• Cannot position Google +1 button with CSS?

  I'm having some trouble positioning the Google +1 button on my website. The div is as follows: <div class="g-plusone"></div> The CSS I'm using is pretty simple: .g-plusone { position: absolute; top:95px; left:715px; } I know for a fact that the div in question is being accessed. What's strange is that other social sharing buttons, such as the FB like below follow the same syntax and are positioned perfectly. .fb-like { position: absolute; top:62px; left:715px; } Any ideas?

• Images to video - converting to IplImage makes video blue

  I want to create a video from images using opencv. The strange problem is that if i will write image (bmp) to disk and then load (cv.LoadImage) it it renders fine, but when i try to load image from StringIO and convert it to IplImage, it turns video to blue. • PHP math gets crazy, need explanation, my brain is melting

  I know that playing with php float can give strange results if you try to add "goats + apples", but please take a look to the following case: $val = 1232.81; $p1 = 1217.16; $p2 = 15.65; $sum = $p1 + $p2; $dif = $val - $sum; echo $dif; It will give you -2.2737367544323E-13 ... yeah, ALMOST zero, but then why it doesn't say 0 ? This freaks me out big time. Please, I need some valid explanation.

• FDF-files not opening properly

  We have created a servlet that provides a FDF file for our clients. The FDF file is created by iText and the output looks fine. Whenever we open the FDF either from the Servlet, or from a local file, AcrobatReader starts, asks if the PDF should be downloaded, we allow that and then we see the PDF - without the values we filled in the form. One thing that seems strange is, that regardless of the Browser, we get prompted about what to do with the PDF file that Adobe has tried to load. Anything else that clicking "open" will result in a empty Acrobat viewer window. I suspect that Acrobat forgets what to do with the PDF - but I have run out of ideas. Anyone got an idea where to look further?

• GMap in iframe gets off-center

  I have a Google Map (API 2) that used to work fine as a standalone page. However, when I load the map page within an iframe (with Thickbox), the map gets off-center: normally it's centered over Germany and in the iframe it centers on Iran, instead. How to make the map center correctly? My guesses: The problem can result from the iframe loading time. I guess, that the script calculates window size basing on the iframe size when it's still loading. • C# : Number Conversion Problem

  Today I faced a strange problem in C#. I have an ASP.NET page where user can enter certain price, quantity etc. I get the price value, convert it to double, then multiply it with 100 and then typecast it to an integer. When the price is "33.30", after converting it to double it remains 33.3 (obviously...), but after multiplying it with 100, it becomes 3329.9999999999995, and when I cast it to integer by applying simple cast operator "(int) (price * 100) ", it becomes 3329. Right now I have no idea why this is happening. So I thought may be you guys can help :) .

• Twitter's Bootstrap 2.x popover callback can't focus on element

  I've modified bootstrap's popover function to include a callback which works great. But in the callback I cannot programmatically focus on the first form field. Strange, because I can manipulate other elements in the callback function as well as focus on the element at other points. • NSURL not instantiating properly

  Hi, I am new to IPhone developing. I have got very strange issue with NSURL which is driving me crazy. I want to instantiate NSURL object to use it in loading image. But instantiation never happens in proper way. It always says my url in invalid. Basically I use code like below: NSString *str = @"http://google.com"; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:str]; but I also have tried a lot of different modifications (with CFStringRef + CFURLCreateStringByAddingPercentEscapes and so on). All of them are not working for me. In debugger url is set to "Invalid". What it could be? I don't think this is algorithmic or environment issue. It could be about some settings? Have anyone any idea of what happens?

• Youtube python: get thumbnail

  Is there a simple way to get the default thumbnail from a youtube entry object gdata.youtube.YouTubeVideoEntry? I tried entry.media.thumbnail, but that gives me four thumbnail objects. Can I always trust that there are four? Can I know which is the default thumbnail that would also appears on the youtube search page? And how would I get that one? Or do I have to alter one of the other ones? When I know the video_id I use: http://i4.ytimg.com/vi/{{video_id}}/default.jpg so, it would also be helpful to get the video_id. Do I really have to parse one of the url's to get at the video_id ? It seems strange that they don't provide this information directly.

• CheckBox gets converted to Button in Flex

  Hi, I am new to Flex, so please bear with me. I have encountered a strange problem. There's a ActionScript class which dynamically creates basic UI element. So I create RadioButton as var rBtn:RadioButton = new RadioButton(); and then put it in a Panel Container. The problem is that it appears to be a Button. However it behaves like RadioButton. I have found this problem with one more guy who has posted it here. CheckBoxes and RadioButton looks like Push Buttons. Please help me out with this. Thanks.

  My problem: I erased all cookies from my computer. I sent Post request to the X server log and sent me a "normal" Set-Cookie with its parameters, but then somehow it will send request for Google Analytics (GA), in which the "strange" header (utma, utmac, utmcn ...). This happens when I send request in browser. But when I pass a request to login from my program (I programm in Ruby), so my server will return 302 Found, but no request to the GA sends. And I just need these headers ...

• Problem with Silverlight/wpf in scrolling html div.

  Hi all, I have a Silverlight object sitting at the bottom of a scrollable div. This object is submitted to a wcf backend via a javascript button. The problem is, as the silverlight is at the bottom of the scrollable div it is not viewable until you have scrolled down. This is generating an error when the javascript button is clicked ( if i havent scrolled down ) awfully strange, or am i just an idiot :/ if i scroll down so the silverlight object, so it is in view it submits just fine. The error i got is an alert type error which says : The parameter value must be greater than zero. Parameter name: pixelWidth This seems to be returned from the wcf service. What could cause this? • What do angle brackets around an eclipse perspective mean?

  I wrote a new perspective for our Eclipse RCP Project. The perspective worked fine, but because of a malconfiguration I had to revert to an earlier code-version in which this perspective didn't exist yet. The strange thing is it still gets shown in the "open perspective" Dialog. The only difference is, that it is now in angle brackets and appears two times. What do the angle brackets mean? (unresolved title perhaps?) And how can I get rid of these entries? Thanks a lot!

• DataGridView and checkboxes re-selecting automatically

  I have a strange problem with a DataGridView I'm using which is bound to a table in VB.net I've added a checkbox column to allow a user to tick a bunch of rows that I can then loop through and save off to a different table. All the checkboxes are enabled by default. So it's really a case of unchecking the rows which aren't required. However, the DataGridView re-enables any checkbox that I click after I click on a checkbox in another row. So in effect, only one row can be unchecked at a time. I'm sure I'm probably missing something obvious here?

  Hi SO community! I am drawing graphs into a WinForms Picturebox. Now I am searching for a possibility to 'duplicate' a line (an array of points), so that the two resulting lines are positioned a fixed distance away from the original one. Like in this picture, I have the red line and want to get the black ones: I thought about just moving the line a few pixels up/right/up-right, but that leads to strange overlapping lines. Is there any other approach that does what I want? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  I'm trying to create a foreign key on a table in MySQL and I'm getting a strange error that there seems to be little info about in any of my searches. I'm creating the key with this (emitted from mysql workbench 5.2): ALTER TABLE `db`.`appointment` ADD CONSTRAINT `FK_appointment_CancellationID` FOREIGN KEY (`CancellationID` ) REFERENCES `db`.`appointment_cancellation` (`ID` ) ON DELETE NO ACTION ON UPDATE NO ACTION , ADD INDEX `FK_appointment_CancellationID` (`CancellationID` ASC) ; at which point I get the error: ERROR 1452: Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (alarmtekcore., CONSTRAINT FK_lead_appointment_CancellationID FOREIGN KEY (CancellationID) REFERENCES lead_appointment_cancellation (`) I've checked here but there's no data in the table.

• when i merge a data table with a typed dataset, one single field on a single row is DBNull sometimes

  Hi everybody, I have a strange problem sometimes when I try to merge a data table with a typed dataset my data table is filled in with a stored procedure and when I checked the content of this table it is ok, everything is in there straight after I merge it with my core typed dataset like this : MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Clear(); MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Merge(MyDataTable); and now if i check the table in the dataset everything is ok except only one single field on one single row which is DBNull, that makes no sense because the source data table contains the good integer vaue. • Why does sh/bash set command line parameter values when trying to set environment variable?

  A question on basics : While tuning environment variables for a program launched from a script, I ended up with somewhat strange behaviour with sh (which seems to be actually linked to bash) : variable setting seems to mess up with command-line parameters. Could somebody explain why does this happen? A simple script: #! /bin/sh # Messes with $1 ?? set ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M export ANT_OPTS # Works # export ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M echo "0 = $0" echo "1 = $1" When I run this with the upper alternative (set + export), the result is as following: $ ./test.sh foo 0 = ./test.sh 1 = ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M But with lower alternative (export straight), the result is as I supposed: $ ./test.sh foo 0 = ./test.sh 1 = foo There is surely logical explanation, I just haven't figured it out yet.   I was reading about the new concurrent collection classes in .NET 4 on James Michael Hare's blog, and the page talking about ConcurrentQueue<T> says: It’s still recommended, however, that for empty checks you call IsEmpty instead of comparing Count to zero. I'm curious - if there is a reason to use IsEmpty instead of comparing Count to 0, why does the class not internally check IsEmpty and return 0 before doing any of the expensive work to count? E.g.: public int Count { get { // Check IsEmpty so we can bail out quicker if (this.IsEmpty) return 0; // Rest of "expensive" counting code } } It seems strange to suggest this if it could be "fixed" so easily with no side-effects?

• Omniauth + Pow Issue

  I am having a strange issue with Pow and Omniauth. Omniauth (Facebook Login) works fine when using localhost:3000, but when using Pow (appname.dev) things get fishy. Users are taken through the redirect and properly created if they don't exist in the database, as they should be. After this, however, they are redirected to the root_path and not signed in. Their record is saved in the database as expected, but sign in does not occur. Again, this is only happening on Pow (and lvh.me), and not on localhost. Any ideas? I am using the Devise/Omniauth approach for sign-in, and the controller code looks like this: def facebook @user = User.find_for_facebook_oauth(request.env["omniauth.auth"], current_user) if @user.persisted? flash[:notice] = I18n.t "devise.omniauth_callbacks.success", :kind => "Facebook" sign_in_and_redirect @user, :event => :authentication else session["devise.facebook_data"] = request.env["omniauth.auth"] redirect_to new_user_registration_url end end Again, the user is persisted but there is no flash notice or sign_in that occurs when using POW.

• ListViewGroup not sorting correctly

  I'm using a ListView control in a C# WinForms application. Items in the list are added to a ListViewGroup (in this case, grouping by country). The one thing that isn't working as expected is that the column sorting appears to be strange. I've hooked into the ListViewItemSorter property of the ListView and everything sorts perfectly except when the country column is sorted in descending order (that is, Z-A). Regardless of how the list sort occurs the groups show in ascending order. Can anyone give me a nudge in the right direction? EDIT: FWIW, .NET 3.5 on Vista.
