? any thoughts would be appreciated. thx

    I have a which has a css binding according to the value of 'rowState' as follows which is working fine. Now, I need to bind the 'click' event to fire only if the rowState is not 2. I tried the following, but with no success. I do not want to use the if statement as the div has got lots of content which I would need to repeat. The only difference is to make the div not clickable if rowState is 2. Could you please help me to sort this out?

    I am trying out multi player racing game using Node and Socket IO ,express . So I have tried simple example to see the latency between node server and the clients. I have a draggable image in client . when I move the image ienter code heren one client ,it has to move in all clients. so basically when I am moving the image I am sending the image position to the node server in a json format , then from there I am broadcasting to all clients. there is a ~approx 300ms latency from the time. following are the results. Client 1 sending data to server at : 286136 (timestamp) Server received at : 286271 Client2 received data at : 286470 Client3 received data at : 286479 Client4 received data at : 286487 Client5 received data at : 286520 the latency between move from client1 to client5 is 384ms. its too hight for a racing game .. here is my server code. var app = require('express').createServer(); var io = require('socket.io'); var http = require('http'); var http_server = http.createServer(); var server = http.createServer(app); server.listen(3000); var socket = io.listen(server,{ log: false }); socket.sockets.on('connection', function (client) { client.on('message', function (data){ console.log("data arrived to server",new Date().getTime()); // Below both statements are giving same latency between the client 1 and client 5 client.broadcast.emit('message',data); //socket.sockets.emit('message',data); }); }); 1) Is there any way to optimize the server code to reduce the latency? 2) is this expected latency using node and websockets ? 3) is socket io can't broadcast the data asynchronously (I mean at a same time) ?     This is an architectural question. I have models like this: var foo = new mongoose.Schema({ name: String, bars: [{type: ObjectId, ref: 'Bar'}] }); var FooModel = mongoose.model('Foo', foo); var bar = new mongoose.Schema({ foobar: String }); var BarModel = mongoose.model('Bar', bar); Then I want to implement a convenience method like this: BarModel.methods.addFoo = function(foo) { foo.bars = foo.bars || []; // Side note, is this something I should check here? foo.bars.push(this.id); // Here's the line I'm wondering about... Should I include the line below? foo.save(); } The biggest con I see about this is that if I did include foo.save() then I should pass in a callback to addFoo so I avoid issues with the async operation. I'm thinking this is not preferable. But I also think it would be nice to include because addFoo hasn't really "addedFoo" until it's been saved... Am I breaking any design best practices doing it either way?

  • Using KnockoutJS 2.2.0 & jQuery 1.8.2 remove all bindings from all children of #someDiv

    I'm wanting to delete All bindings (ko.cleanNode) from all child elements of a certain div. Must be a noobie question but I can't figure out how to use jQuery to loop through all childre, grand-children, great-grand-children, etc. whilst having KnockoutJS remove the bindings of all the DOM elements. I do NOT want to remove the elements from the DOM. This is a single page application, therefore the elements are pre-loaded as embedded resources and don't get resend to a client if they were to visit the page again. If a client revisits that part of the application I'll have a function rebind the necessary elements, which currently works fine.   • How to create a nested form in backbone relational?

    I would like to be able to create nested models at the same time in backbone. I know how to use backbone relational to create the parent model. Then once it is saved, I can create child models through backbone relational. However, I want to be able to create both the parent and child models at the same time, which might not be possible because I can only create the child model once the parent model has already been created. For example, let's say I was creating a forum like the one from the awesome backbone relational tutorial - http://antoviaque.org/docs/tutorials/backbone-relational-tutorial/. I would want to create a thread and a message at the same time(through the click of a single button) rather than create a thread then a message. Is this possible? Is there a better way of doing this that I'm not thinking of?

If you delete a line z-index:0, in css class test1, the ie will perform correctly. In my project , the z-index must be set greater than zero, so I couldn't delete the line.     I have an array of objects that looks like this: [{ name: 'test', size: 0, type: 'directory', path: '/storage/test' }, { name: 'asdf', size: 170, type: 'directory', path: '/storage/test/asdf' }, { name: '2.txt', size: 0, type: 'file', path: '/storage/test/asdf/2.txt' }] There could be any number of arbitrary path's, this is the result of iterating through files and folders within a directory. What I'm trying to do is determine the 'root' node of these. Ultimately, this will be stored in mongodb and use materialized path to determine it's relationships. In this example, /storage/test is a root with no parent. /storage/test/asdf has the parent of /storage/test which is the parent to /storage/test/asdf/2.txt. My question is, how would you go about iterating through this array, to determine the parent's and associated children? Any help in the right direction would be great! Thank you

    I have register form on every page of my website. During registration some error may occur. After cathing error, I have to return user to previous page, showing some error tips. The problem is I dont know from which page user performs registration. That's why I use res.redirect('back');. However, I cant just redirect user back, I have to show him whats wrong. Thats why I have to pass some parameter. But res.redirect('back', (reg_error:'username')}) can not be used directly 'cause res.redirect() doesn't support parameters. How can I render prevous page with some parameter? Thanks!

I have a collectionView App.MyView = Ember.CollectionView.extend({ itemViewClass: 'App.MyViewItem', contentBinding: 'controller' }); and the itemViewClass App.MyViewItem = Ember.View.extend({ templateName: 'mytemplate' }); the template looks like that: <div {{action 'select' view.content}}>{{view.content.name}}</div> {{outlet detail}} </div> This produces the content list just fine. In the controller, I have an action: select: function(evt){ this.transitionToRoute('item', evt); } What I want to do is to transition to a nested route when selecting the item (which works fine) and also load more data of the selected item into {{outlet detail}}. While I can load the content of the "item" route into an outlet of e.g. application.hbs, I don't know how to reference the outlet of the selected collectionView item so that the detailed contents are displayed within the existing view. I tried to use: this.render('item', { outlet: 'detail', into: '????' }); within the item Route, but I don't know how to reference the collectionview item template. Maybe there's also a much easier way of loading more data from an item in the item's view (while changing the route at the same time). Any help would be appreciated.

    I have an application created with PhoneGap and Backbone. I upload a file as JSon and my server receive data like this : data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQAAAQABAAD/... I'm trying to write the file like this : File.open("#{Rails.root}/public/images/#{self.id}.jpg", "w+") do |f| f.write(data) end It's not working and I don't know what to do. When I'm trying to open the file I have this message "Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x64 0x61". Do you have a solution?
