  • Telesense not finding methods

    I'm working in Asp.net and telesense isn't finding the methods in app code. It executes the code well without any issue at run time, but I'm not able to see the method names while coding. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance

  • C# 2008 Express v C# 2010 Express

    Can anybody post a link to a comparison chart, or even to a duplicated question here on SO, for these two products? Plenty of info on what is missing between Express and Pro for example, but I'm struggling to find much on Express v Express. Is the only real difference the ability to develop apps for .NET 4.0? I'm developing WinForms apps, targetting .NET 2.0 at the moment, so are there any benefits for me in changing to 2010 Express? Unfortunately, upgrading to VS Professional or such is not an option for me right now, so I'm stuck with the hamstrung versions. Thanks.

  • VS2010 doesn't show project's CodeAnalysis page

    When I try to open a project's CodeAnalysis page I get the error "An error occurred trying to load the page. Only TrueType fonts are supported. This is not a TrueType font." I also get a very simmilar ExceptionBox when I want to open the solution's propertywindow: "Only TrueType fonts are supported. This is not a TrueType font." Has anyone experiences with this error?

    VSS is resuming it's sabotage of my repository again. The repair command won't let me repair, the lock VSS doesn't seem to affect currently logged in users-- and it isn't a user, its claiming the only person logged in is admin (via the VSS admin tool!) and I have already closed all instances of the VSS admin tool and client.

But my problem is when i am changing the time of my machine the changed time only saving to registry.     Hi, I got a problem migrating from VS.Net 2008 / MVC 1 to VS.NET 2010 (+C# 4.0) / MVC 2 The web.config has been updated, the site runs well in Cassini, but my problem now is deploying on IIS 6. I updated the web site to run using ASP.Net 4, but whatever URL I try, I always have a 404 error. It's as if the routing was not taken into account (yes, the wildcard mapping has been done). I do not understand this mess and could not google anything interesting... Thanks for your suggestions ! O.

  • Vertical mouse scrolling wheel not working in VS 2010 Ultimate

    The title says it all. I tried it with two different mice- both of which work perfectly fine in all other applications. The mouse is MS Intellimouse Optical. I even tried to speed up the vertical scroll through the mouse utility and still nothing. It barely moves the code a tiny bit and then it stops. I had no problems at all with VS 2008 which is concurrently installed in the same machine. Am I the only one having this???

    Is it possible to create Windows CE 5.0 images (ie: nk.bin) from VS2005/VS2008 without using Platform Builder? If so, how? Can a vendor BSP for WinCE 5 be loaded into VS2005/2008? Are there the parts to do this available for download from Microsoft (ie: the SDK), or must you buy the special bits (a la PB) from a "special distributor"? I know it is possible to build binaries (.dll, .exe) for WinCE 5.0 using VS, my question is about creating entire bootable CE 5.0 images for embedded platforms.

    I have just started using WiX for the first time. I added a WiX Votive project to my existing C project. To automatically select the correct source folder for the binaries add used the following: <Directory Id="INSTALLLOCATION" Name="Trapeze Capture For Objective" FileSource="$(var.CaptureForObjective.TargetDir)"> That results in the following error: 1C:\code\CaptureForObjective\Installer\Product.wxs(10,0): error CNDL0150: Undefined preprocessor variable '$(var.CaptureForObjective.TargetDir)'. The C project is called CaptureForObjective, and the WiX project is called Installer. What do I need to do to get this to work?

  • Project setup for an ADO.NET/WCF DataService

    I'd like to implement a ADO.NET/WCF DataService and I am wondering what's the best way to setup a project in VS2008 SP1 for this purpose. Currently I have an ASP.NET web application project (not of "WebSite" project type). The data access layer is an Entity model (EF version 1) with SQL Server database. I have the Entity Model in a separate DLL project and the web application project references to this assembly for all data accesses. The ADO.NET/WCF DataService needs to communicate with the Entity model/database as well. It has to be hosted on the same web server (IIS 7.5) together with the web application. Since the DataService is not directly related to that specific web application (though it will provide and modify data from/in the same database the web application uses as well) my basic idea was to separate the DataService in its own new project (which also references the Entity Model DLL). Now I have seen that there is no project type "ADO.NET/WCF DataService" in VS2008 SP1. It seems only possible to add a DataService as an element to other existing projects, for instance Web Application projects. Why isn't there a separate DataService project type? Does this mean now that I have to add the DataService as an element to my Web Application project? Or shall I create a new Web Application project and add a DataService to it? (I could delete the pregenerated default.aspx since I do not need any web pages in this project.) What's the best way? Thank you for suggestions in advance!

The progam runs but never returns a result where the parameter string is equal to the one I'm looking for.     We have a tool that generates some code (.cs) files that are used to build the project. The tool is run during the pre-build step, but the files are updated in the solution only after the build, which means the build needs to be performed twice to clear the errors after a change to the input. Example: Modify Tool Input File Run Build Tool Runs and changes source file Build Fails Run Build Tool Runs and changes source file (but it doesn's actually change, because the input remains the same) Build Succeeds Any ideas how we can do away with the double build, and still let our tool be run from VS?   • VS2010 always thinks project is out of date but nothing has changed

    I have a very simmilar problem as described here. I also upgraded a mixed solution of C++/CLI and C# projects from VS2008 to VS2010. And one C++/CLI project always runs out of date. Even if it has been compiled and linked just before and F5 is hit the messagebox "The project is out of date. Would you like to build it?" appears. My pdb settings are set to default value (suggested solution of this problem). Any ideas?

  • Can't place a breakpoint in asp.net master page file

    I have an MVC web application. I get an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error in line 16 below. It's a master page file. When I try to place a breakpoint in that line or anywhere in the file, I get a "this is not a valid location for a breakpoint" error. I have clicked on every line and I can't place a single breakpoint. I do have lines which have code only. How do I place a breakpoint in this file? Note: I can place breakpoints in code files. In some other aspx files, I can place a breakpoint in some code lines and some not. Does the inline code have to be in a special format to place a breakpoint? Using VS 2010 in Windows 7 64bit.   • What's the diff between VSS 6.0 and VSS 2005?

    We've been using VSS 6.0 since time began, but yesterday I nabbed VSS2005 off of our MSDN subscription, it wouldn't let me install it off the ISO through Daemon Tools (not sure why, but I submitted error report to MS...). I noticed it had a program files directory right on the ISO, so I just copied the folder onto my hard drive. Well, I opened up the client and behold, a glamorous version of VSS 6.0 connected to the exact same DB. Anyone know if I'm going to destroy everything by using it?

  • Question How to integrate SQL Server Express with VS C# Express

    I have just installed VS C# Express 2008 which includes SQL Server Express 2008. It all went ok and I can see VS C# and SQL Server in the list of installed products. When I start VS C# it looks fine but in the DB Explorer / Data Conection context menu the option 'Create new SQL Server Database' is disabled. I have uninstalled all VS products and reinstalled but the problem remains. Do I need to do anything else? Can anyone help? Thanks
