    I am currently using NetNewsWire as my primary RSS reader on my Mac and was wondering if there was anything faster in terms of feed reload speed. Currently it is pretty slow reloading my 54 RSS feeds that I keep tabs on. There are some features I would like it to have.   • Reseting Macbook Pro keyboard and trackpad's power usage on Windows?

    I recently installed a utitlity for Windows (ASUS Ai Charger) which modifies the USB ports on the computer to output more power (for charging iPads, etc). The problem is, I believe it is also giving more power to my keyboard and trackpad. And now, neither devices are working at all, yet they work on Mac OS X. So does anyone know the amount of power MacBook Pro (2007) keyboards and trackpads use, and how I can set these settings in Windows 7?

  • DNS Issue- Nameserver Issue

    I setup new server on centos 5.3 and configure dns and hostnam using WHM. I also register my new nameservers with my domain registrar with ns1.example.com and ns2.example.com. But i am unable to ping hostname and NS. ping pc2.example.com or ping ns1.example.com I received the below email from server. IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email. Your hostname (pc2.example.com) could not be resolved to an IP address. This means that /etc/hosts is not set up correctly, and/or there is no dns entry for pc2.example.com. Please be sure that the contents of /etc/hosts are configured correctly, and also that there is a correct 'A' entry for the domain in the zone file. Some or all of these problems can be caused by /etc/resolv.conf being setup incorrectly. Please check that file if you believe everything else is correct. You may be able to automatically correct this problem by using the 'Add an A entry for your hostname' option under 'Dns Functions' in your Web Host Manager. When I issue the command root@pc[~]# host pc2.example.com I receive the below error that Host pc2.example.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN) I added A entries for hostname and Nameservers but nothing replies. Its almost more than 72 hours for setting & registering nameservers and dns configurations. thanks,

  • How to create reusable fields in Word

    I would like to create reusable fields that I can type in, then reuse those fields throughout the document without having to retype them. As an example, I have a cover sheet that contains "Title", "Document ID", "Version Number", and "Published Date". I used the MACROBUTTON trick to create a field that someone can just click on and type, but I don't see how I can re-use what is typed in other parts of the document (such as putting the Document title in the header). I've found something called "fill-in" fields, which don't seem to be what i'm looking for, and "ASK" fields, but that creates a dialog that you have to enter the information into. I'm trying to create a generic template for my documentation needs. Can anyone suggest a method to do what I am looking for?

    I need to monitor some ftp servers for any changes in file structure, things that I need to monitor is how many times an file is downloaded (not sure if possible), if files are changed or not, if files are deleted or not, if ftp server still exists, i would like this to be something that i can run server=side and would like a sms message or email if any of the above changes have occured any one have any experience or would recommend an particular language or script? thanks just for reference, i don't want to install an ftp server, i just want something to help me monitor other remote ftp servers by periodically logging in

  • MacBook (13 in. Aluminum late 08) power adapter starting to fail

    I have a MacBook (Late '08 13 In. Aluminum) with the Apple provided power adapter. I think it may be failing because It takes a little moving around with the cable nearest where it connects to the MacBook to get it to charge (small light turns on). The area of cable nearest the MacBook gets very hot, almost burning. Any ideas of how I could fix it? Hopefully without replacing the adapter. Thanks in advance!

    I'm having a huge problem getting mod_mono and apache configured to work correctly. I've had this working at one time, but I can't seem to figure out where i'm going wrong. I'm using mono-server4. I'm trying to use a seperate port from the main website. So I have in /etc/apache2/sites-available (with a link from sites-enabled) a vhost configuration that looks like this: <VirtualHost *:9999> ServerName XXX ServerAdmin web-admin@XXX DocumentRoot /var/xxx MonoServerPath XXX "/usr/bin/mod-mono-server4" MonoDebug XXX true MonoSetEnv XXX MONO_IOMAP=all MonoApplications XXX "/:/var/xxx" <Location "/"> Allow from all Order allow,deny MonoSetServerAlias XXX SetHandler mono SetOutputFilter DEFLATE SetEnvIfNoCase Request_URI "\.(?:gif|jpe?g|png)$" no-gzip dont-vary </Location> <IfModule mod_deflate.c> AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/html text/plain text/xml text/javascript </IfModule> </VirtualHost> I used mono-server4-admin to create the application mono-server4-admin --path=/var/xxx --app=/XXX --port=9999 When i start apache, it gives the error: Syntax error on line 13 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/xxx: Server alias 'XXX, not found. This corresponds with the MonoSetServerAlias statement. So I commented it out, and when I do that apache starts. However, when I try to access the site, I get a 500 error. The access log indicates that it's trying to access the app on port 80, rather than 9999. I'm not sure what the problem is here. Can anyone help me get figure out where I went wrong?   • Black screen before booting up windows 7

    I have this problem that even before booting into Win7, my laptop gets stuck in a black screen with a blinking keyboard cursor on it. It happened after I formatted one of my other partitions. I have tried everything including bootrec /fixmbr, bootrec /fixboot, and I have even tried using Ubuntu grub to boot windows but unfortunately even grub does not identify my Windows installation. I really don't want to do a reinstalltion of Windows...

  • How to diagnose RAM?

    I have a java process that is aborted after a while with SIGSEGV. It started to happen after I upgraded the server with more RAM. Having tested on different JVMs I suspect it might be a hardware problem. But no problem was detected by memtest86. So, what else can I do to detect the source of the problem is? Should I take the RAM modules one by one to detect the faulty module? The server is running on 64bit OpenSuse11.3. The memory is not an ECC one it seems.   • Adding more drives to a drive array

    I have a friend who has two servers, a Dell 1800 and an HP 350 ML G5, both have SAS drive arrays. The Dell is a 3.5" and the HP is a 2.5". They currently only have 3 drives in each array. We want to add additional drives, but they do not appear to have caddies, just "fake" covers. I haven't been able to take a good look at them, so I'm not sure what I need to do here. Are the "sockets" just there, and I can buy additional caddies and just stick them in? Or do I have to buy some kind of caddy adapter? Also, i'm thinking of just going 2.5" in the new server, so is there a 2.5" adapter caddy that will fit in the 3.5" chassis for the Dell, so I can use 2.5" drives in the 3.5" chassis? Can I buy 6GB/s drives and add them to the 3GB/s controller? The reason is that we're going to replace both computers in a year or so, and we want to bring the drives with. So rather than buy 3GB/s drives, we just want to buy 6GB/s drives so they can be used in the new server.

  • My computer is playing audio without any program open

    This is the weirdest thing ever that has happened to my computer (running Windows 7). I haven't installed anything lastly, except lavasoft adware antivirus When my computer stats then audio starts playing, mostly hip hop There is no programs opened. I tried killing all unknown processed, no success. I tried resetting the firewall options of the antivirus, no success. If I disconnect from internet, then it works. The antivirus is not detecting anything. Is somebody is streaming from another house? Is that possible? and making my life impossible. How can I check and stop this?

Also, I want the Windows 7 taskbar (including the start orb) in ubuntu. Please don't suggest getting windows 7, because I can't.
